Are they the Pao legs? I think they'd look great on an old (tan) Hoth Rebel Trooper, it'd make them look in line with the newer white ones.

yup! for now, the 2nd finn in FO disguise I got in order to make Captain Canady (cheaper than the figure from the star destroyer, but same legs torso and hat) has been repurposed as DJ in FO disguise, but Canady is still on my list. just need to find the perfect head.

I've been going back and forth on this today and I now think if you had wedge's helmet from sw089 and zev senesca's from sw826... Wedge's is probably better for Farns Monsbee after all (with the black/yellow marks on the... peak? and all). When my 2nd one arrives, I think I'll take an eraser to the sides of one of them (as poor old Monsbee has apparently not had much success at shooting down TIEs). Having the phoenix on the top would make it perfect, but I'm not brave enough for drawing/painting on my lego. Torius Chord's helmet is actually very close to the one Zev Senesca uses in ESB, so I made the switcheroo today.

I dislike the colour of the resistance speeder pilot in the MF pack, Nodin Chavdri should be wearing colours much closer to Tallie's... but he doesn't have a neck scarf. what would be the best way to remove the neck scarf from Tallie's body - https://brickset.com/minifigs/sw884/a-wing-pilot-(tallissan-lintra)-(75196) ? It's only a very small patch to remove. Would tape around the edge and some hard scrubbing with an eraser work?

Decided to go for the Major Brance face for Heff Tobber. And then realised I didn't want to buy another Major Brance and be left with a useless torso - or worse, go down the rabbit hole of buying another General Emmett as well to use the head and hair to make him in his Major guise from TFA... Then i realised the head in sw892 is identical and I think I'm happy enough that it doesn't represent anyone closely enough to not swap it out. [edit: just had another look and from the costume it's Sgt Cobel Tansirch but a search doesn't reveal his face]. Hello Heff!

I asked earlier and they said hopefully within the next week or two. Fingers crossed the production goes smoothly, will be ordering as soon as I see them! Should be similar pattern but different colours. Maybe that's the next one Firestar could do. On the one hand, damn them for retconning Wenton Chan out... OTOH at least there'll only be one plain blue firebird helmet (Hard Binli) now. Don't forget Toby Hefferman as Heff Tobber.

The helmets they hold in the visual guide are different from each other. Ralo Surrel's is Red and Black checked, Wion Dillems' is red and white checked.

Add to the fact Paril Ritta isn't a U wing pilot. I agree the stock figure works as Calum Gram. I need good bearded face suggestions for Heff Tober (Blue 8) if anyone has found one?

i'd never noticed that tiny sliver of helmet! But from the angle we're looking at and the tiny amount of helmet on show, it could also be the same as either Chaff Korus (plain helmet, but Red not blue), Pedrin Gaul (Red 5, because the grey under the hump at the side probably wouldn't be visible at that angle), Broan Danurs (for the same reason as Pedrin Gaul. helmet is same as Pops from Gold Squadron... so apparently an option when firestar update their site next, if you don't want a ton of identical helmets) or it could also be the same as Green Twelve's helmet, but that is used elsewhere for another "unidentified x wing pilot". I wonder if some extras were unavailable for reshoots. until there's a face in the right skin tone (without a beard) from either lego or firestar, I probably won't be making him anyway.

I just came across him. His helmet looks pretty exotic, shame it isn't shown in the Visual Guide :( When Merrick address the council, there's another unidentified blue squadron pilot holding that helmet but it is most definitely not Paril Ritta. It looks like it's this guy https://www.imdb.com/name/nm7181893/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t150 to me. I can't find any remotely canon appearances of Paril Ritter/Blue 12 where he even has a helmet... he's not credited in the movie either.

Indeed! There's no chance of lego adding anything into the mix before the end of 2018... so the only people who can move the goalposts now are firestartoys. speaking of which, i keep going back and forth on whether having printed arms for only a couple of pilots would help them stand out in a good way or in a bad way. I was thinking of giving them to Gold Leader, Blue Leader... maybe I'll wait til I can make Red Leader too.

It's sad that the only choices for the myriad headset wearing shuttle pilots/crew/technicians etc. are the closed mouth and open mouth ones lego make... hint hint.

Did Blue squadron have Y wings? I guess they did. I did mention in an earlier comment he was one or the other, but it's odd enough having a group of X wings and U wings together without then having a random Y wing thrown in, especially as we never see him do anything. I'm just worried about the cost! Finishing up Red and Gold squadrons would be 17-18 pairs alone?

He is Blue 12, but he's not a U wing pilot. He is flying an X wing (he has the same chest pack as Blue Leader, Blue 2, Blue 3, Blue 4, etc)

It's like it's totally wrong - just the black goes much further back on that helmet according to the visual guide, and on the sides. Blue 2 is much closer to Wedge's helmet and you didn't list him. Good find. I guess there's either an error in the Rogue One visual dictionary or he changed helmets after moving to Rogue Squadron. Movies trump the books where there's a discrepancy, right?

I think the 2006 Wedge Antilles helmet better represents Blue 2 - Torius Chord. I'm using the Zev Senesca helmet for Anton Merrick, when he comes in the Advent Calendar I'll be repurposing that as Blue 5 (as it's mostly black and the crests are outlines, not printed, so it's less important that they're not visible). 2012 Monochrome dutch vander works better for Blue 3 - Jaldine Gerams. 2007 Dutch Vander helmet would work more for Blue 7 imo. According to the visual dictionary, Parill Rita isn't a U wing pilot. I'd say it better approximates Calum Gram (Blue Nine). Blue 12 is shown in X-wing/Y-wing pilot gear, but no idea what his helmet looks like as he's standing without it. Pretty much this. If you're looking for "Scarif" setups, Pedrin Gaul was Red 5, but wore the same helmet. As someone else mentioned to you, Red 9 is close to the T16 pilot. Canonically, he didn't die at Scarif so he'd be at Yavin as Red 9 also. Red Leader/Red 8 not available yet with nothing really close. Probably this. Derek Klivian is in the Rogue One visual guide with Biggs' helmet (as a standby, meaning he never actually flew in the movie) but it's not necessarily accurate by the time of ESB and I don't think we actually ever see him fly? Any extras (Will Scotian etc) might not have been Rogue Squadron, but there were plenty of X wing pilots on hoth to escort the transports. Most pilots had the Dak Ralter helmet from what I've read. Gold 2 I'm no so sure about. Gold 3 - Evan Verlaine is a Dak Ralter helmet, and Gold 8 can probably be made with the Will Scotian helmet from the UCS snowspeeder.

Yeah, I think they messed up a few of the promo shots, or changed roles of some people along the way. The wookieepedia page for Ralo Surrel has him holding Bigg's Helmet! He also has a slightly different helmet (as "Red 11") than the generally accepted Red 12/Wes Janson at Hoth one. The Rogue One Visual Guide is your friend! Someone made this for Red 8 - https://imgur.com/3kMIn0w - which matches the source material pretty much perfectly. That'd complete Red Squadron. For Gold Squadron... Gold three (Evaan Verlaine) is listed as having the same helmet as Anton Merrick. Gold Six (Brace Mark) is in there along with Gold 7 (Gazdo Woolcob), but they have mixed grey/white helmets which might be hard to reproduce. Gold 8 (Datchi Creel) has plain red firebirds but there's no frontal/top down image available and he apparently isn't seen inside a cockpit in the movie. Gold 9 (Wona Goban) is the U wing/Y wing pilot from the two big Rogue One sets. Gold 4 will apparently forever be a mystery. I think I'll give this a go - it's pretty low effort resources-wise. I'm a bit scared to go the extra step and start spraypainting, but this seems like an easy start into the world of customising.
