New TECHNIC sets for 2008
EyesOnly replied to Conchas's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNice pictures. :'-) Based on the pic above one might think that both arm movements on the excavator is controlled from the same wheel. Why else would there be a shift lever? The actuator's ram appear to be metalic and i for one can't wait for a video. :-$

Technic Car Technalities
EyesOnly replied to UFO's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingBTW about pneumatics. Don't use it because it is virtually impossible to center the steering. It always ends up slightly to the right or the left. Better would be to use the actuators released later this year. Simplest would be to just go with a common rack&pinion steering.

Power Functions trouble
EyesOnly replied to simonwillems's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThat sounds like i great idea. I haven't gotten any converters yet so i can't test it.

New TECHNIC sets for 2008
EyesOnly replied to Conchas's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYeah but i have a lot of elements already so my best hope would be if the pole reverser and lights are sold separately, which i hope they will be via S@H. If not i'm not gonna get them. I think. 8-| Thought the same way about the bulldozer. 8-

New TECHNIC sets for 2008
EyesOnly replied to Conchas's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingOk i see. Well for me the set has pretty much sunk through the floor as far as need is concerned. The lights are nice but not something i'd buy a set over, i've got plenty of PF-elements(own 2 bulldozers), and i prolly have enough parts to build this thing so i could if i only had the instructions (and in time brickley words will have them) so i'll prolly set my sights in either the excavator or teletruck, even though neither is that attractive it would be nice to test those actuators. And those sets prolly wont cost that much. Maybe there's some other sets to released as well. The 4x4 is only in 8200 so maybe there will be some in 8400 or so. Or then again maybe not.

New TECHNIC sets for 2008
EyesOnly replied to Conchas's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingOn the subject of angles, it's to bad they shot everything except the wheels. Sure would have been nice with some pics of those to see if they are the big ones from 8466 or not. The lights still look nice.

Technic Car Technalities
EyesOnly replied to UFO's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHere is some examples of steering with suspension. It is more advanced than you wanted but sooner or later you're gonna want both. Other than that i really recommend studying LEGO-models such as 8880 super car 8421 mobile crane 8024 universal set, old but gives perspective 8040 universal set, uses pneumatics in one model And let's not forget the ideas books 8888 8889 8890 8891 Just search for them at http://www.br-eng.info/words/index.php/sea...o-instructions/ The ideas books are kinda old but filled with great hints on how to build stuff which can be of use even with newer parts. Building models and/or studying others are the best way to learn but my suggestions should give you some ideas of how steering can be done.

50th Anniversary of the 4x2 Lego Brick celebration
I thought LEGO was older. Must confuse the dates. Oh well. GO LEGO X-D

Where do you store your instructions?
I store all my instructions in a drawer of my desktop. That drawer is getting really heavy by now. 8-

Happy 50th Anniversary
Haha that was nice. :'-) Anyway if they remove it from google here it is. So who'll be the first to build one? X-D

Lego reveals Power Functions IR Protocol
EyesOnly replied to Siegfried's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI myself heard it via Technicbricks and it sure is looking promising. *sweet* I've got such an urge to build but can't since i'm moving to my own flat in march. BTW if i'm right this post will change my group to citizen. Yeay. :-P X-D

New TECHNIC sets for 2008
EyesOnly replied to Conchas's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThis is kinda late but in the case of 8297 and the amount of lights it has, didn't anyone thing of checking the poster part of the photo? I just did using GQview and you can clearly see 2 lights, one on each side. I first thought of getting this, but when i heard of the motor set i got more interested of that. Since all PF-elements are available at S@H i hope the lights will as well. Since i already own 2 bulldozers i really don't need more motors, but lights would be nice, along with some converter cables.

Interim result better than expected !!
Staple is clearly a better term than classic. Well i doubt we'll see the end of SW anytime soon. Though i haven't seen anything other than the movies i do know that there are books so there's a lot to explore and while TLG have the licence i think they will do just that. If only i had lots more cash and a place to store those large sets. *wub* *sweet*

[REVIEW] 8275 Bulldozer
EyesOnly replied to Ickelpete's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingJust wanted to say that yesterday i bought another one. X-D You can't do much on only 4 channels but 8 should be enough, for now. >:-) If only i had some solenoids, an excavator is planned but first i need a vehicle for the guns i've made so i can write a page about them. First though is sorting the pieces, for both dozers. X-O :-X

Interim result better than expected !!
Saying that in a forum where 99% of the members are addicted to SW is bold to say the least. 8-

I don't recall if i said it so here goes, anyone wanting the motor in this set could just pick up the ferris wheel instead for much less money.

New Pics of AT-AT
Man that thing sure walks funny,i agree on the drunken look. In sweden the price is the same as 8421 which is way to expensive. Anyone wanting to build this could just download the instructions from Dark Side Developer kit since it uses the same legs.
