  1. I've heard that carbohydrates can be a killer - but never in such a literal way. Starched to death! Pernicious potatoes! What a way to go for Lady Rhodesia On the upside, we did smoke out a devilish Dragon Praise be! Does anyone have any evidence or news they wish to reveal before breakfast?
  2. I know! It's brilliant! I actually like that manta-man comes with a rock, and you can never have enough of those green plant Bionicle spine things. The colour scheme I'm less fond of. Some things, like the big spiny thing in the Limited Edition set, remind me of the Monster Dino set with its similar mess of lime green, red, and black. I'm still not sold 100% on this theme overall (or the bald figs in the jumbo helmets) but it does look a step up from Power Miners.
  3. Nice find! I love the bloodshot eyes of the King Squid fig. I don't like how all the human figs look bald with the helmet mould going so far back on the top of their heads.
  4. The new Xmas stuff is available from S@H. Three ornamental sets at 31.99 each.
  5. Looks like Target has the Pirate Tank - it's part of their OcTOYber (!) sale for about $48.
  6. I'd have preferred an off-white cream or light tan The problem with white is that the fabric they use now is stiff and thin, so pure white ends up coming off a little transparent and cheap-looking (I'm thinking of the Carousel roof here).

The pigs in the Farm set looked flesh too (maybe dark flesh), so at looks as if this is the way of the future
  8. Good point I did include it as you specifically mentioned it Let's just pretend I said non-Duplo themes. Actually, since Ben 10 seems to be a Bionicle/ Technic type theme, I do think it will be a little more easily compatible with regular system than Duplo or Quattro bricks. The main reason for not including Duplo here is that there is no way I'd ever remember all the variants of Little Robots and Dora and Bob the Builder and so on. It does remind me I've forgotten the Fabuland based Mickey Mouse theme...

Legoliner Pilot, please don't quote pics when making replies. You may also wish to edit down the quotes you're referring to and just pluck out the relevant sentences, in order to make your own posts more readable. Thanks!

Really? I've never heard that. The only thing I heard was that, post the outcry, they regretted not telling the AFOL community first. This has always sounded like PR damage control to me, and I doubt it would have changed anything. They also seem to be quite happy to introduce new colours (dark brown) or tweak existing ones (the new browner but more consistent dark red) without feeling the need to consult AFOLs. If you have a link to that article, I'd like to read it
  11. The shelf life of Exclusives is generally 2-3 years so I wouldn't panic. The poor-selling Factory sets (Space Skulls etc) and General Grievous are the only ones who've had a shorter run recently, mainly because they obviously weren't selling and were clearanced. The 'discontinued by mid-2010' line for the regular Pirates sets usually just means that once the last batch of sets goes out of production, they won't make any more.
  12. Sorry for being late! It was a long weekend here in Aus. Star Wars dominates everything, so I've left it off the poll (You've got a whole forum to talk about SW stuff, so I prefer to keep discussion focussed on other licenses in this forum). I've left Duplo off too and kept it to system - if someone wants to create a separate topic for that one, go ahead! I put these all in alphabetical order but I'm sure someone will be along to remind me which one I've forgotten to put it all out of whack! For me, it's Indiana Jones hands down! The minifigs are amazing and the vast majority of sets are well-designed and beautiful, packed with play features without sacrificing the aesthetics. They're not perfect, but I think they're generally more consistent and appealing than the mixed bag of Harry Potter sets (which would probably be my number 2 at this stage). When I saw all the great pics in The Lego Book over a 2 page spread, it made me want to rush out and buy more of each! This really is a beautiful theme.
  13. Probably you think your head is a lot, lot bigger than it actually is, so when you put your headlamp on, the rubber strap got tangled and cut off some circulation. Lack of oxygen to the affected tissues might cause permanent damage, so you might want to get that looked at People often don't have a realistic judgment about the size of their own head. It's very common.
  14. Thanks for the detailed review, Stash! The assortment and variety is very impressive for a new start-up. I assume the headpiece tightness issue will be corrected in future releases, if the store is informed of the issue. Mutilated heads don't sound good! I do wonder why they use old dark gray instead of the new colour. That ornamental bow piece would be very useful for decorative detail in City MOCs as well
  15. Sorry! I was in a bit of a rush to get out of the house, and if I'd cross-referenced all the delightfully-long and poetic-sounding character names with actual usernames in my post, it would have taken another half an hour That post was already long enough! I'll try to be more careful.

I just realised I own 11/12 of these dresses! Now I'll have to get the last one (the older Castle one) just so I can vote 'All' in this topic!

BlueDragonZ, you can ask questions about set availability in this topic. Please don't create separate topics for sales questions. Thanks!

Cutes! Wiggly hips! I think it's testament to TLG's improvement that half of these dresses come since 2007 alone A lovely collection!
  19. Actually, Mallory's 'gut feeling' was in your favour - he didn't vote for you Still, it looks as if consensus has been reached I pray for your soul. Indeed, my own safety is probably of concern as well. I do hope the Dragons are not so predictable as to target me tonight. It would simply confirm 100% everything I have said today. At least while I live, there is doubt. However, if I die tonight, then I ask my loyal citizens to take note of what I have said and to pursue that course of action vigorously. Praise be!
  20. Unlike other days when we've been in a flurry of excitement and things have moved very fast, we have all had a chance now to vote, if we wanted to. No excuses. Let's look at the last 2 days voting patterns and see if that reveals anything. From yesterday: And today's vote (Counting the last vote by Flitwit which hasn't been added yet) What's the first obvious thing to notice? 1) Three of the non-voters are identical, 2 days in a row - Sir Dillon, Escape the Fate, Ricecracker. This doesn't look good, as all have had a chance to vote in the last 2 days. Their indecision imperils us all, considering the Sudden Death fate that awaits us. I suspect at least one of these to be Dragons since they are dragging their feet and holding up proceedings, without any particularly good reason except 'Oh noes! I don't know what to do! Hence, no vote!' I consider these three at best dead weight, so if there are any investigators or protectors out there, don't bother looking after these 3. They are adding nothing to our daily council and are holding us up. 2) If you look at yesterday's vote, it was clear that Beatrice was on the way out. Since I believe Simon to be a Dragon, it looks to me as if the Dragons got together amongst themselves and agreed to sacrifice one of their number to throw suspicion off the rest of them. Looking at the suspect votes after ISC, we have Quarryman, professor flitwick and Stash2Sixx. If you look at today's vote, Quarryman and Stash2Sixx are again non-voters! Clearly they don't want to vote against one of their own again, ie ISC, and lose another Dragon. Stash2Sixx did the exact same thing yesterday, casting an early distracting vote for someone else and then changing it to Beatrice only late in the game. Today he has cast another useless vote which he knows won't get anywhere. Thus, I conclude that ISC, Stash2Sixx and Quarryman are all Dragons. When it became clear Lady Harcourt was for the chop, they got together and voted her off late in the day. Today, with Librarian Simon under suspicion, they have repeated their tactic of casting useless votes (Stash) or refraining. I think we should convict Simon today, and go after the 2 next most dangerous Dragons after that! Loyal citizens, I implore you to take what I say seriously! After revealing my theory, I probably won't live long enough to see it to fruition Bob the Construction Man and Darth Legois, if you are truly loyal, I ask you to change your vote to Simon today so we can at least get rid of him tonight. If I am right, he will be proved to be a Dragon. If I am wrong, then I am happy to be judged by my peers. Thanks for your attention!
  21. Stamps? I thought it was headlamps.
  22. You're right, of course - it's a modular system I didn't even think of that. And it is NOT uncool to hang around this thread admiring this beauty
  23. Yay! Now those endless 'Which is better? The BSB or [insert set name here]' topics will have some serious competition The colour scheme is very nice and the sails look good. I like the thicker wooden mast beams, but I do miss the string rigging. And 75cm long! This really is going to be an impressive centrepiece! At least Pirates goes out with a bang (or blast of the cannon), just as it deserves!
  24. Great, so by the time you wake up again, you'll have 'missed' the vote again
  25. I bet their heads aren't properly developed It explains a lot. This item is probably not for them.
