40516 Everyone Is Awesome
I don't believe that TLG should produce a set that celebrates sexual immorality of any kind. I realize that many of you will interpret what I am about to say as "hate;" but I assure you, I wouldn't say this if I didn't love all of you enough to warn you. If I saw someone running toward the edge of a cliff, would it be loving to remain silent? As mere mortals, we have no right to redefine the institution of marriage established by our Maker as the lifelong union of one man and one woman. It is likewise an act of rebellion against the Creator to reject the gender he gave you. I am just as deserving of God's judgment as anyone else - we have all rebelled against our Creator in various ways. We are all cosmic traitors worthy of eternal separation from God and can never be good enough to earn His favor. But God, in His vast mercy, has sent His only Son Jesus Christ to live a life of perfect righteousness and die the death we all deserved. He rose from the dead to prove that He could really save us. Repent of your sins and cast yourself on the mercy of Jesus and you will be saved! Mods, I understand that this post violates Eurobricks rules and will likely get me banned from the forum. I would rather be banned than think that someone's soul might be lost because I kept silent. As Martin Luther said, "Here I stand. I can do no other. God help me."

Scale Modeling Forum future?
Pdaitabird replied to Milan's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAnd an engineering student will say the glass is twice as big as it needs to be!

Looking good! Nice technique for the front windows.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
"I sing of Africa and golden joys..." -Theodore Roosevelt The set with the male lion might just be the first City set I actually buy. The adult elephant is a bit of a letdown - I think the 2003 Adventurers version was superior. But the calf is nice. I believe this now makes 3 of the Big 5 (the jaguar can pass as a leopard); now we just need a rhino and a cape buffalo to have a proper safari!

LB&SC Railway 4-6-0 mixed traffic steam locomotive with four passenger coaches
Looking good so far! Are we talking about Stroudley's "Improved Engine Green" here? Britishbricks over on Flickr tried a terrier in yellow and then switched to medium nougat. I think that would probably be the best match - if all the necessary parts are available! Here's a link to his album.

[MOC] Train Shed
Nice job! It looks great from the outside, but the interior details like the overhead crane and the machine tools make it really stand out.

Adding weight to Locomotives
A cheap source of weight that has worked for me is to cut open a shotgun shell and pour out the pellets. I was using a 9v motor under a lightweight tender to push a locomotive. The added weight made a significant improvement in traction. Most 12 gauge shells will yield well over an ounce of shot. The only downside is that the train wagon to which you are adding weight needs an enclosed space, or you'll have tiny lead pellets all over the floor! Edit: Shells with tungsten shot meant for waterfowl are non-toxic, but much more expensive.

[MOC] A Friendly Encounter
Nice build! The tree and notice board are nicely designed. The ruts in the road are a clever idea!

Unpopular Opinions about LEGO
Old-style finger hinges should never have been discontinued. Change my mind.

MOC: GWR 4900 Class 5972 Olton Hall (4-Wide)
I have some dark red parts going back as far as 2002 - as far as I can tell, any slight color difference is not enough to be noticeable unless you're looking for it. But then I use old light gray and light bluish gray interchangeably, so maybe I'm not the guy to advise on color variations! That dark green version looks amazing!

Nice work! I like how you did the angled feet on the base.

MOC: GWR 4900 Class 5972 Olton Hall (4-Wide)
The revisions look really good! Using vehicle mudguards for splashers was a brilliant idea. I like the comparison shot - it gives a sense of just how horribly out of proportion the official set is. Nice work!

Medieval Merchants' Bridge
Great work! The interior details just take it to another level. My only suggestion would be to add some minifigs to bring it to life, but it looks amazing as-is!

Unpopular Opinions about LEGO
Amen! While I understand that not everyone has the time, skills, or parts collection to design their own models, some folks do seem overly constrained by what TLG produces. I would encourage those who have never ventured into the world of MOC building to just sit down with a pile of bricks and see what you can come up with - you might surprise yourself!

How to test 9V train motor
It should be possible. Even a 9v battery and two wires will do if you don't have the Lego parts.

[MOC] Medieval Tavern
That looks great! The timber framing and interior details are excellent.

I just saw that the founder of Lego was born on this day in 1891. I figured such a momentous event would be worth a topic to celebrate!
