I feel a bit stupid now having rushed out and bought the QAR for AUD 150 from Target. Wondering if I should buy this one from the hut and then with receipt return it to target as I've already opened and built the one I bought. Does this actually work? Or are the barcodes different? This will teach me for being overly-enthusiastic...

*WARNING SPOILERS* Haha I totally agree with red bricks Having watched the film, I'm wondering whether the lego designers did before phoning it in with this set. There's so much more they could have done with it, especially considering the arrival of the spanish. To not even have the chalices present here is abysmal. I'll still buy it though

Just a great review. Really enjoyed reading it even though I had already built and bought the set. I have to say this set probably depicts my favourite scene from all three (not a mistake) Indy movies, and I was really excited to buy it. I had such a fun time putting it all together and i think the size of the whole set really makes it something to behold at the end of making it. I feel like your criticisms of the set are all pretty valid. I really would have loved to have the mine cart chase and temple put into separate sets because there is a lot of lego action potential unfulfilled. I think probably my biggest suggestion to lego wouldve been to design a fork section of track and two parallel tracksfor a short section so we could have recreated dangling Short Round between two carts. I also feel to have Willie in the set but not include the sacrificial cage was disappointing. The mechanism from the film and the cage dangling would've been a perfect addition considering the height of the temple piece. I think there should have also been a conveyor belt where Indy has his fight with the foreman so we can re-enact his crushing victory (terrible pun i know). I also feel like a little maharajah figure would not have gone amiss here. Even though I hate that kid. I'm so glad Lego chose to make this into a set but also dream of what could have been.

Just bought this set today (my first potc set) and cannot wait to build it! Im thinking about buying the QAR as well because target have got it for 150AUD which is still might expensive but i'd hate to miss out and have to buy it for RRP which is 200AUD.
