  1. $AUD39.95 is the RRP, according to the publisher. You can do a search from the DK website (try Lego for best results).

I was think about this topic, quietworkshop, with the current release of 10197! What happened was there was a pricing error when 10185 was first released for Australians - instead of $AUD250, it was listed as $AUD150 - so I bought 4 instead of 2! Hence the extra floors. I love this layout so much I still have it set up, over 18 months later, which is rare. It definitely can be economical to add these floors via BL if you find the right seller. Just this week I bought the parts for another 4x 10197 Fire Brigade middle floors, which on BL cost me just about the same as buying 1x of the regular set (now at $AUD280). Probably if you're in the US the prices don't look as attractive since you tend to pay less for sets anyway - so bricklink prices look high to you - but with the Australian dollar strong again, when US sets are parted out on bricklink, it is very attractive for non-US buyers to scoop up the extra parts needed. I would definitely recommend buying extra floors if you can do it and have the time to sift through the inventory pages working out what you need - the effect is well worth it!

I'm bumping this topic as I just saw this beautifully integrated layout on brickshelf - I'd post the pic but it's way too large (3000x2000 pixels plus). It manages to combine all the modular sets (including the new Fire Brigade), 10184 Town Plan, 7641 City Corner and even a 10194 Emerald Night and it all looks amazing and well-balanced. I think the addition of a park as an open space really lets all the detailed sets breathe nicely.
  4. How can you have me? I don't even have a sigfig One day. Soon! I'm too indecisive.
  5. I'd say highly unlikely since (a) it's part of a flickr set with no indication that this has anything to do with 2010 (b) preliminary images usually feature box art and are watermarked with CONFIDENTIAL (c ) prelim images are usually one-shot deals only and do not feature multiple angles of the sets in question. I am pretty sure this is just a MOC. I will rename this thread so as not to get peoples hopes up.

Topic merged. Since these are preliminary pics clearly marked CONFIDENTIAL, *DO NOT* create separate topics advertising this fact or post the pics directly in the Licensed forum. Deeplinks to image hosting sites and continued discussion are allowed.

Thanks for the pics! Not really my cup of tea, but the green army set is a must have and I quite like the look of that Wild West town. The oversize Zurg and Buzz - is it possible these are the Duplo versions? It would be a new twist for Duplo, I admit, but we haven't seen any of those pics yet.

Members who are 'Taking a Break' have won a ticket to the dread destination known as 'the Chamber'. If they come out alive, and reformed, they can continue their Eurobricks career. Then they're kind of on parole for a while. If they keep on misbehaving, they will be 'Banned'. Of course, some members or spammers can go straight to 'Banned' status - do not pass go, do not collect $200 - it's all a question of the gravity of the offence.
  9. I KEEP HEARING ABOUT REVIEWS OF THESE SETS BUT I DON'T SEE ANY, PRINCESS. Get crackin'.
  10. *Schmelt struggles into an upright position, coughing blood. He still has life enough to say a few final words....* IF I should die, think only this of me; That there's some corner of a cornfield That is forever Eggo-free. There in Willoughby With its Town Council well concealed; Will lie my schmelted remains, tended by my dear pony. I shall end my days as I lived - well-marinated, Yes, sadly fooled by Mayor Murder's baloney, And then filleted, roast on a spit, and BBQ'd, not cremated. Praise be! *ack*
  11. Svelte replied to Klaus-Dieter's post in a topic in LEGO Star Wars
Endor is way overpriced here, but it still gets my vote. Brilliant figs, well-designed AT-ST, useful parts, lots of play features. It has everything I want in a Star Wars set. The AT-OT/ Dropship is amazing and would be next on my list - fantastic design for both components of the set, with a clever linking feature, and visually unsurpassed. The scale is also pretty good in terms of balancing a large vehicle with minifigs. (By which I mean it doesn't look obviously wrong, like the snug Venator or the Tantive IV). I don't see how anyone could be voting for the Tantive IV for top spot - how many have even built it yet? For all you know it topples over when you so much as look at it! And I still think the office was a bad interior choice. An iconic set should have featured the iconic scene. Do AFOLs or kids really love to roleplay bureaucracy! Isn't that why so many people disliked the trade federation laden prequel trilogy? 'The Death Star approaches, Princess Leia! We must escape!' 'Wait a minute - I just have to finish signing these documents - in triplicate.' For the others... I agree with Jimbee that Dooku's Solar Sailer set is really nice, and I love the AAT as well. The RAS also surprised me by being a fun build and impressive to look at. All in all, a good year for Star Wars - not as brilliant as 2008 but looking better than the 2010 Jan lineup of repeats.
  12. Thanks Ricecracker! I knew there was one around somewhere.
  13. Lovely pics, prateek! A building with dark red/ pink accents would be fantastic. It may raise a few eyebrows but it would also be a kick in the pants for the line! Is there an inspiration thread around anywhere? It would be nice if there was one place where people could share their inspiration pics in one place as a visual reference.
  14. Svelte replied to JCC1004's post in a topic in Forum Information and Help
Thanks JCC1004! It's a lovely colour - I like the green brick too!
  15. Probably from inside your head? So, Mayor Murder really is wicked. And to think I trusted him! I never suspected for a moment! He was polite, calm and assured, unlike the rest of you freaks. Anyhoo, he only really tried to kill that harlot Jimbee, so whatevs. I bet you'd like a nice chef working for you? Eating 'Children of the Corn' brand grits must get repetitive? And Oprah has a personal chef - why don't you? Let's discuss some recipe ideas! *Schmelt leans closer on the pretext of discussing Belgian delicacies, whilst planning to make a lunge for the gun*
  16. Whilst we hurtle towards certain death, would any remaining Town Council members care to explain who the dead woman was, who Elizabeth Rose Thornton was, who the dead people in the mill were, why you wanted to keep her from leaving, who the train saboteur was aboard the EE, and what was the purpose of stranding us in Willoughby in the first place? Come on, it will pass the last few seconds we have in this world. Anyone? I guess I didn't want to do this... but since it looks as if we're all heading to the great beyond anyway... *Schmelt reaches into his chef's hat and pulls out a knife* Don't panic! *Schmelt pulls an apple out of the hat and starts peeling it* I hate to die on an empty stomach. And I'm not sharing!
  17. So are we safe? What's happening? Who is dead? Who is alive! I'm not sure who's more dangerous - Eleanor or the Town Council! *Schmelt cowers fearfully*
  18. The mould reduction already happened. This isn't new.
  19. It's a 'bon' mot bonanza!
  20. I'm a mafia noob, but I wish to toss my mink cravat into the ring!
  21. Svelte replied to YG-49's post in a topic in Community
    Bon appetite Bonaparte! Happy birthday!
  22. I wouldn't panic about the reduction of different moulds - that's old news and happened a while back. It also explains the reduced colour palette. As you can see from all the lines released in 2009, Lego is not averse to reusing existing old moulds (like a lot of stuff in the Pirates line) or producing great new moulds - like the spyglass, new flame/ plume, cows, the new SP3 minifig heads and headgear, Ewoks, new Technic pieces...
  23. What's the point of posting this comment, Big Cam? You're apparently from Iceland so why comment on the reading habits of New Yorkers when you have nothing constructive to say about the article itself? If you don't have anything meaningful to add to the discussion, don't post.
  24. There has been a lot of discussion about the desire for a large scale Indy set. Indeed, I personally would love to see a UCS set in any theme BUT Star Wars. I really wouldn't want to see a UCS vehicle though - we're already vehicled out! I'd much rather they lavish the same attention to detail (and piece count) to some ancient ruins, temple or something like Pankot Palace. Whenever I think zeppelin, I also think this set: It would be interesting to see how they get over the weight problem since bricks are denser than helium!
  25. As you so charmingly put it, 'FAIL'! The jack in the box/ avvie pix aren't on Brickshelf! Maybe I should sell exclusive prints, hm? I doubt anyone but moi will have the full set of 24 when they're all done. The Troll Mahal - I'd forgotten about that. I don't know if it's worth posting now. It was done more in celebration of the Castle Advent release.
