  1. Awesome work @Captain_Quinn! That blue wireframe artwork is very nice!
  2. Awesome work guys! So fun to see more people build this!
  3. Really cool to see another build of my design realized in the brick! Achilles is great! I love that you gave it another of the Omega Class names. Out of curiosity, did you increase the length of the two rectangular front facing mine launchers (under the 3x round domed "tanks" under the fighter launch bay) from 3 studs long to 4 studs long?
  4. The motor is centered with the turntable vertically, but is offset horizontally. I think a direct drive would be simplest, but I'm not sure how to stabilize the axle. You're correct the distance is quite far and would subject the axle to a lot of twisting and bending. Just at the very early stages with this. Haven't put a lot of thought into it yet.
  5. Started the process of trying to motorize the Agamemnon. Not sure how well it will end up working since the initial build didn't envision adding motors whatsoever. So far, good news is that a large size power functions motor fits in the frame with only minor modifications. Challenges as I see them right now will be to figure out how to drive the inner teeth of the back most turntable and if the overall friction on the rotating section is going to be too hard for the motor.
  6. I think the red really helps make the bow section look more accurate. Doing a Battlestar is on my eventual to do list. Nice work!
  7. I agree, picking an obvious "off" color for the internal parts is a great idea, and will probably end up saving people some bricklink costs. Good stuff!
  8. Hi guys! So cool to see so much interest in my original design. Quinn, your re-designs are looking super good, and actually a lot more structurally sound than my original. :) I'm actually planning to revisit my MOC soon in an effort to motorize it, but I think its going to take some fairly fundamental re-designs of some of the internal structure to make it happen. The power function motors have already been bought and are sitting on my desk though! Cheers guys! Ryan
