About Me
I am a 49 year old engineering technologist and an AFOL. Got back into it in the early 2000s. Favorite Themes include Technic. My favorite small Technic model is the 8290. I just love the design of it. Next would be the 9391 tracked crane. I Love the originality. My Technic appreciations is stable-ish but I am by no means a completist collector. I buy a kit because the design appeals to me whether that is the 8259 Dozer, or the 42008 Service Truck. And then there's the occasional wild cards like the 8270 Off Road Crane, and the Technic 8065 Mini Container Truck. In the mid-range, I like the snowmobiles, and quads. Occasionally, I go for a quad like the 9392. I appreciate some of the older technic too, and have added a couple of kits from Brick Link. Next is Hero Factory. It had everything I wanted from Bionicle. I suppose Hero Factory is a guilty pleasure. I don't mind feeling guilty while having the pleasure of messing around with it. I came back to system 1 pretty late, and I must say that where it has been since about 2008 is nothing but a good thing. Sure, there is a quaintness to Lego Town, and I am more than old enough to be a town fan. There are a few designs in there I love for the caricature style. Finally, there is Creator. Again, it's hit or miss. I liked the series they were doing with the smaller cars, and whatever has parts I need for MOCS. Same goes for the new Lego Movie Stuff. There are some gems of parts hidden in there that are just what I needed for my MODS and MOCs. These days, I buy kits that I see a MOD, or MOC coming from. Many of my MOCs now just start in my head.
