I an not that familiar with Lithium Batteries. Why would you do this vs using rechargeable Ni-Mh? I have been happy with my AAA Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable ones.

The best part about this hobby is you can build whatever you can imagine. Glad you have kept up with your city build. Looks like you are getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. If you don't already have one suggest a farm....lot of creativity can go into this build.
  3. Interesting read. As coming back to the hobby 2016/2017, all my stuff is based the RC/plastic track. Feel this product would be a great option for those with metal tracks needing replacements or additions. As most have commented costs will the main challenge for AFOL to convert there systems. Taking a 50,000 height view of the issue, IMHO it would have been better to have made a system that allowed putting metal rails on the existing plastic track, Some sort of snap on connection. Looking as close as possible to Lego's original offering. Cost would be down and if the power pickup could also be developed would be the best of both worlds. Hope someone looks into developing this option. Edit, Did not see FX is looking at developing the power pickup. Excellent.

Those passenger car cars came out awesome. I'm jealous. Great job!
  5. thought about this, but the orginal rocket is what drew me to this set. Plan on keeping it. This shuttle is more in scale with the rocket. The rocket is actually underscaled but will make it work. Thinking the shuttle will be parked of to the side of the launch platform. I like to see inside my building so try to keep them open in the back (doll house style). Thought about building a garage, but feel a training center or lab would be more interesting. Fire Station sets are a great place for red bricks.
  6. Ok, this is what I am starting with. As you can see my shuttles are a bit out of scale. Thinking will make to displays, one on earth as a launch center (will be by my airport) and the other on the moon. For the moon, planning on having one of the shuttles discovering an alien space ship. Have most of the Galaxy Squad sets and even more of Mars mission (excellent bad guy). For the Launce center, will keep most of what you see below for the display. Will expand the control center to 2 or 3 levels, open back. Planning on adding a lab and training center as separt building. May combine these depending how large the control center gets. IMG_3277 by Bill battles, on Flickr IMG_3273 by Bill battles, on Flickr
  7. Hello all. Recently picked up a used 3368 set. This is one of the sets I have been pinning over for sometime. Brought it home, built it, set it up for display. Still like it, but needs a little bit more too it. Planning on upgrading the command center. Looked around on the net for some pictures of mocs to get some ideas. Nothing came up. Anyone moc or seen a good picture of a moc of this set? Launch platform and the ground level need to be beefed up also. i have set 3366 also, will combine into one large display. Have 31066 and 31091 too, not sure how to add them to the display. Looking for some ideas. Thank you for looking at this post.

I like how you added the scale at the back end.
  9. Looks good. Have you tried putting any defects into your streets? Potholes and such.
  10. That would be awsome....but very expensive! I would want them all....well not Bionicle.

I could view your pictures as normal on my Ipad, but not on my PC. Pictures can be tricky sometime. Anyways, great builds. Hard to pic a favorite. If I have too would be the Festival Gardens. Love those transclear colored bricks for the train logo. Would love to see a picture of it lit from behind. The interior is well done and a classic look. I too also combined a few of the Harry Potter sets station sets for a moc. Mine was similar but yours was done better.
  12. The contest results were interesting. Trains did get a good showing. If it had won definitely believe we would have gotten a redesigned Metro Liner. I totally do not get the whole Bionicle theme....I hope it does not win as do not believe it would sell well. Can't see someone's grandparents going to the Lego Store and picking a Bionicle set for their grandkids when a big Pirate Ship or Disney themed sets is next to it. This is a fun contest, would like to see high number of sales TLG receives from it so they do it again!
  13. Think we are pretty safe more Pirate sets are coming ether way. Being ranked in the top three helps too. Lets hope for some support ships for the Barracuda bay and a few Imperial to fight these guys back
  14. Was caught off guard how many AFOL still like Biconical. If it wins, fear it wont sell well. Just don't see it crossing over well to the general public. That would be a shame as this contest is fun and would be great reexploring more old themes. I voted for Pirates. The Barracuda Bay is still selling well....more pirate sets are coming ether way. I'm in a good place :)
  15. Built this GWP. Yes spent the $200 min for the teal brick too. Anyways, this is a very nice set. Lot of details. I would have paid more then the $22 US TLG suggest retail listed for it. If you are on the fence, suggest getting it. As expensive as Lego is, spending $150 US is not very difficult, does hurt the wallet a bit. Continued. Pros, free sort of.... lot of nice bricks. very detailed good mini figs (not sure if new, I didn't have these torsos) displays well from the back, was not expecting this in a GWP Cons stickers no ghosts non opening door If you had two of these sets, very easy to expand the display (put books end to end). I plan on keeping my set build, not using for parts. Like it that much.
  16. Hopefully it will be a huge seller and TLG will offer some new 6 stud wide vehicles back in the Speed Champions line.

Late to this discussion. This new modular from the outside is very generic, could easily moc into a post office or whatever. If any complaints regarding this set feel should be toward the small building on the right, 6 by 6 inside...what you going to do with that? Wish they had put that space into the bakery.
  18. Have not purchased yet, do plan on getting. Glad you enjoyed the set. If you don't have the Barracuda strongly recommend.

After looking at the reveal picture's, this looks like a nice set. For me, not interested in a a police station, but this set so well done feel very easy to convert the main building into whatever! if I keep it a police station, will need some parking near by for vehicles.
  20. Just purchase some regular Christmas lights and put them in the buildings, from the back. As long as your displays against a wall or something to make the back not visible you should be good. Quick and cheap remedy. There are a lot of light kits out there, some for the train. Unfortunately, the power up/power functions plugs are not available from these kits. Will need a separate battery pack. You could get a motor or extension cable and cut the cord...then solder the plug to what ever kit your purchase.
  21. Ok, lets leave all those cannon in there!!!! Going to go challenge the Barracuda and don't want to be out gunned.
  22. Just a FYI, some plastics are not fish safe. Sure Lego is, just word of caution .
  23. Just checked and at S@H, changed status to on back order. Hopefully that means they are making another run of this set before it discontinues. Now if they could get some Downtown Diners in stock!
  24. Here is the link of you have not already checked it. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/ac55921b-a2cd-45a8-a870-4b761892cf1a I meant the bottom deck was a little high on the cannon count, would prefer crew quarters instead. My favorite thing on this ship is the blue haul with the blue/white sails. Absolutely beautiful.
