Power Functions (Electrical System) Info
EyesOnly replied to Brickthus's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingBTW does anyone have any info on the converter cables seen on page 61. It would be nice if it came with the bulldozer but since no one mentioned it i figure you'll have to buy it separate. :-/ Makes me wonder if i really wanna buy this from TRU or get it from S@H since TRU might not have the cables. At least not at first, and i'm not gonna wait longer than i have to. X-D

Foolish LEGO Human Errors You've Made.
Soldering at the table i have my Lego and accidently dropping it causing 2 yellow 8x4 plates to become slightly "modded". *sing* Oh and how about planning to buy the revvin riders on the sole though that the soundbrick would be so cool. Luckly the box in the store had a try me button. :-/ I did pick up a catalog though, didn't have one for this year. :-)

List of 2008 sets (January)
I'm really hopefull for next year concerning technic with the amazing sets we've seen as well as one few have been able to buy :-/ , so theres is great hope in that theme. The sets mentioned doesn't interest me. Small sets usually don't have any play value for me since i like my models to move on their own or at least to have impressive functions that small sets usually don't have. But next fall might well turn up to be at least as exciting as this one. :'-)

Whack-a-Fig Contest Semi-Final Round 1
I voted for hinkley. You've gotta love someone who willingly lets someone do a wedgie on them. :-P BTW is there any ways to stop people from voting on themselfes. 1 vote could make a differens.

Power Functions (Electrical System) Info
EyesOnly replied to Brickthus's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWhile i mentioned it in the bulldozer review i thought it best to update this thread as well with the info that more info and some comparisons to the gear motors was included in brick journal 8. ;-)

[REVIEW] 8275 Bulldozer
EyesOnly replied to Ickelpete's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI just noticed that he has done that in Brick journal 8. Check out page 56-61 for great info and a comparison to the gear motors. To bad it didn't include the NXT-motors since they are very similar.

8475 RC Race Buggy pic review
Good choice. As i said i have the other one and they can't be rebuilt to anything much different than a car due to the bulky receiver and they only have 3 outputs which is way to little for advanced models. I like the motors though, or should i say did since there's something better out there. X-D September has never seemed so far away. ;-)

Technic TV Commercials
Long ago i watched some amazing commercials about technic, the most remembered being 8868 and later one about 8889 being pulled apart by machines and put in a box. :'-) The problem is that i didn't record them and i can't find anything. I've searched this forum and found links to brickfilms and retrobricks. BF didn't seem to have any commercials that i could find and RB had some but non about technic. Please i really want to see them again but they really seem to have disappeared which is really sad. :'-( If only i had had a computer and tv-card back then. :-|

There seems to be little interest for Technic...
EyesOnly replied to simonwillems's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modelingto continue the title ... so i'll try my best to change it. I've been updating myself on this forum for a couple of days but now i'm getting finished with the parts that interests me so i can go back to building. I don't wanna say to much about what i'm working on since my models have a nasty habit of not being finished but i can say that it's a huge technic mech. 4 legged not 2. I suck at details and focus on function but i'll try to make it look good. But i should prolly dismantle my motor movers. Bought it for the motor and just shelfed it knowing it would force a reordering of my sorting system. And i'll prolly get the bulldozer as well if only for the motors so there will be lots of new Lego added to my collection.

8475 RC Race Buggy pic review
Erhm i think you mean 8880 not 8848. X-D As far as the motors is concerned (and this has prolly been mentioned before) WTF was TLG thinking using them in the 8421 mobile crane. The motor from creators would have been a better choise. Or a standard mini motor.

Foolish LEGO Human Errors You've Made.
Building cars with steering then running them of the desktop. *sing* I broke lots of the old style steering plates before i figured out that one. |-/ Oh and when building big, watch out so you don't get your hands caught under the model. :-|

I own the sister to this the street racer (to lasy to check the name). Those motors are really powerful but noisy if you try to gear them down for use in anything that needs to spin slower.

Whack-a-Fig Contest
For me a mod is a mod, i haven't quite gotten the hang on who can do what, only that i hope i'm not the victim. :'-( Maybe my post should have said that i'd rather be banned than whacked with a tree. :-P But i sure hope none of it happens. :-/

Ranks
That i understand, it's just that the post wasn't well thought out. It would have been better to say 10 more or less useless posts per day or it could be interpreted that newbies like myself aren't allowed to post many posts per day. As for the topic i don't really understand either the stress over ranks. I hold the rank of admin over my own computer and there has been times when just handing it over to someone else to fix would have been nice. Still i made the decision years ago to learn enough about computers to be able to do most things myself. Besides if you spend all you time on the forum, when are you gonna find the time to build. *sweet* When i reach citizen i'll know i've been an active member. Since there seem to be little technic according to some reference on a members hellopage, i'll be sure to make lots of posts about it. :-P For now i'm way to busy catching up on old threads to worry about my ranks, as long as they don't go below vassal that is. X-O

What's wrong with 10 posts per day? That's not an impossible number to reach depending on your interest. I'll prolly make 10 posts in this section before moving to the next. Could be more depending on how many threads i find interresting.

Sinner vs. Hinckley-Vote off Pt. II
I voted yesterday and also on 1. BTW has the poll being down done anything to the vote. I recall the first vote showing a bigger lead for number 1 than this one does. Or is it simply because of more votes. :-/
