Brunojj1's mind-opener - red supercar - free instructions now available for static version
linhhhinl replied to amorti's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHello @brunojj1 I just built the Cada version of your MOC. It’s absolutely fantastic and thank you for posting the improvements on your YouTube vid. Definitely helps make the model better. I notice in your original design, the dashboard is much more interesting and accurate while Cada’s version while simple, does stress the black liftarm that is attached the A pillar. Could you share how the dashboard is made with LEGO parts in your original design please?

[PRESS RELEASE] 42109 - Top Gear Rally Car
linhhhinl replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingJust not feeling this set. It doesn’t look good completed and is too expensive to be a parts pack. White fenders are cool, heck even 1 red fender as well, plus a new diff and a bunch of stickers... just doesn’t justify the price point. I bet you can build a nicer car albeit in different colour, RC and all, for much less

42108 - Mobile Crane
linhhhinl replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingLol my first thought when I saw the crane is that damn is LEGO copying other knockoff brand now. Very similar size and shape...

linhhhinl replied to Jeroen Ottens's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@Jeroen Ottens Thank you for sharing these cars! Both are awesome. Do you think the second car is possible in orange? Dark blue is a bit too rare for me

[MOC] 1:10 Classic Porsche 911S
linhhhinl replied to linhhhinl's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingGlad you like it! I did play around with using the fenders from porsche rsr set at the back but couldnt find a neat solution, it’s the part that connects the fender to the area near the door that’s tricky. I’ll probably give it another try when I have time. I have also extended the wheelbase by 2 studs and lowered the roof by 1 stud so the car feels less “tall” from the side. Still nt perfect but I guess it’s a good compromise as I don’t want to change the original side panels too much. What do you think?

[MOC] 1:10 Classic Porsche 911S
linhhhinl replied to linhhhinl's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThank you for the great feedback! I agree with you, the car feels short and tall from the side, which really bugs me as well. I will look into extending the wheelbase when I have time, some compromises will need to be made tho, like the doors will not be as smooth (no other longer panels I believe) and so on. But I will try some other time. The sariel scaler is a fantastic tool, wish I knew abt it earlier. I will definitely use it for my next MOC Thank you for the encouragement! More MOCs to come :D

[MOC] 1:10 Classic Porsche 911S
Hello everyone, I’m new to LEGO technic, just started building early this year. My first set was Porsche GT3 RS and I got hooked immediately. Today, I would like to share images of my very first MOC - 1:10 scaled Porsche 911S in the late 60s early 70s. I’m not yet familiar with gearbox or power functions so the technical aspect of this MOC is rather limiting. However, I’ve tried to make the shape as close to the real thing as possible. Hope you like it. Suggestions to improve it are welcome! 3BAFAACA-249F-45BC-9CE5-2AAA3F964455 by Linh Nguyen, on Flickr BB1D66DC-F53A-4043-8CB7-75B2CC569293 by Linh Nguyen, on Flickr F60B2C88-C6E2-453B-97B4-BD0D05A6573D by Linh Nguyen, on Flickr 18362AD6-958C-4E1C-8E62-935DB3D281FF by Linh Nguyen, on Flickr D262E23D-8ED5-46CF-B73C-622BAB65542D by Linh Nguyen, on Flickr 7F2832D6-E0D5-4B5E-8F20-093BC788D67D by Linh Nguyen, on Flickr 105170B6-7B4F-4EBD-AC8F-0952722147DD by Linh Nguyen, on Flickr E1FA7BBC-3A8F-4DB3-9C3B-7E86280721B2 by Linh Nguyen, on Flickr 77A019B7-4CC0-44E7-B80F-70A22DABD165 by Linh Nguyen, on Flickr - the car has independent suspension on all 4 wheels - a working steering wheel, no HOG but that may be added later on - a fake flat six air cooled engine, the “fan” spins as the engine pistons move - manually operated doors, boot, and engine cover - no gear box but a fake gear stick ( which can move up down or left right) is included - a small boot, able to fit a “bag” as shown - two toned simple interior with 2+2 seats, the front seats can be folded/adjustable, a rear view mirror is included as well And in case you are wondering, I did paint the mudguards from Porsche RSR set to be used in this MOC. The rest are standard LEGO parts, except for some strips of black vinyl tape I use as bumper strips to match the real car. Let me know what you think :)
