  1. The motor does work a bit, it tries to move with just the motor, but it isn't powerful enough to pull a carriage. It has almost no power at all. I will give it a run at the weekend and see if it warms up. Thanks! Thanks for all your useful replies, I've just ordered one 60051 to see how it goes!
  2. I do apologise if this has been asked before, I've tried searching and couldn't find anything. I recently got my old 12v High Speed Train (7745) and track out of storage so my daughter and I could play with it but the motor no longer works. I am considering buying two X 60051 sets to make one extra long 60051 and then using the extra motor to power the 7745. I've done some reading and it seems that the old 12v track and the new track is largely compatible with a few extra bricks to join the two types of track together (I won't bother with the metal central rails for the 12v track since it is pointless without the 12v motor). From looking at videos it seems that the 60051 motor will fit the 7745 with a bit of modification to fit the battery pack inside the 7745. Before I take the plunge and buy them can you confirm that this will work? If it works then we'll have an instant massive layout with two working trains! I've got a load of 12v track and the 9v track from two 60051 sets would be very nice.
