Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
No one can convince me there isn’t a young audience for it. It’s a false assumption on the part of lego. I have kids who love it and know plenty of other piers whose kids love it. Especially with Rings of Power out now. And even the ones that don’t know the LOTR franchise very well love forts and dragons and creatures and sword fights and bows and arrows and horses, etc. It’s a slam dunk right now, and a missed opportunity

Couldn’t care less about getting any non canon lego stuff so Mara Jade would not interest me

I got that one at the time even though I had the larger set so I didn’t really need it. But two weeks ago after my son saw Rose of Skywalker for the first time I gave it to him and he was absolutely ecstatic. I always just go for it because you just never know when you’ll be super glad you did Honestly in general microfighters and mechs are fantastic for kids. I have kids and I see what they like, and they always want the mechs and microfighters. They like playsets too, but they know that mechs and microfighters are easy ways to get great minifigs

I can only speak for myself. I have spent what I would call ridiculous amounts of money for lego on the Devi dart market, even for minifigs. Now obviously since I paid it, it was worth the exchange to me. But they were also the only options, and it made other parts of life tougher having spent the money on that. In the end, if someone willingly completes the transaction then the time was worth the price to then at least to a degree. But that doesn’t mean the prices aren’t disgusting. It just means there aren’t any other options. Putting new ones on the market would be an infinitely better option for people, there’s no debate there

I agree, I’ve seen a lot of complaints about it going around and I don’t understand it. I think any type of troop, especially the unique ones like that, that are unlikely to appear in a lot of sets, should get a Battle Pack so people can collect them Not to mention they’re just awesome Kinda hope one of them is a Death Trooper variant

Dang that sucks, TCW season 7 Maul already came in a cheap set. Would have been way better if it was the Infiltrator version

It looks especially terrible on Ezra since he’s human. Looks bad on Gollum too

I didn’t love The Acolyte, but I thought it was fairly enjoyable, at least some characters. Sol is one of my favorite Jedi of all time even though I thought several characters were unbearable. Sol and Jecki were the highlights, and Qimir was pretty good. All that to say, while it wasn’t my favorite piece of Star Wars media, I’d be down for a set or two for sure. I doubt it will happen though

I personally hope the second Andor set is either the Fondor or the TIE Avenger we saw in the teaser Any buildable character will be a complete waste of bricks as usual

Again, I would rather they focus on characters they never made before, but at the end of the day I also want updated remakes of past figures. But to be honest I don’t even want them to touch The Hobbit unless they will actually do something with it. If they’re only going to do one scene, that’s the best choice, but it still feels empty if we don’t get remakes of Smaug and Azog and finally get characters like Bolg and the trolls. So I’d really rather they just stick with LOTR since it seems like it might actually go somewhere

I can’t see them doing the dwarves you mentioned with existing parts easily at all. Thorin and Fili and Kili with Dumbledore hair? Same for the others, there just aren’t any existing pieces that could make them look anything like their on screen characters. Ori is probably the only one that would work, and he never even got a specialized mold last time either

Also look how simplistic the builds were in that 2005 set. It’s so much better now. Prices are certainly over the top, but I’m very happy with how far the designs have come, builds and minifigs

Definitely not the ghost legs Personally I would love to see either a printed robe piece or printed legs with armor printed on the toes. Also Ahsoka’s gunmetal hands I’ll have to try the mindflayer piece There a couple sets of printed legs I’d like to try on the new torso that I just haven’t yet. Emperor Palpatine, General Hux, etc

Not necessarily. They were right there in the Shire, and lego likes to add some sort of conflict to most sets. True they didn’t for Rivendell but still, there was already enough going on there. It also seems strange that they would continue to restock the Nazgûl torsos on B&P if they were only going to be available in a single GWP that was only available for a brief time this year. Unless of course they plan on reusing them soon

Why would Merry and Pippin be boring??? Ideal situation to me would be based on Fellowship of the Ring and include party versions of Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin as well as characters like Rosie Cotton, the Sackville Bagginses, and maybe Farmer Maggot or something to go with one or two mounted Ringwraiths. And Gandalf of course. 12 figures doesn’t seem like too much to ask for in a ~$300 set Merry and Pippin could have alternate firework explosion faces I would certainly not complain about a set based on The Hobbit with Bilbo, Gandalf, and all of Thorin’s Company. But that just doesn’t seem likely
