  1. Vell, vot have we learned? a) The killer of Eleanor's fiance is probably aboard this train, whether he or she is aware of it or not, and no doubt her thirst for revenge needs to be slaked by murder, bloody murder, nothing less and nothing more; b) Confirmed nerd in group girly action shock! Now, if there is nothing else, I will start work on the dinner menu *sung the the tune of 'Xanadu'*: A fillet where nobody dared to go, the taste that causes a warm glow They call it Caribou Caribou, Caribou.... whooo-ooooooh....

Beautiful! This makes up for the less than impressive than Advent Calendar for City. It's nice to have a larger scale Xmas tree whichis brick-built and the house is delightful. However that Jester hat is on the list with those trans Bionicle eyes as 'Most Overrused Piece of 2009'
  3. No, silly, the diamond gets plugged anywhere there's a spare orifice. Like so:
  4. Similar, but not identical. I think I like the green one a little better. The problem with the dark bley click joints is they don't really blend in at all with the new colour scheme. I think the head on the old one is a bit more menacing, and the wings look larger too.
  5. The solution is alimentary, dear Watson, alimentary. Are you really suggesting what I think you're suggesting? If so, I am definitely not volunteering to search there.
  6. Well, is there anywhere else on the train that would make a good hiding place, NOT including the passengers rooms? (That would be an unspeakable violation of privacy - and unspeakable violations of privacy is really the passengers' area of expertise , hello Herman and Bulldog!) What about the coal-chute? Doesn't someone always stuff the diamonds in the coal-chute? Excellent idea. I'm squeamish though, somebody else can do it. *remembers he needs to disembowel the eels for tomorrow's dinner*
  7. Congratulations! May you be blessed with many baby Her-mans and He-womans! Actually, now that I think of it, since the knife has been locked up, and it doesn't appear as if harm has befallen anyone we know or don't know, the only mystery would be 'Who or where is Elizabeth Thornton'? I heard rumours that she may have been travelling with a valuable possession on board. But if she's not here, then that is irrelevant, no?
  8. That question about the lockers is a good one... Actually, I don't think you'll find any reference to me drinking anything. (Well, apart from the kirsch in the mousse.) Your powers of observation being what they are, what else would you like to know? I haven't the faintest idea... :skull:
  9. I agree; the pond is a really great addition. It's probably my favourite part of the set I guess the colour scheme of tan and red would make a nice farmhouse for those who have the City sets.
  10. The 6752 and 6573 look great - nice to see some big brick-built rigs for non Technic fans. The dragon doesn't look so hot with all those click joints and not much to the body. The house does nothing for me either. The window shutters are one of the ugliest pieces produced in recent memory and it looks kind of unfinished with the roof slopes (due to the lack of the smooth pieces on top). The house itself looks oddly proportioned
  11. No private discussions at lunch! It's what the Voice would want. Of course, if you refuse to share anything with the rest of us, it just makes you look more suspicious... Not that I'm hinting at anything mind you. ... *hint* *hint*
  12. The voice in the sky has spoken to me! (As opposed to the voice in my head.) As head chef aboard the Emerald Express, I demand that the people here start bringing some FACTS to the TABLE! (My dining table, that is.) There is a lot of vishpering going on, not to mention enough dynamic movements to galvanise Frankenstein's Monster! Perhaps some sharing of these private discussions and clue finding over my deliciously prepared lunch might be a good idea and benefit us all on zis mysterious journey. I zink we shoud all share one FACT (not opinion, rumour, innuendo or gossip) that we have learned since we have been on board. To facilitate discussion, maybe we should also ask one QUESTION that has been concerning us. I will start first. FACT: Conductor Max was discovered rifling through the passenger lockers in the dead of night. QUESTION: why???
  13. It's true And, anyvone that doesn't get to the table in the next ten minutes doesn't eat! I am sick of letting my lovingly-prepared meals go cold while the passengers stand around and quack like baby ducks!
  14. 25% off toys for Myer One rewards cardholders, Saturday only in most metro locations.

More ultra-generic figs They really need to start over with City figs. Delete all the current prints and just start again! I applaud including rarer figs like the chef when we can't get them in normal sets, but this year we have that fig in a cheap Impulse. So now he's here dressed as half-chef, half maitre'd? It doesn't make sense. The snowman looks recycled from last year too. Disappointingly bland

Congrats to all the winners! They were all brilliant, but of course I have a soft spot for the ones I voted for Bald walruses give me nightmares, I don't care what millinery you adorn them with.
  17. I was under the impression that all you passengers were invited by Elizabeth Thornton. Don't you all know her? Perhaps you should tell each other how you came to get an invite, perhaps there is some connection linking you all that you are as yet unaware of. Just a thought
  18. Them's the brakes, kid. Ha-ha! See what I did there? Oh, my Euro-wit. It amazes even me. I am so happy to see all you boys getting on so well now, with the constant goings off for intimate chit-chats and private tours of enclosed spaces. Magnifique! I wish I could say the same for the femmes, but they seem to prefer to keep to themselves. It is so nice to have a, how you say, feeling of fraternitie aboard this train. Indeed, apart from that one incident yesterday, it has been a pleasure-ride for all. And just look at that San Remo countryside pass us by! Tres beautiful! The LUNCH menu has now been announced. Today we will be dining on hearty vlaamse stoofkarbonaden (Flemish beef and beer stew), served with fresh-baked sourdough bread, with a strawberry and kirsch mousse for dessert.

Multiple P:Squiddies and a few other new SP3/ Agents figs from Mr Nannan.
  20. Pancakes, omelettes and fresh coffee have been served. Enjoy!
  21. Well, you can order the Guggenheim now from Adam's own site. I love Fallingwater, I will definitely get that one at some point. I like that the series is a success and becoming more detailed.
  22. I means you need to listen to more Beatles songs. Loved the Night Moves! Hilarious!
  23. Certainly, I will join you. It's not like I have anything better to do! After all, I am the chef and it is breakfast time! What else could I possibly be doing? In my experince, the quickest way to a woman's heart is through her stomach. Normally I would suggest a romantic breakfast in bed of champagne and strawberries dipped in chocolate, but she probably has installed a satellite weapons defence system above her door now after last night's experiences. If you like I can chocolate-dip some Eggos for you and giftwrap them to really grab her attention! (Damnable Americans and their obsession with pre-made Eggos! *grumble*) Yes, after I finish my other private conversation initiated at the whim of a guest, I shall certainly speak to you, Jim Butcher. After all, I have nothing else to do... Oh wait, what's that you say? I'm the chef and I have a backorder of 20 Eggos to cook? Really? *sigh* Lunch and dinner menus will be posted shortly.

Well, we had an AFOL oriented Advent Calendar last year, and the 10193 Medieval Market Village this year, so I don't think Castle AFOL fans are doing too badly. The occasional set designed to appeal to kids doesn't bother me Parts-wise it's one of those sets that all you really need is an AAT (for the curved navy blue) and some bricklinked giant wheels and you could build this at home from existing parts if you were curious (but not curious enough to fork over $20 for it).

I doubt the king fig has that much to do with price. Drawbridge Defence has exclusive figs without being so pricey. I for one think it's great that the King fig has been included in one of the smaller sets. Not all kids can afford the massive flagship Castle so this lets them have access to the King at a cheaper pricepoint. When was the last King figure released? 2007 in King's Castle Siege? That set was only available on store shelves for a month or two in Australia, so there are probably a lot of younger builders out there who would like to add him to their collection. Also, 2 years isn't much for AFOLs but is practically a geological era for kids Is it too hard to use the special printing and build up a special Royal Guard if for some reason you do find yourself with an excess of King figs? I personally don't like this set much but I don't think all the king-bashing is justified.
