  1. Could the Renolt rally car that was in LEGO ideas be a possible addition? Not officially speed champions but perhaps using a slot as next years LEGO car offerings? its a stretch, but it is the same scale and theme...
  2. If Target and Walmart are now carrying them this is great news! And sales will be MUCH higher! TRU went out of business for a reason, and locking up any series exclusives to a toy only store is very limited. Especially this product line.
  3. I guess when there is real information to share a proper 2019 thread will be started here.
  4. Makes sense, this thread was started back in mid July 2017 so perhaps we’ll learn more sooner than later. And perhaps that will trigger a new thread to be started.
  5. Isn’t it about this time of year when leaks start slipping out for next years lineup? Even if just verbal ones from trusted sources?
  6. How interesting that the entire “Friends” series this year is all about go kart racing. I wonder what marketing data suggested that? Not a single veterinarian or pony stable. Id have loved all these in the city or speed champions theme.
  7. I need more speed champions... any hint or suggestion at another set or series of sets still in 2018? Sorta like they did with McLaren 570 last year?
  8. Looking forward to seeing that. Sounds cool.
  9. So I ordered them all last night. But what was odd they had the listings but no images, and zero promo email, just some other LEGO ip’s for a few days from now email. In fact, I think I’ve only ever seen one promo of a SC set since the new wave of licensed cars...
  10. All of these kits should be on LEGO shop in a few hours. Time to cash out on all the VIP points!
  11. The F1 Ferrari of last wave had both Vettle and Ricoden numbers, and 2 different colored helmets for each. This is the best way to get us to buy multiple copies with minimal cost. The 4 green pieces for the stickerless Mustang would have also been a must buy for 2.
  12. I really enjoy Jangbricks videos but I can’t help but wonder about his wife, and what she thinks, as what is clearly their living room, fireplace and all, is loaded with legos... every time I watch his videos. But I love how he isn’t sponsored by LEGO and has become so popular on his own.
  13. It would be nice if LEGO included the 4 pieces to make the non stickers version of the mustang. Sorta how they did the street and GT bumper for the AMG. I wonder if the classic Ferrari looks just as good without stickers?
  14. Wow! It sure does look great without stickers. I think you just convinced me to order 2 of them... now the 68 Camaro has a partner. Defiantly looking forward to those Ferrari comparisons.
  15. Awesome! Looking forward to those shots! It does appear that LEGO loosened up on there building restrictions on this next wave. Are they as solid? Or are there small bits that can more easily be knocked off?
  16. It’s just so strange because non of the other speed champs as that gratuitously blatant about LEGO branding... I mean, it’s clearly a LEGO so...
  17. Really don’t understand why they put that big LEGO logo on the hood of the mustang... would have looked great without it.
  18. https://www.thebrickfan.com/ford-takes-a-look-at-the-lego-speed-champions-mustang-fastback/ excelent pics of the mustang here.
  19. LEGO loves to brag about being the largest tire manufacturer in the world. And considering they are using rubber of a quality of an RC car it’s pretty valid. The quality in the rubber is so 10+ years from now our little tires aren’t crumbling away. Reguarding “too much grip” - run them over a dusty surface, it sticks to the tires and don’t push down on them too hard. You can even play with a grip coefficient of a traction circle if you’re so inclined. But those grippy feet get pretty loose with a little surface debris, just like real tires.
  20. Good point about the new molds, that is a positive indication. But what I don’t see are these sets in the traditional retailers like toys r us and Walmart so I wonder how much better the series would do if they were more accessible to general consumers.
  21. I find it odd how some of the Speed champions cars look so much better in real life than photos. The latest McLaren looked strange in pics, but is looking like one of the best on the shelf. The only exception is the AMG, looks great in pics, but it’s too long and thin when you hold it in reality to me.
  22. Me too. I guess the only mystery left is whether Speed Champs will continue into 2019, or if there will be a surprise second wave in 2018...
  23. I’m pleased to see the biggest set include 3 cars, vs a bunch of set play pieces in this years lineup. But would also like to see a size between SC and their larger cars to get slightly more detail and proper proportions. But I can also understand the higher price points and licenses might be harder to sell in big numbers, or would they?
  24. Yeah, same shots, but good job on the comparison photos for reference. But I think they grabbed the wrong rally car, but close enough.
