  1. Dito. But my guess (or wish?) is a Claas Torion :-P
  2. With the new sturdy 19x3 frames and the tires from the upcoming 42160 Audi, I'd hope for a new iteration for a mobile crane. Maybe with a big and powerful pneumatic cylinder :D
  3. In one of the construction pics, I counted 13 of the yellow 19x3 frames and multiple DBG ones, this thing should be really structurally sound. In my opinion, Lego wanted to make this thing as sturdy as possible and therefor had to shrink the size. Maybe even Michael Kossmann himself was unsatisfied with the sagging of the lower structure of the 42100 and wanted to eliminate this as much as possible with the help of the new frames. But yes, Lego wants to show off. "Biggest" "Largest" ... I'd rather see 3 medium sized sets with each 1000 pieces than this behemoth.
  4. Seeing all the WIPs so far, this contest will likely have many entries! So cool to see the participation :-) I think its really a good idea to have 2 TCs each year, where one is more specialized and the other one for many entries. Thanks again @Jim for choosing this one
  5. Thought about making this model for the contest, too. 4-wheel steering AND the fake motor will be challenging to integrate into the small bundle. Gearbox will be a tight fit, too. Will follow this with great interest :-)
  6. Especially the roof section is outstandingly well done. Panel work is perfect, great job! The front section looks not that good in my humble opinion, sadly the small angled panels aren't available in light orange :-/
  7. Price already down to EUR 529,50 by some sellers. Depending on the sells charts, I expect the price to go down to well under 500 after some time.
  8. It's this one, normally used as a picture hanger: 67139 Thanks Igor! It's settled then :-)
  9. Thx :-) Progress has been made: The small cylinders are definetely to weak for the crane, so I have to use the bigger ones. On the other hand, the claw could be done with 1 big and 1 small, the transporter pack could be done with small cylinders :D I am still unhappy with the sideskirts, but other variants are also not that perfect: The left and right ones are nearest to the original, but I tend to like the middle one better...
  10. Exactly my thoughts! The other contestents seem to have a silent agreement on the wheel size of 18 mm :DD
  11. The looks are perfect. The angles match so well with the original, great work! *troll-mode-on* No way to sneak in a 4 speed gearbox?
  12. The routing of pneumatic hoses, even in medium-sized models are really hard. Wish you the best! I wish Lego would introduce a 90° angled piece with one female end to fit the connection of the cylinders and on male end to go into the hoses. This would really help here, too.
  13. THIS! Still unsure about the lenght of the boom pieces, but it should be rather easy to mod, just like the 42042 had already another assembly of a boom piece coming with it. I am sure Markus Kossmann did expect the moccers do try out the real possibility of this set. The non-lego brands have some really big cranes in store, but I highly doubt their stability will be this good. But one negativ point you are missing is the scale of the set considering the original crane: The whole base is just off in scale. Either the cabin has to be smaller or the whole crane to be bigger. It's more in scale with the LR1400, which has "just" 400t instead of 3000t.
  14. Really cool progress! The side-by-side pic is nice for showing the right scaling :-)
  15. Thanks, Kyle! I'll try, although for the car transport attachment, I need a lot more beams and for the other two crane arm I may need 2 big cylinders... hmm... Thanks guys! Here is some progress, first parts already arrived. I really don't like the black side panels... have to try with red smaller ones on the weekend.
  16. The mechanism and reach will be challenging with the small LAs. I did it a while ago with a Liebherr L518 stereo loader, and I really struggled :D Looking forward to this, too!
  17. What I find strange is the lack of a truck in the size of 42128 for two years, lets hope for 2024 :-)
  18. Here again we have an indications that the price per piece isn't what TLG is calculating but more the price by weight. The additional weights seem to impact the price very much :D The price is really a joke. The 42100 had 1 additional motor and was 2/3 of the price.... :DDDD
  19. Yes please! But in this size, the medium LAs would be used, the 2x11 pneumatics would maybe be too big?
  20. Relatively speaking yes, but in absolute numbers no. From 18 sets in 2023, there are 7 sets which are not cars or bikes: https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Technic/year-2023 I didn't check all years, but I think this is the average number of "true" technic sets per year, for example in 2015 we also had 7 non-fast-things out of a total of 13 sets. And we have really good thing going: The color mismatch is slowly decreasing, for example in the upcoming 42160.
  21. Great review! This really is a nice parts pack with a discount. The wheel + hubs are such a welcoming treat :-)
  22. Looks more like something @SaperPL would do :D Curious to see if you can fit all functions in there, but great set selection!
  23. Oh this idea is soooo cool! Hopefully this technic will work :-)
  24. From the looks, it's great. But without a function it's rather strange... sure there is not enough space for collective pitch? Small turntable with inner axle should do the job or not?
