[MOC] [WIP] Zombillenium - Amusement Park
Here are some official updates about the project : Fourth illuminted buildings : Zombillenium - 4 buildings enlighted by Briksmax by Stephle59, sur Flickr First part of Swampland quarter : Zombillenium, Swampland - 1st module done ! by Stephle59, sur Flickr Creepy Halloween 2024 ! Zombillenium - Creepy Halloween 2024 ! by Stephle59, sur Flickr Concert stage updated : Zombillenium - updated concert stage by Stephle59, sur Flickr Yesterday, I had the surprise to see it blogged to TBB : https://www.brothers-brick.com/2024/11/24/lego-zombie-concert-stage-is-a-graveyard-smash/ So happy ! --> And what about WIP now ? I'm working to the update of the carroussel : Zombillenium, carousel update [WIP] by Stephle59, sur Flickr I disassembled it completely to correct its faults. I reinforced the hub base, and added a freewheel chain that works like a ball bearing. It wedges the plate of the merry-go-round, and limits friction. I removed the motor from the hub because it generated too much vibration and therefore tended to move out of alignment. I moved it to another plate for aesthetic reasons, and replaced the extension cable with a transmission system based on Technic ball-and-socket joints. The system works, but it still generates quite a few jerks. I'll see if I can improve it a bit later. You'll also notice that the baseplate has been redesigned to make the floors more uniform. It's more sober, but more in the style expected in the comic. And I'm integrating Briksmax's wireless connectors to the roof of entrance building : Zombillenium, integration of Briksmax wireless connectors by Stephle59, sur Flickr It's easier to install it to the landscape.

Thank you so much Berthil ! So happy to present the work in progress on the new Swampland quarter: : Zombillenium, Swampland quarter - WIP by Stephle59, on Flickr There will be 4 attractions in addition to the restaurant : - Lead us not into tentacles - Charity's Bazaar Placed on one side of Voodoo Street, and on the other : - Werewolves Den - Swampland And I'm taking advantage of my break from exhibiting in France to revisit what's already there, and in particular to modify the parts that suffered during the outings. This is the case of the park towers, which not content with this refresh, have been fitted with a new Briksmax LED kit. I used the one from the New Beetle Creator, which enabled me to make a rather fine integration, as space is at a premium in certain areas, particularly at the top of the towers, contrary to what you might think. Zombillenium - Both towers top upgraded ! by Stephle59, on Flickr Zombillenium - Both towers top ugraded (details) by Stephle59, on Flickr The restaurant tower is now also lit from below. The management tower is fully visible, with a view of Francis Von Bloodt's office, which was barely visible before.

Here is the Vampire State Building ! Zombillenium, Vampire State Building done ! by Stephle59, on Flickr This building is a free inspiration of the one found in volume 5 of the comic Zombillénium "Black Friday". Some info : - Just over 7000 bricks laid - Almost 100 hours of work since the beginning of the construction, at least half of which were spent dismantling and redesigning whole sections of the building - 1m high - 48 x 48 studs, not including the part of the kiosk at the front. Zombillenium, Vampire State Building details by Stephle59, on Flickr It will be presented for the first time to the public at Fana'briques french exhibition on October 1st and 2nd.

Thank you so much AntiZombie :) Some small details of this assembly, while waiting for the continuation: Zombillénium - Both towers's building details by Stephle59, on Flickr I've assembled about 9000 parts, structures included here. I estimate that with the roller coaster and the scenery, I should be in the range of 20,000 - 25,000 parts. You can also see the power box that lights the tower of the panoramic restaurant. Can't wait for the last order from Lego to arrive, so I can finish the roofs of the left building.

I start this first post of the year 2022 by wishing you my best wishes for this new year! May it be rich in reunions, exhibitions and other beautiful meetings! Zombillenium - Happy New Year 2022 by Stephle59, on Flickr You can also discover the central part of the amusement park, with its two main buildings. There are about 50 parts missing to finish the roof of the left building, I'm waiting for the order from Lego... More pictures soon.

And now, I am happy to present you the finally finished building: Zombillenium, first roller coaster building done ! by Stephle59, on Flickr Zombillenium, first roller coaster building done ! by Stephle59, on Flickr It's very hard to take a picture of it at home, with the steering tower which is 1m40 high. The chimneys have received the cables that reinforce them. No Lego string which is too thick here, I opted for polyester thread from Güttermann, thinner and stronger. More soon !

What's next: Zombillénium, roller coaster building WIP (2) by Stephle59, on Flickr Quite a few things here: - the rollercoaster lead car gets the newest skull from the Ninjago sets. The miner's helmet holds, but the clutch power isn't great. No choice here : I had to put a little bit of paste to fix it so that it doesn't fall in the loop... But it's clearly nicer like that, isn't it? - the rails are raised by one plate as planned. - the footbridge is well advanced, the railings are partly made with Ninjago samurai swords - the platforms are almost finished, the hazard warning strips are in place and the black side seals imitating real rubber ones are all installed. 'Mind the gap', as the voice of the London Underground would say - the electrical cabinet, the secret entrance to the elevator of the management tower, is also put in place - all the exterior walls are taking shape. I'll be relieved when the bulk arrives, the stock of medium nougat bricks is very low...

[MOC] [WIP] Zombillenium - Amusement Park
In fact I have different sources to advance on the project: the books, the sketches that the author sent me, the eponymous film (the freeze-frames are salvific by the way), and the author himself, which helps greatly And now, I start again after the summer vacations. Zombillénium, roller coaster building WIP by Stephle59, on Flickr I started the construction of one of the two big buildings that will host the towers, here for the management tower. This is the one that houses the loading docks for the roller coaster. As expected, I was inspired by Bruno Couchinho's design to create it. The two large chimneys made me want to add a coke oven as a decoration, among other things. This oven is "functional", I added a light brick to simulate the coal heating inside: The gas recovery is also part of it, as well as the yellow/black paint to show the dangerous places, here on one of the pylons of the structure. I'm currently working on finishing the boarding platforms, raising the rails by one plate because the cars are too low. And the famous electrical cabinet that serves as the entrance to the elevator, like in the movie. All this will be published soon
