Very nice build :-) I feel you Ideally to fit 43.2 mm D x 26 mm. We definetely need more agricultural machinery in Lego.

[TC18][WIP] Mazda MX5 Convertable
Jundis replied to Jundis's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingFinally all the parts arrived and I did a quick test with the roof mechanism first. Works as intended :-)

[TC18][WIP] Mazda MX5 Convertable
Jundis replied to Jundis's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingSo much MX5 lovers here, whoa :D Back to the MOC: The main problem is shifting the A-pillars backwards and get a fitting angle and height to match the roof. I really like the usage of the panel as the front desk and would have to change it to fit in the A-pillars. I am still waiting for many parts to complete at least the current build. I even consider just calling it a "Convertable" and ditch the aim to recreate the MX5 :-/

[TC18][WIP] Mazda MX5 Convertable
Jundis replied to Jundis's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThanks @all for the suggestions! @brickless_kiwi : Just checked again, you are right. The biggest problem really is the A-pillar here, which I will try to set backwards 3 studs. Also the cabin needs to be place backwards 1 stud. Can't move it back more because then the roof would be too far back. But the backend actually is that big in the ND series ;-) *EDIT: Now I realised I did two mistakes with the A-pillar: For once, I just measured the angle of the Connector #5 without thinking about it while it's turned, lowering the angle even more and second I somehow used the windshield and not the A-pllar for reference

[TC18][WIP] Mazda MX5 Convertable
Hi guys, as I am around 90% through with my build, I'd like to present a MOC of a Mazda MX5 for TC18. I always liked the Mazda MX5, especially the newest version in white (2015 - today), so I gave it a try. I did not focus on a sophisticated drivetrain or steering, but make it a truly convertable with foldable roof, which is the main feature. I can be controlled with the HOG gear and 5L axle with end stop, which can be pulled out and placed two holes right of the center position, where it then actuates a worm gear driving the 8 tooth gear of the mechanism (see bottom pic, gear highlighted in blue). The cover is just pushed open by the folding roof. Retraction goes the same way. The mechanism worked well with a mockup, now I am waiting for my ordered parts to try it fully assembled. Other features are: - Steering (HOG and working cabin steering wheel) - Small fake inline 4-cylinder-engine connected to a newer diff from the 42109 - Openable doors, hood and trunk I am still working on the front, maybe I change the hood completely for this. Just couldn't find a nice looking solution so far. Here are some pics of the car and the mechanism of the roof:

[TC18] British Classic
Jundis replied to ukbajadave's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingOverall great shape and instantly recognizable. But have you thought about changing the doors from the panel #17/18 to the curved panel 7x3?

[TC18] Marocchino Rat Rod Wrecker
Jundis replied to SilenWin's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAgreed, I would even consider to shorten the engine (V6 --> V4) also going for a shorter hood with the Panel #13/14 instead of #17/18?

42113 Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey
Jundis replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNothing so far... The Charger will be released next week and Ducati in June. We have to be patient for pics of the Osprey as the set will be released in August, same goes for the Volvo.

MOC Tank power train question(s).
Jundis replied to gilboa's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI can't really say anything about lifetime, did not have problems so far. Also the rpm differs, when the engines are under load so it should even out. A simpler solution would be the following:

[TC18] Formula 1
Jundis replied to juGSI16V's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingVery simple but good looking build! But what is an european indycar? Didn't you mean american? ;-)

[TC18] Another WIP: currently civilian Jeep Willys
Jundis replied to Cumulonimbus's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNice shape overall :-) But are there 5L liftarms in red available? Also: No steering...?

Technic 2020 Set Discussion
Jundis replied to dimaks13's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThese rims are way better, if you go for the classic look. Wonder, whose gonna do the cross version of the charger first....

[TC18] Mini Porsche 959 AWD
Jundis replied to sirslayer's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHmm strange, I was really sure about this, as I read an article years ago mention this feature explicitely. But when looking at the rear axle, a steering rod is missing...

[TC18] Ferrari F355
Jundis replied to apachaihapachai's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingDoesn't look bad :-) But the design behind the door looks little messy... maybe you could tinker around with this panel? Also the wheelbase seems to short for a F355?

[TC18] Mini Porsche 959 AWD
Jundis replied to sirslayer's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThe rear wheels were also steered in the 959 *edit: The first body version with the panels as spoiler looks better imho :-)

[TC18] Technic Small Car Contest - Information Topic
Tinkering around with some mechanics in the back: Is it allowed to cover them up with 2 non-technic panels? Sadly, nothing else fits :-/ --> 4215b

42111 - Fast & Furious car
Jundis replied to Kaanere's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingOn this pic, it looks like a blue pin, is connecting the steering wheel (which is way too big...), which means no connection to the actual steering.

Technic 2020 Set Discussion
Jundis replied to dimaks13's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingMaybe only suspension in the back... At first iI thought it is in the same scale as the 42096 (at least it seem to have the same wheels). And the Porsche did have indipendent suspension. But it looks like the track width of this Charger is narrower than the Porsche. Overall, I am not really impressed with this model, the "coke-bottle" design of the silhuette doesn't really come through, at least in this pic. Also somehow the wheels really don't match the classic charger look. Maybe if the B-Model is the modified charger from the F&F trailer, then they will fit better.

[TC18] Technic Small Car Contest - Information Topic
@Jim I am really looking forward to this contest! :-) Are MOCs of real cars allowed? Or maybe moc(k)ups of real cars like the blue Dodge Charger car in the 42098?

Nico71's Creations
Jundis replied to nico71's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHats off to you, Nico :-) I deal with braiding machines in my job and this really is impressive. Especially as your solution for the discontinuous process done with the tracks and pins like a a punch card in older jacquard machines. Sometimes in the future I will try my best to do a MOC of a braiding machine myself. Can you do a Wardwell Braider next? ;-)

Thanks. The airtank is rather cheap in contrast to 3 of the these cylinders *crying*....

[HELP] Generic Building Help Topic
I have a question about pneumatics: I'm currently building a model where I can't avoid long pneumatic hoses. Does it make sense to combine a pneumatic pump driven by an L-motor with an airtank or should I go without the airtank?
