2024 Technic Sets Discussion
Jundis replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHmm kind of underwhelming... at least a gearbox with new elements would be nice. Maybe with Grohls 42154, the era of hollow shell cars ended? But who knows...

[MOC] MLC300 Crawler Crane - free instructions available
Jundis replied to mdemerchant's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThat is so great! I highly admire you did it in a smaller scale, this seem a perfect pick for this very crane. Fantastic model!

2024 Technic Sets Discussion
Jundis replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingPlz god, no. This would be such a waste... Also with these fenders, only a very limited steering angle would be possible. With many system bricks, it's easy to achieve the rather high number of pieces in this small scale. I get and admire the idea of using same scale as 42136, although the dump trailer doesn't fit. Still I really hoped for a bigger model...

2024 Technic Sets Discussion
Jundis replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingFor the current situation the world is in, olive green with armored plates would be more fitting And we already had the 42071 in blue...

Future Set Wishes and Speculation
Jundis replied to SheepEater's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWill get my hands on this soon. I also wait for the usage of a gearbox and control+ in a "speed set". Strangely, only the 42114 used this system of a 3-speed gearbox. Maybe usage of it in a RC Dakar Rally Truck would be nice :-)

1/8th Ford Probe
Jundis replied to 930 Turbo's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAdding to the comments, you may have a look at this NSX, posted by @Romanista It's from a similar time period and kind of resembles the look. This! The thing is: In a smaller scale you have to drop the gearbox. Next thing is the front mounted engine: In small scale models you can't implement a front diff at all when you want to go with suspension.

[MOC] RC Telehandler

Has the 42155 Batcycle Been a Flop?
Jundis replied to Captain Sidecar's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingFor this set, I am fairly sure the technic team was forced to do it and therefore very little love and effort was put into it. We know the process from the interview from @kbalage (Link to youtube video at about 2:00), that the Lego Technic team can't decide alone what to build. I am pretty sure the thinking was: Whoa, other Lego Batman sets sold very well (both Tumbler and 1989 batmobile), so lets do some Technic sets (42127 & 42155). A general thought: TLG should have get the idea, that iconic vehicles without functions that only have unique appearances shouldn't be recreated in Technic but rather with System bricks. Even I am a purely technic guy, I highly admire the Creator Expert/Iconic series. There are some examples that work (42110, 42154), but not many in my opinion. This may also be the reason we see very few cars in the new 2024 technic lineup...?

[MOC] Beach buggy
Jundis replied to Jurss's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingLove the simplistic look! Great job :-) One thing: Seats could be blue :-P *Edit: Is the steering hindered by the 1/2 stud offset for the gear rack?

2024 Technic Sets Discussion
Jundis replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingReally curious about the Dozer and especially the Forage Harvester! With all the John Deere branded vehicles coming out one after another, I hope for a Claas tractor or wheel loader this year Please TLC, don't waste the licenses!

[TC26] Technic Arctic Vehicle Contest - Discussion Topic
I'll aim for this scale and order a Technic arctic figure. Now the question for me is: tractor tires or tracks?

Grohl's Creations
Jundis replied to grohl's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWish this would have been an official b-model! I still wait for best discount on this set, but maybe this alternative will be a push for me

[TC26] Technic Arctic Vehicle Contest - Discussion Topic
This I think is a very good feature for this contest, as it makes contesting models more comparable. Many orange models have been published in recent years, so I think there are enough pieces in this colour floating around.

Future Set Wishes and Speculation
Jundis replied to SheepEater's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI am not sure if this is really needed except for "for the sake of beeing bigger".... Not a fan at all. Really strange that one complaint is "Lego is too expensive nowadays! In my days it did cost only 2 cents and a half!" and another one is: "Meh, we need bigger models to include more functions." :D Bigger wheels would mean bigger models with even more parts and thus higher prices. Sure there will be a technic model with 5000 parts one day, which will cost 800€ and has 2 or 3 hubs with maybe 10 functions. But I really don't know if this is a good thing.... I'd rather have 5 models for 100€ each with 1000 parts and 4...5 functions each. A really good example is the 42154. In my opinion, this thing is way better constructed that all the 1:8 supercars. With half the parts of its bigger brothers, it packs nearly the same functions.

Generic Contest Discussion
I think @Seasider only meant that the next contest has already been decided, as the word "next" from @Zerobricks suggested a new contest. There are many cool themes to come in future contests I think :-)

Lego Cords/strings sizes question
Jundis replied to sp1984's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingFinally my textile degree can come in handy :D Polyamid is more expensive than polyester and not really needed for Lego in my opinion. Although this nylon (PA) cord looks very much like the one from lego: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Metres-Braided-Nylon-Wire-Light/dp/B07L5T2NRG For this item, shipping is too expensive, otherwise I would try it out. Edit: I'll do a fire test tomorrow to see, what kind of fibre we have here.

Future Set Wishes and Speculation
Jundis replied to SheepEater's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNo suspension? Quote: "Double A-Arm suspension keeps optimal ground contact..." (Source) The T274 would also be nice at it is a fairly new machine. Could maybe make good use of the new tires from 42160, although the Unimog tires would fit better in scale for the 42100. Thats the thing. Sounding like an old record, but I crave: - small truck with new 43.2x14 narrow tires - backhoe - grader

[MOC]Manual single arm wheel loader
Jundis replied to jorgeopesi's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThe cabin looks great :-P Jokes aside, really cool and minimalistic model! I thought i have already asked, but why did you display it with the tractor wheels instead of the heavy duty wheels from 42160? :-)

[MOC] Excavator. Single motor, fully functional.
Jundis replied to McMarky's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThis really is a beast full with technic! Wonderful work :-)

Lego Technic 2023 Lineup Review- Has Technic Seen The Better Year?
Jundis replied to thekoRngear's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling2023 was a really good year for Technic in my opinion and a step up from previous years. Problems with cars and prices are already mentioned, also what @Gumalca said about medium sets: We really lacking non-rc vehicle in this year like a truck with under 100€ in the scale of the 42112 and something like the 42079. Also I really really hope in 2024 and 2024 TLC makes use of the cool new tires (tractor and the ones from 42160).
