  1. Anyone know why the single cars are 20, but a double car pack is 50? In older SC series they are least included some props…
  2. Interesting how these launched with zero fan far, no blogs even mentioned it when listing all the new sets… The Ford set says “coming soon” on US lego.con.
  3. Is it just me, or do these look more like knock-offs, not original lego… I can’t imagine these are the same speed champions designers. The smaller ones from a couple years ago look better than any of these… though I appreciate they tend to look a bit better in person usually… I’ll still buy them all in the name of being complete but I’m just not excited about any of them.
  4. I’m just surprised a set is sitting in a retailer back room with a release date months in advance, and no spy shots leaked?! I now wouldn’t be at all surprised if there is more we don’t know...
  5. curious what their first formula one car will look like at this scale... and if the Fast and Furious license will be at the same scale...
  6. Ugh, those wheels look too small.
  7. I guess the Part count hints of what the other sets are. If it’s 8 wide for the others.
  8. Sounds about right, not many more pieces can be used, Speed champions has already gotten as granular as they can requiring lots of stacking flat pieces too.
  9. Interesting how they all have so many “extra” or higher parts count for single sets. It’s not like we’re contemplating a single odd part count set. Whats the highest part count of a really well done moc? Anywhere close to these part counts? Minus 20% possibly being for props Speed champions have always grown in complexity, not reduced. Sometimes a bit arbitrary like 3 flat 1x1 instead of a full size 1x1.
  10. That looks quite nice, I wonder why they did the odd looking “skateboarding” of them in the first place. Even a casual observer wonders what’s going on with the rims.
  11. Anyone noticed how shifting the windshield up one row of bricks looks WAY better and more authentic to the dimensions? regardless, I do hope we see sets spring up as cross promotion with Forza Horizon. Microsoft put a lot of money and promotion into the speed champions DLC... But I’m a bit concerned that the Speed Champions team is only 3 people, and any interviews with them seem to intentionally avoid asking the obvious “What’s the plan for the future of the series?” But the ROI on only 3 people plus some marketing and custom parts has to be huge.
  12. I think of all the speed champions the AMG GT3, and Mustang road car were the furthest off. Both too narrow and long, but at certain angles looks ok.
