  1. Excited for smaller sets! I just got Rivendell and it’s going to be a while (if ever) before I feel comfortable spending that kind of money on a lego set again, so smaller but still displayable sets are very welcome!
  2. I personally think lotr would be perfect for dioramas!
  3. Sorry I worded it a bit weirdly, I was more worried about worse discounts due to increased interest in the theme. But I guess that’s not likely to happen?
  4. Does anyone know if discounts for Rivendell are likely to be affected by the reveal of Barad-dûr? On the one hand, there will be a new shiny lotr set which may lead to better discounts? On the other hand, there might be renewed interest in the theme? Or it might simply not affect the Rivendell price at all? I’ve been eyeing Rivendell at a discount for a while now (it’s currently at 13% off here).
  5. I assume many people who buy lotr lego are collectors, and don’t want to miss out on exclusive sets. I’ve frequently seen Rivendell at 20% off or more, so the gwp will likely turn out to be very expensive since you have to buy at full price to get it. Timed exclusive gwps exploit fomo and are very anti-consumer.
  6. Images of all the sets are up on brickset.com :)
  7. They did stickers before sadly, the parade from last year had them for example (part of the reason I never bought it). It’s a shame, the CNY sets used to be filled with prints and no stickers for a while
  8. Exciting!! The Chinese New Year sets are always really good, even for someone like myself who don’t celebrate Chinese New Year! I hope it’s something to do with food. I missed out on the dinner set a couple of years back (I don’t think they sold it in the west?), although I was able to buy the printed food pieces from ‘bricks and pieces’ surprisingly enough
  9. The dog with the dinosaur bone and the broken pottery from the exhibit are cute details!
  10. Looks good but lacks the wow factor for me that some modulars had (the hotel for example). I was picturing it covered in ivy which (I think) would’ve made it a bit more cozy. As it is, it feels more imposing which I guess is accurate from the natural history museums I’ve seen.
  11. The Orient Express company certainly seems to put all their focus on the cars
  12. A bit late to the party, but I love how absurd this set looks with the base plate balancing on the underground section. I feel for all of you that mainly want to finish off diagon alley though. I’m not surprised Lego sells it as one set, but it would’ve been more consumer friendly to sell it as two sets (or even three) The “Gringot Ts Bank” stickers are frankly embarrassing though. Inexcusable for a set of this price
  13. It’s hard to tell what with the distortion and poor resolution, but I think at least a few of the smaller trees should be visible if the build was completely unchanged from the leak?
  14. I’m confused by the interior pics… The walls behind the jazz band are brown, does that mean that the blue color doesn’t go all around the building? And the guy at the table looks like he’s using an old-school telephone???
