Thank you for bringing my attention to it. In case of your question, you probably already know the answer. It is, as in many other cases, a "borrowed" case. I didn't agreed on that, I didn't even know about this before you message. All photos are mine, description is mine. Pity that in case of technic models using different bricks than a Lego one can lead to getting models which do not work as their maker designed them to do. And it is shame, because (of course apart from theft part of this whole situation) people who will build such model with not original Lego parts can get the impression, that model is poorly designed.

Of course there will be no reduction. You have hubs with reduction introduced in 42099. This one will have new hubs accepting big CV joints, no reduction.

Like a set - it is boring. But if considering it as parts pack, then it becomes interesting indeed.

I am glad you like it. @gyenesvi There is some slack in the steering system (the amount you can expect in case of using such 3 gears) but since it is slow, off-road truck which not meant to participate in serious competition - it doesn't really matter. In case of CV joints, I try to avoid them as much as possible, because they are rather useless for torque transferring, but in such a small scale I didn't have a choice. Buwizz camps looks great, but this is a bit to far from my location :( And my Gaz 66, it has off-road capabilities, but it was not the main goal during building it. The main goal was to check, if I can build such a narrow truck and at the same time keeping the standard list of features I put into models, so AWD, full suspension, decent look. I was able to do this, but with some compromises like using those CV joints in drive train which is undoubtedly a disadvantage. @Zerobricks Yes, I agree with your comment. It is one of the compromises when building in such a small scale. Gear ration 1:1 near to the axles was dictated by construction of the front axle. I decided to sacrifice reduction on behalf of good bracing of the gears, since brick build solutions were bulky or causes gears to skip. Also I tried to prepare rear axle to be quite flat/low (it is only 2 studs high) to be able to place the frame of the truck on similar height as in real truck.

Thank you all. @JoKo You are right, for such a small engine (only 3 studs high + 0,5 stud for crankshaft) I do not see possibility to make it in a way that cylinders move in more natural order. For that you need engine with different construction - a higher one and also crankshaft which takes 3 studs and not 2 as my does. In case of second question, yes, tractor tires are a bit to big for such body. Steering works in full range, but not when suspension reaches it's limits. But I think a bit different construction of wheel arches can solve this issue. But over all, that is why default tires are the 49mm ones and tractor tires are tuning option :D

Hi, I would like to present my newest creation – off-road truck Gaz 66. It is my interpretation of small, old and very popular truck, which has a lot of off-road capability. Someone can ask why next similar small scale off road truck? I would say I like this type of vehicles, the scale and challenges they bring. And with every build I try to test something new, which I wasn't try before. Here the main goal was to go below standard for those wheels width of the model - 15 studs and prepare narrower axles than standard - 11 studs ones. Which I did. Gaz 66 has 13 studs width body with 9 studs (from rim to rim) front axle - stereed and driven. Thanks to that size of the body is more proportional to used wheels. And you can also use tractor tires provided with cargo for even better effect (you can see such modification in real Gaz 66 on one of polish off-road YT channel - LINK). I also tried to add as many details related to real truck as possible, in this scale, I hope there are here some fan of original Gaz 66 and they will recognise some elements I added. I have problem with setting return to center steering mode back to work after update ;/ My profiles survived the update (with which I had many problems...) and when sliders for drive of the MOC still work, then this one for the steering is not. Calibration is doable, testing it in Link BuWizz outputs taps also works, but when I want to drive my MOC, the motor - PU L motor, doesn't react on my commands. Anyone knows why this happens? Why PU L motor doesn't react on the slider?

I have a theory, a general one (not necessarily related to USA vs Europe) why in case of RC models off-road MOC are more popular than super cars. When you build a RC supercar - you wish it has the feature of supercar - for example it should be fast. Which is unlikely with pure Lego. (I know I will get answers that it can be done, it is possible bla bla bla. But anyone who is realy building with Lego knows it's limits). But in other hand, when you build a RC off-road car - you wish it has the feature of off-road car - for example it should be capable of dealing in tough terrain. And it is perfectly possible to do it using pure Lego, I would even say it is quite easy. And to answer your question, why in Eastern Europe off-road vehicles MOCs are more popular? Maybe because of the environment we're living in? I would say that our environment is much more varied than in USA. So we much often need a vechicle who can deal with something more than flat asphalt road. And this is the source of our interest in such type of MOCs. <- this is my second theory :) In Poland besides a couple of FB groups you can find a forum: https://www.lugpol.pl/about.php but it is quite small. P.S. I create MOCs myself and I perfectly fit into your characterization of MOC creators from Eastern Europe :D (but technically Poland is rather central Europe ;) )

Maybe, but I bought CAT D11 for about 325 Euro, new, from the shop. More parts, half of the money. So we will see how hard TLG wants to cheat us with this one.

I'm curious about stability of such axle. Connecting points are very close to each other and it doesn't look good. Shocks will give some stability, but I'm not sure it will be enough. But, at the end, it is not RC model, so I think it will be enough for staying on the shelf.

I think it is not a problem to be able to pay for it. It is a matter of respecting the money. So far I am not able to imagine factors which will justify such price. I can buy it, no problem, but I most probably won't because it will be most probably a rip off as hell. Having money doesn't mean I supposed to mindlessly throwing it left and right.

First, I know I do not have chances :D Second, even if they somehow respond to me, they will bring conditions which I will check and decide if I go for it or not. In case of monetizing MOC, my UAZ was already stolen by filthy thieves hiding in china, so...

I probably shouldn't even answer in this topic, but hey, in worst case scenario I will receive confirmation how small I am :D I humbly propose my UAZ 3151, which was also described here on the forum.

We can complain here and prove, that such price is a BS, but some "excel guy" decided, that this set will have such price, probably based on some inside data. Pity that we will never know how well this set really did on the market and how much income brought to TLG.

So new Liebherr 42146 (2,9k parts, 2 hubs, 6 motors and 700€) versus old Liebherr 42100 (4,1k parts, 2 hubs, 7 motors and 400€) -> it loses in every category, big LOL, it is all I can say. I would like to, but it won't gonna happen. If I'm not mistaken, lego resigned from metal parts long time ago and last metal pasr was Hook (70496)

I hope, that this is not only official approach, but also unofficial one. I will not judge here lego reviewers, but I can give example of other branch: movies: If reviewer will not be positive enough, then exclusive invitations for prepremiere shows say bye bye.

I also noticed it in my 42155, but it works and now when build is complete problem is no longer visible, so I don't bother.
