Google defines an inn as “a pub, typically one in the country, in some cases providing accommodation”. Or “•HISTORICAL, a house providing accommodation, food, and drink, especially for travellers.” So in ye olden days it was more what you’re thinking, but also it sometimes still is today, but sometimes it’s just a pub.

Exactly. What we have to remember is that Lego designers not only have to make something that looks good, but they have to it make stable and buildable. MOCers have no such limitations, and can make things as flimsy and as complicated as they like for the sake of detail. I think the designer of the jazz club did a great job.

A lot of people thought the police station was really bland, and they strongly disliked the layout with a skinny building either side of the main building. Parisian restaurant will probably remain one of the best for several more years, as it deserves to. People thought the brick bank was too small and didn’t like the laundromat on the side. The point is these buildings really grow on you if you let them. It is true that these days they are smaller on average than they used to be, but they are also more complex and detailed, due to the wider array of pieces available. I like the jazz club and look forward to adding to my collection.
