Why do people keep saying this? “We already got them” it’s been over ten years, it’s remake time. Just because a lot of them still hold up ok doesn’t mean they wouldn’t benefit from modern remakes

I’m pretty sure Plo Koon’s Starfighter and the Night Troopers battle pack were just reposted by everyone but the original account ended up being responsible for a bunch of fake rumors I was under the impression those two sets had been discredited as false rumors

Eh I think it depends on how the individual collector decides to categorize it. Personally I don’t count the little ugly store builds as part of the official line. And I still consider my collection complete. I could go either way on the Brickheadz, but I do have them. I count poly bags too

Ok that’s fair. I’m honestly surprised they didn’t make a set based on the flashback vision sequence in Ahsoka. Armored TCW Anakin with arm printing, Ahsoka, and Phase 1 Rex

I don’t get Brickheadz, but the LOTR ones aren’t as bad in my opinion. I got them because of the completionist in me but I do kind of like them actually. But generally speaking I think Brickheadz are dumb

They literally used the armored Anakin design in the last TCW set to include him lol. It’s been longer since we’ve seen this design I can’t even imagine thinking the Formula 1 slop is better than this 😭

Would have been nice for it to include ARC Jesse for that price though. Yeah I’m super excited to see the ARC-170. Although I already know I’ll be disappointed in the size, kinda like the Sith Infiltrator

Absolutely love Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor!!! Figures look amazing. We’re finally getting an Anakin that doesn’t have the clone armor plate or burn marks on the torso. It’s the perfect Anakin print. And that Ahsoka is perfection, although the old TCW lekku piece was more accurate to this version than this reused Ahsoka show version. But the printing on it looks great and overall it doesn’t look bad at all

Why?? The old one was a nice set but it’s in serious need of updating and upscaling Super happy to have more confirmation about Bag End! Obviously another day one D2C purchase. I do hope the rumored Balrog set is a Bridge of Khazad-dum diorama style set and not just a big brick built Balrog, although that would still be really cool. I just don’t want them to already be going the “random brick built creatures and stuff” route that they’ve been going with HP, Marvel, and Star Wars

I do love large molded creatures. But I’m also really loving the recent trend of brick built creatures with a new molded head and wings, like the Ukrainian Ironbelly in the Gringotts set. I do desperately wish they would bring back wings like Smaug’s though. They were amazing. I’m not a fan of the fabric wings or Avatar plastic ones because one side always looks unfinished. There should be wings on a ball joint with a hard plastic base and rubbery movable membranes just like Smaug’s Leakers often try to do this for franchises they aren’t familiar with. It could be that whoever it was only knows that line and associates the movies with it so they used that to further tease the Shire set. Who knows. Leakers don’t make sense sometimes. I certainly hope there’s actually something there

I absolutely love the Sail Barge. I don’t mind the safer approach with Leia, it gets the proper design across while also keeping it more family friendly. Win/win. And that hair piece is gorgeous! While I would have liked more figures, I’m happy with the ones included, taking the Sarlacc set into account as well, which I think was actually a great move. Probably a 9/10 set, maybe slightly lower if I take the price into consideration, but at this point I’ve just accepted that lego is going to bleed me dry and there’s nothing I can do about it

Not making playsets would be a major L and basically a refusal to take everyone’s money lol We should also keep in mind that half the time leakers don’t know the source material from these sets. I’ve lost count how many HP leaks have had entirely wrong information only because the leaker doesn’t know HP. So a leaker might be able to say “fellowship” as a hint and the set still have nothing to do with the Fellowship or with the Fellowship of the Ring movie

It would be cool to see it centered around the birthday party, with tents and lights and decorations outside

Honestly Meduseld is very close to the top of my list of most wanted D2C sets

A MBS style Moria set would be awesome. Open with different areas and rooms for each scene. The Hollin Gate with the Watcher, the entrance chamber, stairs, the mines, the twenty-first hall with all the pillars, Chamber of Mazarbul with the Cave Troll, the broken stairs over the chasm, and of course the Bridge of Khazad-Dûm with the Balrog. Makes sense to include the whole Fellowship and several Moria Orcs

A lot of people want dioramas. I think the theme needs battle packs more than anything else

Yeah I think $700 would be enough for a worthy Minas Tirith with a couple decent side builds, maybe a siege tower and Grond or something. Building the lower levels of Barad-dûr made me realize it wouldn’t be that hard

I agree, Bag End does not have to be as big as the last two sets. That being said, I could see Minas Tirith needing to be in the $700 range to be done justice. That would be a hard pill to swallow, but I would do it

Not to mention even if it was a real list, it’s only based on the information he had at the time, which means very little when it comes down to it, since these people don’t always have all the info

Mine didn’t even have paper bags, all plastic From everything I’ve heard, it did better than Rivendell at launch. I’m sure the GWP helped with that, but either way, there is clearly demand for LOTR sets. Another D2C is all but guaranteed at this point, but I really hope they get the message and completely launch a new theme

Did you check the bag the pieces came out of? Sometimes a piece can get stuck and stay in the bag

Stood in line this morning and got Barad-dûr and the Fell Beast. Currently building and I’m absolutely loving it so far!! I still say Helm’s Deep makes way more sense considering it will be featured in the War of the Rohirrim film

Nah it’s not the detail, it’s just too thick at the neck, it throws off the proportions. Really should have been two separate pieces
