  1. My, what a beautiful train! Mayor Brown, do you know anything about it? Was it the local service? Is it still around somewhere? My first instinct when confronted with a large painting is to check behind it for a safe. Can I do that? Somebody should check the plastic flowers, too. Off in the distance last night I could have sworn I heard the rumble of thunder and some odd green flashing lights. The arrival of the Triffids? The Nestene consciousness? I think we should be cautious around plastic plants. Just sayin'. Jim is still the leader, so I think he can choose which room to explore first, unless anyone else has strong objections. Be mindful that Jennifer Chamberlain may have left a trail here too.
  2. So we must be super-vigilant in looking out for possible X-rated clues. Excellent! Jimbee is feeling better, so I say we proceed to the Town Hall now and give it a good once-over. How now, Mayor Brown?
  3. Since Jimbee is feeling better, I say we advance directly to the hotel, do not pass go, do not collect $200! Let's all resolve to stick together. I don;t get the feeling that it has helped anyone else to split up. Jennifer Connolly stayed at the hotel in '08? Wow, this conspiracy runs deeper than I thought Good thing I brought my hamper including portable battery-operated waffle-maker, since the voice doesn't want us to have breakfast Don't worry; I can cook as I walk. *Schmelt hums as he starts preparing Insta-Eggos*
  4. Well, Jim didn't seem to think that the dry wall had anything to do with his new malaise. The voice in the sky also said that it was later, there was a tingling in his ear, and then he felt ill and vomited everywhere. I'm not a doctor, but does that sound like concussion? I thought concussion was when you felt a bit vague and bumped into the walls a bit, not vomiting and losing most of your life-points! I mean, he's lucid and quite capable of conversation, he doesn't seem distracted or mentally impaired. I still think you should look for a medical kit. It seems much more likely to me that he was poisoned to distract us from our investigations than some spider decided to use his ear as a poison-toilet A medical kit might be handy if we have further problems. Plus, it might contain a bottle of (purely medicinal) brandy! When Jim is ready, those remaining here can go and check out room 6.
  5. Poor Jimbee! It sounds like some Shakespearean plot - poison administered by dripping it in the ear - see Hamlet! Either that, or I'm pretty sure that's how Mary got pregnant with the baby Jesus I'm no expert, but I would imagine that such a method of poisoning someone would leave little evidence. I would like to examine Jimbee's head, if I may. That didn't sound quite right but you know what I mean! I really don't know much about poisons - I am more of a pepper expert - so I don't know if the effect of such a poison would be ongoing, ie are Jimbee's life points going to keep reducing if we don't find a solution? Say it ain't so! Since nobody has mentioned qualified doctors, maybe there is something in Main Street that would help us. Mayor Non-Murder, would you have something like a medical kit in your office or at the Town Hall? I am happy to stay with Jimbee if Arin is going to visit the Town Hall. If he is feeling better then the three of us here might wish to revisit the dreaded Room 6 since in last night's confusion neither the Constable or I had a good look around. Anyway, as a final comment, whoever is trying to throw us off the scent is doing a damn fine job!
  6. No, all the SP3 sets are there. The best way to see what is new is to visit the 'products launched' page: http://shop.lego.com/WhatsNew/ProductsLaunched2009.aspx?va=1
  7. It was also a buy two, get one free deal at Myer today on toys if anyone missed it. Hopefully S@H will update with prices soon. Does anyone know what 6194 My Lego Town is supposed to be?

I guess the main question is, is it stronger than the 6211 - ie, do bits keep dropping off if you move it around? To be honest, this set looks like a bit of a mess to me. The added play features seem kind of ugly - little square bomb boxes or strange pilot access points - and don't feel as if they integrate very well into the set at all. At least the 6211 had a decent interior, where this seems to be more of a Technic frame in which play-boxes have been forcibly inserted. The ridiculous price for the amount of minifigs is also well-documented. There's only 2 new ones. They could have at least thrown in some extra Senate guards. The Indy Ambush in Cairo set has four completely new figs in a US $11 set so I don't buy arguments that these things are so incredibly expensive that they throw out the production cost so enormously. On the upside, I love Palpy's desk!
  9. Please post some pics here of your display if you have the time for those of us trapped on the eastern seaboard! It's always good to see what antipodean AFOLs are up to, if rarely easy to see it all in person!
  10. Yes, I've noticed both these problems. The antenna on Robo Attack are very loose, and I have noticed it on other 09 sets. Minifig legs also don't stay on chairs very well - the clones popping off like hot popcorn from the AT-OT is the most irritating manifestation of this - but is this a problem with chairs or the legs, as the latter seem to stick fine to normal studded areas?
  11. That's David Gaylord for you, always shoving his old junk in everyone's faces
  12. Good point, I never owned any of those sets so I'm not really familiar with how the factions were organised
  13. Svelte replied to Erdbeereis's post in a topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I just assumed they were perpetually out of gas, and always toting around fuel siphons
  14. What do they say? "If thine eye offend thee, pluck it out." If thy johnson obsesses thee, tug pull jerk chop it off.
  15. Svelte replied to Erdbeereis's post in a topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Poor Erds has had a mind-melt from jetlag. His poll choices are all topsy-turvy too
  16. Was your Troll King's crown reddish-brown or metallic?
  17. Svelte replied to Erdbeereis's post in a topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Yay for the review! Boo for recycling your exact same intro from the other SP Impulse review! I love that little doggie. It's exactly what an Impulse should be - one fig and something simple, brick-built but cool that you don't necessarily see anywhere else. (Yes, I'm looking at you, endless fire hydrants.)
  18. Yay for the Cutlassass!
  19. I think the Lego pics are more likely to be wrong than the officially produced set, as they are usually done way in advance. The Dadster also reported a brown crown, although you're right, there could be some mix up. Since this is a specially produced colour for this piece (ie the crown is not a common piece usually produced in a wide variety of shades where substitutions generally take place) I tend to doubt it's just a mistake. Bricklink also seems to think the crown is reddish-brown too. My set came from the US, it will be interesting to see what Euro-buyers find. I think I prefer the reddish-brown plain version anyway - it seems appropriate somehow
  20. Will it be open? I was sad when I was in the UK in Oct/ Nov 07 and Windsor was closed for the season... Boo!
  21. No, I'm pretty sure it's open to everyone. Rewards cardholders get extra bonus points and a special invitation to the launch but that's it Even the Saturday sale the other week ended up being open to everyone.
  22. Good job you Farm guys are picking all this info up! You will be well-versed to deliver the calves from that enormously pregnant cow when you finally get out into the fields
  23. I have to say, I'm finding this mystery most educational. Before today, I would never have known a johnson from a rod if it slapped me right in the face! It's great to see The Brickster so dedicated to improving our general knowledge in this way Yes, Arin. The pony is safe... for the moment
  24. I appreciate the criticism of wasted space, but I think it is exaggerated here and in the Hoth review where the parts are shoved as tightly together as possible. Lego parts come pre-scratched and damaged enough as it is these days - would you like to see this even worsed by compressing the parts as tightly as possible? There needs to be some room in boxes to fit manuals, sticker sheets, and parts bags with enough air so they aren't constantly rubbing against each other In The Brick magazine, Lego did say they had reduced packaging by an average of 7% and standardised box sizes somewhat, so the boxes from the summer wave are what we will be seeing for the forseeable future. Thanks for the nice review, though! This set has really grown on me, and I like the idea of the evolving Y-Wing
  25. Another post, but Myer has a special 'pre-sales Sale' on Tuesday 2 June from 5.30pm at all stores. 25% off toys. O Lego gods, would it be too much to ask to get something new in-store by then? Please? Even if it was a SP3 Impulse - just something small?
