Yet another Trophy Truck - MOC | Work in progress
keymaker replied to keymaker's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThey look fine, minimal signs of worn out. But after playing with those Buwizz motors I can say I understand why TLG abandoned this kind of motors. They ARE powerfull and other parts - plastic elements of the drivetrain or any other parts, which ultimately always hit floor/wall are no way near to be able to withstand conditions which are created by those motors.

Yet another Trophy Truck - MOC | Work in progress
Hi, I have bought Buwizz 3.0 and two Buwizz motors and decided to put them to test. I choose Trophy Truck. Model is still work in progress, so any suggestions are welcome, especially related to the colour of the body. Some parts of the car I am happy with: front bonnet, front lights and grill and what is underneath them, roll cage, but some I am not so sure: bull bar shape, rear looks a bit unfinished to me compared to front, rear shock absorbers (yellow) are a bit too hard, but on the other hand black ones are too soft and saggy. What do you think I can do to improve this model and what colour choose (only original Lego parts) to make it shine in crowd? :)

42131 Cat D11 Mods and improvements
keymaker replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWow, @brickless_kiwi, thank you for the link but your answer sounds like you somehow took my lack of knowledge personally :D @Milan s answer is much more informative without "additions" In matter of fact, I did MOC Tracked Dozer D10T a while ago and I was aware of most of pros mentioned by Milan, but I also noticed cons I mentioned earlier. It looks like that in this case, more pros than cons for upper drive system

42131 Cat D11 Mods and improvements
keymaker replied to efferman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI wish to see some info from experts related to real machines, if we have anyone here. From my point of view, I would say that lower wheels are better to be powered, because there are more points of contact wheel with tracks.

42131 - CAT D11 Bulldozer
keymaker replied to Maaboo the Witch's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingCan you tell anything more about what hides under "redesigned actuators". Because the black color I believe we all can see and if this is what you are referring to then :(

42131 - CAT D11 Bulldozer
keymaker replied to Maaboo the Witch's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingTHIS IS HUGE! And definitely more interesting for me than 42100. I definitely see 4 large LAs in black color ^^

Advice on Publishing Premium MOCs?
keymaker replied to amorti's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI am not such an experienced builder, but I do have some experience with selling MOCs on rebrickable (for example my UAZ 3151). I would say that advertising is very important. I mean you should consider buying Desinger plan on rebrickable. Also apart from advertising your MOC here, I would recommend to show it on FB lego technic groups, own yt channel ofc, instagram etc. P.S. I am pretty sure I saw you on nicjasno streams, where you are often present viewer

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
keymaker replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingOne more thing. I know it is nothing new, but I believe that we as Buwizz 3.0 and especially Buwizz motors users desperately need Buwizz to support some kind of manual, physical controllers (with proportional control ofc). Touch screen isn't very useful when trying to control MOCs equipped with those monster Buwizz motors.

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
keymaker replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingTesting my buwizz 3.0 with 2 buwizz motors and L C+ motor for steering I came across an interesting feature (It's not a bug, it's a feature! xD). Every time my MOC rollovers due to too tight turn, Buwizz loses center steering synchronization with L C+ motor. As a result wheels were locked in max left or max right position (I didn't check that carefully). After every such event center steering synchronization in buwizz app was needed. Does anyone came across such behaviour? Or guys from Buwizz team, have you tested such scenarios? @Zerobricks are you familiar with such case?

[WIP] 4x4 Unimog Trial Truck
keymaker replied to Teo LEGO Technic's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYes, large LA would be unstoppable indeed. But it takes space, a lot of it. And I tried to keep rasional size, hide and secure main mechanisms. And so far during testing I didn't notice problems with lack of power with small LA in this configuration. Instructions are available without charges, so anyone interested can check out front axle construction in this MOC :)

[WIP] 4x4 Unimog Trial Truck
keymaker replied to Teo LEGO Technic's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI would not say that small LA is the best option, but.... It works pretty well in my Crawler, which is not the smallest one :)

Outdoor and Indoor Events
keymaker replied to apachaihapachai's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI love the fun and diversity of contests there. And what is more, it seems that nobody bothers so much about the look of MOCs, the most important thing are fun and their capabilities. I wish to be able to be part of something like this in Poland.

Decreasing number of MOCs: affected by criticism?
keymaker replied to Aventador2004's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingConstructive feedback is necessary if anyone wants to improve. Aware constructor knows that. My UAZ 3151 at the beginning was ugly as ... Let's say it was very ugly :P But thanks to advices from people here and from FB group it became quite a beauty (at least as pretty as old UAZ can be) and it was appreciated in this improved form.

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
keymaker replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI put together a simple frame to test motors and buwizz 3.0. Power of motors is astonishing, but I have problem with return to center steering. Front of my frame is taken from 42124, so it should not be a problem of weak construction etc. But at the current state, even with calibration, Buwizz 3.0 with L C+ motor for steering is unusable. Did you guys come across similar problmes? I saw similar posts, but maybe something has changed since then?

LEGO 42129 Zetros VS custom-built LEGO trial trucks
keymaker replied to Sariel's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAnd I, instead of arguing if it is ok or not ok to compare Zetres to MOCs, I would sit, watch and enjoy nice prepared video :)

[MOC] Rock Crawler "Hornet" [free building instructions]
keymaker replied to keymaker's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThey are some noname tires I bought a while ago, but recently I find out, they can be based on Rock Crusher X/T 1.9" model. @Celeri Thank you. I tried to reach more people by allowing using also more available and common short shock absorbers. Also the possibility to choose between "Power" and "Agile" makes the MOC more versatile in my opinion, more useful depends on situation you want to use it.

[MOC] Rock Crawler "Hornet" [free building instructions]
keymaker replied to keymaker's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@Mechbuilds thank you. I did it with hope, that some people will decide to build it and share their experience from testing it outdoors. I believe Hornet/Red Ant can proof itself as a capable and fun to drive off-road machine.

[MOC] Rock Crawler "Hornet" [free building instructions]
keymaker replied to keymaker's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingOf course planetary hubs are not the source of the sound. It is sound of clutch in small LA :) In case of 3xL motors and one Buwizz 2.0, yes, I experienced that in some extreme testing, when I almost blocked wheels, but Hornet is pretty light weight so it should not happen when standard, even hard off-roading is done. In case of axles, their connection points are identical, so you can switch them as you like.

[MOC] Rock Crawler "Hornet" [free building instructions]
Hi, Here is my take on rock crawlers – I present to you an unstoppable and fully customizable rock crawler: „Hornet”! I called it unstoppable and fully customizable not without a reason. You can find out why in the video and in extensive list of features, details and links below the video. Instructions can be found HERE, they are free of charge, I hope many of you will be able to build it and have fun playing with it outdoors as I did. Without further talk, please enjoy the video! Details and main functions: • dimensions LxWxH: 36x22.5x19.5 cm • weight: 1.55 kg • 4x4 drive (3xL motors) • steering (M motor) • live axle suspension, front and rear • openable doors • easy removing the whole body with locks hidden in bumpers • it fits Lego Technic Figure Configuration options: 1. Drive and steering • Power version: 3xL PF motors for drive and M PF motor for steering front axle • Agile version: 2xL PF motors for drive and 2xM PF motors for steering on both axles 2. Body • „Hornet” – default body, more build-up, with opening doors • „Red Ant” – alternative body, more open one, 25% lighter than „Hornet” body 3. Suspension • Four independent, clearly visible mounting points available for each shock absorber • Multiple mounting points allow to configure four parameters of the suspension and the whole MOC: - suspension stiffness (from soft to hard) - suspension travel (from long to short) - body height (from low to high) - body style (from rock crawler to monster truck) • suspension can use both long and short shock absorbers Other features (which you may or may not spot on the video): • both bodies are equipped with two seat simple interior with steering wheel and some minor details • both available bodies are prepared in a way to avoid visibility of blue pins • frame is also prepared in a way to avoid blue pins • blue pins in frame are used mostly to high light mounting points for suspension and point out the front of the frame • frame prepared to be allow easy pairing with any new bodies • frame is equipped with simple cable management to avoid damaging motor cables during off-roading • changing connections of shock absorbers to the frame is fast and easy • MOC can be easy carry on both via body or accessable handle at the bottom of the frame • center of the mass is located at the center of the MOC • center of the mass is located low, most of the weight is present in axles • drive doesn't use differentials to maximize off-road capabilities • both axles are secured with panels to protect axles and drivetrain against any dangerous objects (grass, rocks, etc) • high ground clearance for both axles even with using planetary hubs • L motors are connected to planetary hubs without any reduction – this provides both speed and necessary torque • approach angle is 90 degrees, front and rear More photos you can find HERE

42129 - 4x4 Mercedes-Benz Zetros
keymaker replied to dhc6twinotter's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThere is something seriously wrong with prices in your country ;/ I did fast recalculation and you should pay something around 430NZ. My inner voice to me: Haha, don't be so smart, you will see how prices in Poland, when revealed, will bite you in the megablocks. (Megablocks?? I see some sort of auto correction here :P)

6x6 Truck (Built in 1 DAY)!!!
keymaker replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingIt is not so bad as for one day build considering the scale. But I need to point out one thing - "off road wheels" - c'mon, those wheels are far from being offroad :D And you could take some underbelly photos to show us the suspension.
