  1. Honestly, I think criticising people who give their opinion on a new set on a forum specifically designed for that very purpose is somewhat strange, although I can sympathise with the idea that some people are perhaps overly harsh about certain very specific features. Then again, we are adults buying toys and it makes sense that all of us are looking for something else from these toys. This opinion nicely puts my feelings into words: great set, day 1 buy, but a bit less brilliant than Ninjago City (which happens to be my all time favourite Lego set).
  2. VERY happy to see the sets linked up as I am going to display them (city, docks, gardens), looks great! Now to wait for my package from Lego to arrive, still in warehouse at the moment.
  3. This! Unsure why this isn't the most obvious way to display the sets for people, the temple island in between docks and garden looks so bad.
  4. REALLY wanting to see all three sets connected together without the island in between, as well as shots from the back. Hoping more reviewers finish building it and show us the good stuff soon! At least Im very happy to get confirmation that those balconies on the left side of the gardens are removable so we can display the sets in any formation as we please.
  5. Got up at midnight to order my copy, it seems out of stock already (6.30 AM here) stating it will be arriving soon...
  6. I was hoping for a Ninjago-themed GWP for the anniversary, but I guess even that is not going to happen. Pretty disappointed with the way Lego is handling 10 years of Ninjago, though of course the gardens set itself is great.
  7. Confused about the way Lego is marketing the gardens, was hoping for some reviews today or tomorrow...
  8. I am a little afraid that one of those balconies will be in the way to make that connection though, but hoping Lego made sure that isn't a problem.
  9. Really excited seeing these details! Pretty annoyed with the ordering of the sections in their example though: the right side of the docks with the vertical drop and cut off walkway looks ridiculous. Looking forward to seeing the gardens connected to the docks without the pagoda section in between and hoping Lego made those balconies customisable so the sets can properly connect like that.
  10. Honestly, the pagoda section is a little disappointing for me. Yes, the titanium ninja is a great bit of fan service, but otherwise it is very bland and feels completely overwhelmed by the sheer mass of the build on the 32x32.
  11. I think this is probably true looking at the pics. Would make sense to me, especially if they are really making more of these, in which case making a designated " end module" would make zero sense imo.
  12. Pretty bizarre that it has not been revealed yet at one week before release, especially with them showing the set in the catalogue. Not sure there is any good reason for this honestly, it takes away a lot of the hype for me personally as I keep checking sources for new pictures but always end up disappointed. In addition, I really enjoy all of the discussion and hype after official reveal but that period will be very short if they don't reveal before the weekend.
  13. This is a Dutch site, I read the article (native speaker) and they are just basing this on the Dutch prices in Euros of the older sets, which include 21% tax in case of The Netherlands. For some reason the quote on the forum here replaced the Euro signs with Dollar signs.
  14. Very excited about the Gardens! Hoping the colours look good next to the other two expansions, bit difficult to judge for now. Also looking forward to seeing some other angles, including more details of the 16x32 baseplate section with the pagoda. When displaying the three sets together as intended, I imagine they would be ordered Gardens, Docks, City from left to right, and the pagoda would be located at the far left, or am I seeing it wrong?
  15. Would be VERY disappointed if this is actually the leaked Ninjago City gardens...
  16. Wow seriously? That set has been 40% off since September over here (Europe)... Last years some of the 1-1.5 year old sets were on discount for 20-30%. I'm hoping for the X-wing to be on sale, still waiting to pick it up and should be just enough to get the GWP.
  17. Dino molds for me! Brick-built animals look ugly to me unless they are very large, which makes their scale an issue. But to each his own of course.
  18. Does explain the absence of Goofy in this series, though it is a shame if his figure were exclusive to some 300 Dollar D2C set :(
  19. I MUCH prefer the set over the original design, the set is a sure purchase for me but I will probably wait until a discount or double points come up as its 20 euros overpriced imo.
  20. Thats is one expensive wave!
  21. Seems very likely now!
  22. Looks super good! Your U-wing is the center piece of my Lego display and though I sadly won't be building this as I do not have room for it, it looks to be of the same quality.
  23. A little disappointed with these sets, was hoping for more "special" sets, but all of these have clear drawbacks that the designers are obviously aware of; from copy-paste designs instead of proper remakes to bland figure selection with very few new or exclusive figs: - Snowspeeder uses old helmets (??!!) and is copy-paste of old design - AT-RT has boring figures we have gotten too many times (a friggin standard battle droid?!) and is copy-paste of old design - Slave-I is too similar to the UCS for me, and looks overpriced. Happy we get Zuckuss! - Podracer is very meh all around, the clear technic "stand" looks ugly, figs are again lackluster - Battle pack is good, but the 33% price-hike is too much This looks like a normal SW wave to me with some retro figs thrown in. These are cool but not must-haves, I am not expecting them to drive sales too much. On the topic of the Snowspeeder helmets: I am not convinced that they are discontinuing the newer style helmet, I think they just cheaped out here (perhaps due to size constrictions, but that means they should have just redesigned the thing instead of lazily copy-pasting an old design).
