  1. I didn't hike all this freaking way from Murder Mill just to march all the way back again! I only agreed to get off the train to do some sunbathing in Willoughby and find me a child bride pony and goddamit, that's what I'm gonna do! *strips to Euro-thong and lies down by the cliffside, sunny-side up* In my chef's notebook, I will record the frequency and duration of Bulldog's tormented screams so we know whether to bother dragging up his body if we ever do get across this impossible chasm.
  2. There has been quality discussion about all the specialty pre-assembled minifig packs, including fridge magnets, games, Castle battlepacks, Vintage Minifig Collections, and things like the Classic Space fig in the classic space bag. I have personally noticed these issues as well, especially with the quality of red, and it has really put me off buying any of these kinds of products. Personally I think the worst aspect is that these figs, especially the army builders, will get mixed into Bricklink lots so future buyers won't know they're getting an inferior product
  3. +1 to Siegfried for fast payment! +1 to Draggy for same. And for being dragadorable.
  4. There is a detailed discussion of parts quality here. Although since these issues seem to be ongoing, perhaps the discussion is better off in the Embassy... Let CopMike decide if it is appropriate, otherwise perhaps one of the mods can merge the thread.
  5. This set is OK, but it's a little plain. It needs a few things to make it really stand out. I suggest: - more printed parts - interior furniture detail - metallic silver swords, maybe armour as well. shame it didn't come with a black sword. - an action catapult in the tree-boughs, maybe with giant pine cones (2x2 round brown bricks?) - flick-fire missiles! hahaah! Only kidding! This set is perfect just as it is, with a clever simplicity of concept and execution that surpasses all attempts to dress mutton up as lamb by adding all the unnecessary frivolities that often get thrown on in set design these days. The fact that the figs are absolutely stunning doesn't hurt either. This set is definitely a must-have and really deserves classic status. Lovely review, Mr Fang!
  6. Interesting news, Whittleberry! Thanks for the links.
  7. Sounds like a plan! But how will we transport the wood back here? Also, you can let Arin and Jimbee drop before we do anything to rescue the others
  8. Thanks for that brilliant review! This set always looked sort of average to me, but like Erds I was unaware of that amazing function! You have stimulated my interest such that I will have to go look at the instructions now. Lovely bright and clear pics too!
  9. Mr Tools, that is hilarious, but even photoshopped confidential images are not allowed! You can re-edit your post with deeplinks though

This is only the Jan list so far. I imagine it will be like 09, where Construction was released at the start of the year, and Farm in March/April. This list also probably doesn't include exclusives, which I assume amazon.de doesn't normally get if their competitors are selling them.

  12. Too late now! Let's just keep on talking and hope noone notices *whistles* Well, new minifig parts or not, I find this theme completely disappointing. And yes, I'm going to base this opinion off the one pic we have and all the vehicle-related set names! Change the colour scheme and this could too easily be another Power Miners set - small stubby vehicle with giant wheels and useless claw and blade pieces. As someone pointed out earlier, why does an undersea craft have wheels? I was looking forward to a more fantastic, underwater city type theme but I guess I was living in la-la land More giant vehicles and mutant creatures! At least the 2007 Aquaraiders sets were somewhat brickbuilt with nicely designed sea life (esp the squid and shark) but I don't have any confidence that we will see similar pseudo-realistic creatures here - they just don't seem to fit with the aesthetic.
  13. Well, at least those gators down there look like they're having a nice lunch. Look at those jaws crunch! Oh, feisty! *gives cold stares to the hand-holding Jimbee and Arin*

Beautiful! It's great to see some 'modern' architectural shapes. The interplay of curves and inclines here are simple, dramatic, elegant. Good to see the zombie hearse of the future is still flying around too

Happy birthday Cracker O' the Rice and SirNadroj! Have wonderful birthdays!
  16. Don't blow it up so much, Striker! Now we can see the 'Confidential' watermark which means it will get taken down

It would make sense, since these are Jan releases only and (a) Lego never releases so many City subtheme sets at once (b) lower set numbers generally mean Duplo - currently system City sets are numbered in the 7xxxs (as these ones are). Split like this the list looks like: CITY Lego 7206 - City Fire Department helicopter Lego 7207 - City Fire Department Boat Lego 7208 - Big City Fire Department Station Lego 7213 - City fire fighting truck with boat Lego 7684 - City-enclosure piglets with tractor CITY DUPLO Lego 3177 - City runabouts Lego 3178 - City seaplane Lego 3179 - City car repair Lego 3180 - City tank truck Lego 3182 - Big City Airport

It's more likely to be the new PF lightbricks as found in the Creator sets and the Agents: Mobile Command Centre from last year. At least with these ones you can change the battery. Indeed, it probably is the same yellow one as found in the Mobile Command Centre. If it was any more complex than that (which I don't think it is), they would plaster the PF orange logos all over the box art, like they did with the Carousel.
  19. Ummm.... nice logo.
  20. Thanks for this list, The Cobra! 620 Blue Baseplate eh? Woo! A thousand Pirates fans just wet their pants.
  21. 2010 sets from Amazon.de POWER MINERS Lego 8188 - Power Miners Lavaflitzer Lego 8189 - Magma Power Miners runners Lego 8190 - Power Miners mini-monster grabs Lego 8191 - Monster Power Miners jail

Lego 7684 - City-enclosure piglets with tractor Lego 7206 - City Fire Department helicopter Lego 3178 - City seaplane Lego 3177 - City city runabouts Lego 3179 - City car repair Lego 7213 - City fire fighting truck with boat Lego 3182 - Big City Airport Lego 3180 - City tank truck Lego 7207 - City Fire Department Boat Lego 7208 - Big City Fire Department Station Piglets - woo! Looks like a very plausible list to me. Thanks Christian!
  23. There has been some discussion about whether the chair mould has been changed by Lego in recent years (like the loosening of the 1x1 round antenna base thingy). If you own the 10195 AT-OT for example, it is extremely annoying that the Clones do not seem able to sit still and constantly pop off the dark green chairs. There was some debate about whether this was due to weak minifig legs or an adjusted chair mould, since some chairs seem to extert a stronger pull on minifig behinds, but I don't think it was ever resolved.
  24. That sounds like a fail-safe plan Brilliant! See - Jimbee is innocent, all ye naysayers?
  25. Maybe I'm just too used to PR speak, but this news doesn't really say anything at all. The game and sets will 'continue' in 2010 - but they don't specify there will be new ones. For all we know they just mean the Summer 2009 lineup will continue to be sold in 2010. Also, the disclaimer paragraph seems like a future get out clause to me - 'we don't comment on future products, but we are constantly evaluating licences to see which ones are most successful' - with the implication being that the axe could fall at any time. Why put this lengthy disclaimer in if the foundations of the line were rock solid? EDIT: To support my argument, the Lego Ambassador who reported this news actually asked the exact same question - will there be new sets or just the old ones continuing? For some reason I can't quote his individual post, but you can see the whole discussion here: http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?...;Number=3869739 Scroll down to the third-last post. Indy is dead, people!
