Hello Fellow Lego Fans. Recently I designed a unique MOC, a classic Lego Street Sweeper that has modern features, but still give homage to the classic Lego Street Sweeper Sets including the 6645, 6649 and 7242. I researched each set, and noticed that their availability was becoming lower. So, I thought it might not be a bad idea to do an updated Street Sweeper version for Town and City builders as a possible release. Having to consider modern design aspects, I did try to "build-into" the MOC an easy conversion of the model for those wanting a more "true" town look. Likewise, in a Vintage City Theme, some design elements might not be correct for the time period. So, this design affords the ability of each interested parties to have the ability to "remove" far more than they might need to "add" to the design to make it fit their layouts. I would not consider this idea a "universal" approach as much as an "adaptable" approach. Following all of these considerations, features, and potential applications of the MOC as a kit, I also had to find a unique design that was believable, kept the parts count under control, and served as a believable "next generation" version to Set 7242. A new feature in this MOC is the use of the Lego 2441 vehicle base, which saved parts, fits modern design efforts and shows that with creativity large scale designs can be implemented on the 2441 chassis. It was an interesting challenge to try and incorporate all of these aspects into the design and still make it visually appealing. Currently, my MOC can be found here on Lego Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/content/project/link/678e85c3-5563-4062-8537-ac26c4761d8e Thanks for allowing me to post. And if any one here likes it, I'll hope they'll drop by Lego Ideas and give it a vote. Happy Building! --Zeeverse
  2. Hi, I am new so I am not sure who to ask. I searched the LDraw Topic Thread of files (which was amazing!). I noticed that Lego Kit 7242 (Lego City Street Sweeper 2005 release) was not showing up in the index, or searches. So, I am a Linux user, and run LeoCAD, I am eventually getting around to trying LDCad, but one hurdle at a time. So, I made an LDR file of the 7242 using LeoCAD. I did some quick screenshots below. Who do I ask about where to and how to submit to the KEY topic area? I don't want to interrupt the threading with a silly post, so I thought I would ask here. Any help would be appreciated. Here's the model as show in LDraw. Any help would be appreciated. Zeeverse

Thanks for the welcomes. I didn't want to say too much or too little. I use LeoCAD, and I noticed you guys have an amazing file selection. I was wanting to build the 7242 off of BL, and figured I would make a 3D file. I also noticed that it doesn't seem to show up in the ldr section. So...who would I talk with about contributing the forum and building the 7242 in my LeoCAD and generating an ldr for the site? Or am I not finding the 7242 because my searches are off? Has anyone done an ldr for the 7242?

Hi Everyone! So, a little about me? I'll be 50 in a few months. I finally bought fully into Lego again with the Technic 8290. I own three to this day. Love that design and that kit. Made my first Bricklink order around 2008. Made my last order last week. I'm a Lego VIP (yahoo!) Favorite Lego Technic Sets: 8263 Technic Snow Groomer any Technic small scale construction set (I own them all in studless since the 8290 including tracking down an 8270 before the prices skyrocketed), and the 8047 because the B model fits the small scale theme 42008 Service Truck 42035 B Model (which set my sights on the 42069) 42069 Extreme Adventure (saving this build for maximum enjoyment!) 42077 Rally Car (I like it, but I don't think I can leave it alone....bricklink is my friend) In Lego system 1, I buy sporadically, sometimes for the design, and many times for MOC parts. Favorite Lego System 1 Theme is 2014 Arctic. Love most of the kits, and own them except the ship and the airplane. Have plans for the Arctic Theme down the road. Bought all of the 2018 Arctic Release to incorporate parts into the 2014 version. Lego Themes I wish I had all of: Tiny Turbos. Could not afford all of what I was buying at the time. One of the Lego Space Themes....it's hard to pick as there are so many good things about each release. Things I plan to change in my Lego experiences: I am going to be buying, or building, a few Town vehicles--maybe as a reimagined MOC. Some of those later town kits are so nostalgic that I can't decide to keep it real or reimagine them in my moc-style. Creator: Parts house. Hero Factory/Bionicle: mostly Hero Factory. Might be the first theme I will complete. Busy busy bee here!
