10337 Lamborghini Countach Discussion
I didn't really mean to be overly critical of the set, I know the designer worked on this for a year. Thanks for sharing that Racing Brick video, I love his reviews. And yes, I don't have a solution to fix the proportions, I admit it, but I know someone will be able to come up with something nice and then I'm all in on this set, or at least some of the parts. Thanks for the interesting discussion!

This set is bothering me so much that I had to do a before/after transition. The proportions are definitely way off. Lamborghini - Lego vs Real Slider

Oh wow this is a poorly designed model... the fan MOC from the Porsche parts looks way better! So sad. Skipping this one 100%.

@GLAP23 Thank you! Can you believe you've been at this for 6 years now? Boy does time fly. I noticed the tire has a 'cheat' to fill in the space, they just filled in the circles on both sides instead of giving the tire inside structure, good for video games but not for real life. I will have to play around with the file a bit to get a real 3d printed piece, but you said the scaling is correct? Thanks again, and hope to see your Ice Mech one of these years!

@GLAP23 could you possibly share your 3D file for the custom tractor tire for the Quake Mech? I know a few pages back you said you made it. I made my own too, just want to compare if we got the same results. I have a friend at work with a 3D printer that can printer rubber material, and I'd like to try printing it out! Thanks!

Thanks to you for keeping this going for 5 years, your dedication is impressive. I can't wait to see what else you come up with. You should look into the other thread I've been following, @GLAP23 I know you prefer to work in LDD from Studio, so you should look into this, it will help you with custom parts you need or removing collisions on certain parts that don't fit the way you like, very cool stuff. Cheers

Thanks @GLAP23, we all love and appreciate your work here. If there's any way we can help, let us know. In fact, I have a blu-ray drive on my PC that I never use, if you send me a personal message, I can arrange shipment to you. I live in Canada, so you may have to change the region on it, but otherwise I never use it so it's yours if you want it! I would have thought by now you would have ripped the movie files to your hard drive, since you study the movie so much!

Korean LDD/Studio IO Blogger 'Fogeyman'
Hey all, I just wanted to let you know, there's this fantastic Korean blogger that does an amazing job with LDD and Studio models, check out this page: https://fogeyman.tistory.com/ I use the google translate on it, and it's very informative. Not only do they show the process, but they render the steps and it's just a very fun site. They have made many models over the years and I don't believe there's enough people that know about the site. I wonder if there is anyone here that speaks Korean that can invite them to this forum to post their official models to the official topics. Seems like a waste for someone to be putting so much effort into the digital building process and not having anything to show for it! Fogeyman is pretty up to date too, there are models there that have not been posted here, such as the UCS AT-AT (Done in Studio, https://fogeyman.tistory.com/1316), and other impressive builds as well. There are also comparisons to similar models posted, as well as downloadable files for everything. This person is a gift to the Digital Lego world, in my opinion.

RIP LDD...
I'm so sad Lego decided to do this. I love the simplicity of LDD, Studio runs like terrible on my PC, and it's just not as much fun, for lack of a better word. Wish we could somehow have the best of both worlds (good interface with new parts). Luckily some people have been adding new parts to LDD on this very forum, this saves us for now...

Custom LDD bricks and fixes
I just want to say thank you to all of you who are contributing to this. Lego themselves have now declared that Studio is the official replacement for LDD, yet they still don't understand the appeal of the old software. There's a reason so many of us still like it and don't want to switch over to Studio. I find Studio to be very 'bloaty' and just seems not as well programmed as LDD, not to mention the sorting and filtering. So please, keep updating! LEGO building should be a simple, straight-forward affair, Studio takes the fun out of it completely in my mind, even though it's more 'up-to-date'. https://www.brothers-brick.com/2022/01/12/lego-fully-discontinuing-lego-digital-designer-in-favor-of-bricklink-studio/

Flex System replacement - Any viable alternative?
zweifuss replied to DrJB's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThanks for this. I've been following this topic for a little while and it's nice to see some movement. All of mine have also snapped thanks to my son getting into Lego, but also they probably would have snapped regardless. I will try to print some and reply to this topic for my progress. I want to rebuild my old Whirlwind Rescue 8856

[MOC] Rope shovel excavator
zweifuss replied to Ivan_M's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNice work! When I visited the Czech Republic years ago, I saw many abandoned excavation sites, but these bad boys surely had moved on by then. Lovely motion with the pulleys, fantastic!

Ninjago Movie Screen-Accurate Mech Recreations
Wow cool nice work on that. I played the game when it was released for free about a year ago by Lego, and I couldn't find any spots where the actual movie mechs were, so I gave up on that. What scene in particular did you Ninja Rip? Anyway it looks great, can't wait to see what you have next. Will you be releasing the Studio models as well on your Bricksafe page?

I'm so glad you're still working on this! I hope you enjoyed your long break, I was worried you had disappeared! Once this is done all you have left is the Ice Tank, correct? BTW, are you still interested in custom parts creation, I may have some extra time again to work on the Dragon Snout and the larger tire of the Quake Mech, and maybe even some custom labelling. I've been playing around a lot lately with Blender and learning some tutorials. If nobody else is interested I'd love to jump on it and help you all get to your goals of 1:1 movie mech mapping! Cheers all!
