  1. Interesting question. Have wanted to try virtual building. Which software package is currently the best?
  2. Planning on changing the figures up a bit. Going to add at least one more hotel employee and a maid. Planning on adding a shop keeper for the art gallery, someone artsy. Other figs are fine for guests, One guest does need to have a dog thou....this is the Boutique Hotel after all. In my city, the back of the building will not be able to be viewed. Thinking I might move those 4 windows (2 per floor) on the back and extend the building to the right by 1/2 a base plate. Would require reworking the hotel rooms by could allow for 1st floor, public bathroom, indoor eating area 2nd floor this one is going to be difficult as floor so chopped up. Maybe can clean it up and make two nice rooms. 3rd floor, adding and additional suite Looking forward to modifying this set, can't wait for it to be released.
  3. Will be interesting when BH is available for all. Right now the only ones with the set able to review with set in hand are the Lego Ambassador crowd, which is typically very pro Lego. This set is growing on me, just wish was a little taller as typically a hotel is a taller building in a city.
  4. Yes, have missed out on a lot of the GWP sets over they years. Didn't even know TLG was offering something for the upcoming Modular
  5. Yes, for the 15 year anniversary set, think most AFOL would have spent a little more for a better version. I am tempted also to get a second AS set. Have seen a few nice moc's for AS on Rebrickable. The best I found for my city is next to DO with DD acting as a corner build. My current city layout will not permit so DD is stilling by itself. With the addition of the Police Station and soon BH will work DD in somewhere.
  6. Feel as others TLG had a opportunity to do better on this set BH. Looking at AS compared to this one, you really go a lot more for a little more money. Think TLG had a good idea here, just needed a larger budget and footprint to make it make happen. That's what's great about Lego, one can remedy what is perceived as any shortcomings. For the record, I will be getting this set. No idea what modular I can place next to it? Same issue with DD, its sits alone in my city.

These scaled well in my city. Removed the monster stuff, nice building. This one is a nice corner or folded into a complete build. If you perfer the complete building look fairly easy to moc. Have several of these 3-1 building sets in my city This is another good one for scaling with the modulars
  8. I have had multiple issues purchasing used sets via ebay, bricklink etc. Get incorrect pieces, broken pieces, etc. If the seller listed that set at so so at 99% complete then ok. When its listed as 100% complete and like new (with the price to go along with it) then that's when I get upset. They will usually offer a $1 or so for the parts in error, but by the time you add shipping and your time no way this $1 covers everything. That said, as a buyer I assume something will be wrong with my purchase. Hopefully it will be something small I can get from my own inventory. If its a major item then will reach back out to the seller for compensation. Suggest you offer the guy a few dollars to go away. Selling used Lego always looked like a huge pain in the butt.
  9. My current favorite channels are Robin Hood Bricks and Alex Nunes. Robin Hood Bricks has put together a well done city with quality moc's. I do skip out on this Wednesday videos as they are haul videos (no interest in the subject). Alex just seam like a genuine quality guy and the channel is not focused on making revenue. Feel more excited about the hobby after watching these guys video's, isn't that really what its all about? Agree with other about Jangbricks. Jang says his passion is for moc's but spends 99.9% of the time reviewing current sets and a lot of them he does not like. Seams like he has lost his passion for the hobby, maybe time to try something else? I am not following him on any other platform then Youtube. I used to follow Bricksie but seams like he is tearing his city apart every other week. Should put that energy into making moc's or something unique for his channel. Lot of the other Channels out there are on the negative side. Too much negativity in my day to day life. Looking for more positive channel to follow...this is supposed to be a fun hobby after all.

Any news if we are getting a new city train set for 2022?
  11. TLG does do some odd pricing. Know licensed themes cost a bit more. Sometimes feel anything I am interested in TLG add 50% to to the cost.....lol
  12. No surprise with City, Star Wars, HP and Technic on the top 5 list. Glad to see Creator Expert made the list.....aren't they discontinuing the theme? At least a name change. Hope ideas was number 6. Lot of really good sets lately from the theme!
  13. I have mine currently on top of a bookcase. Planning on changing the foliage to match the seasons. Hope someday my Lego Store has white leaves in the bricks and pieces bins.
  14. I like how you worked the tree house into your display. I am still trying to work mine in somewhere.
  15. For the Speed Champions totally agree. Luckily they usually include enough of the original print that you can add it to they sticker. Example is the racing number on the blue Camaro. Was able to include the bits between the two stickers to make it look complete.
  16. Looks good, I am planning on lighting up my Modulars, can't see inside them without the lights. Agree the DD is a must for lighting
  17. I have this set, would go well with yours. Got used in a bulk bricks order. Little out of scale with the rest of my sets, but worth having a place in my city.
  18. Hotel for this year......ok. Already have one in the CC, maybe this years will be very upscale. Can moc the CC into more of a budget hotel. Wonder if a vehicle will come with it? Maybe a taxi?
  19. Great review, like the luminated Christmas Tree this year.
  20. Ready for the seasonal set this year!
  21. Fairly easy to add a few white 1 by 1 plates/tiles to a ordinary Lego vehicle for a winter look. TLG did offer a snow plow which while a little large is very cool.
  22. I see your point getting another blue cottage for the theme. Agree other color(s) would have looked better IMO, but I'm ok with the blue. Its the lack of the contrasting trim the original had that I miss the most. Lost some of its charm in this version. Maybe it wont be to difficult to moc to add some?
  23. Looks like a updated version of the old cottage for this year. Should be an official announcement soon!
