  1. Very interesting idea. How did you control the motors? Did you connect them directly to the battery boxes? You should try putting some detergent in the box...
  2. Hello all! This is my first serious MOC, a car of approximately 1:8 scale. The front is loosely based on / inspired by the Mercedes-Benz CLA, and the back on the BMW X6. Some clips strung together: http://axi.x10.mx/Phantom_M/Test2_small.mp4 The base is basically the Porsche axles put into my own chassis. I replaced the coil springs on the rear suspension with pneumatic cylinders. It is RWD, powered by 2 XL motors in the rear and a Servo in front for steering; one IR reciever in the middle. I used rechargeable NiMH AA's in the big battery box, placed right underneath the motors. Originally there was a modified version of Sariel's "4-speed sequential transmission with stepper shifter", but it created too much friction so I eventually took it out. I used some "LittleBits" for the headlights and the outer taillights, as I only had 1 PF led pair which I used for the inner taillights. The hood, doors, and trunk are all openable. There is a decorative interior with steering wheel, dashboard, air vents and cup holder. Red contrasts well with both snow and grass. I had trouble making the side and roof because I was running out of pieces. A few more pictures and the LXF file are at http://axi.rf.gd/Phantom_M (warning: they are very large pictures!).
