  1. I would really like to get a Durmstrang ship, but I'm in no means desperate. I think a $80-110 US set would be okay as long as it came with some scenery and an exclusive Karkaroff. I really don't want anything more expensive and certainly not a D2C. That would be such a waste on a ship we see for a couple of seconds with no known interior. I'm certain that we will eventually get it and I can see it being the cheaper retail exclusive. I just hope the designers don't got overboard.
  2. I really want the Carrows. I'm pretty sure that this isn't the only BOH set we'll get, so I won't be devastated if they don't appear. I can see us getting the Ravenclaw common-room as a room inside a building, which would help make them more likely. I hope your 'predictions' are right. I would appreciate another Hogwarts set in the wave. Maybe a boat house and bridge set to accompany a courtyard and tower.
  3. I was an Harry Potter fan exclusively until it ended in 2011, then I switched to DC and a tiny bit of Star wars. Then as DC began to die, Harry Potter was revived and drew me back in instantly. I've been struggling lately as Star wars and Marvel have improved, especially in 2021. Budgeting is going to be hard this year!!!!!!
  4. I was having a think about the likely hood of the 'Expecto Patronum' set being a diorama. The age range we were told for 76414 is 14+. The diorama sets are meant to be aimed at an older audience. So all of the Star Wars and the Jurassic Park dioramas are all 18+. Assuming they don't change the purpose of the dioramas for the Harry Potter theme, 76414 is most likely a play set and not a diorama as it doesn't fit the trend of age ranges. Further, I would argue because of the older age range in the first place (14+), it is far more likely to be a DH set than a POA. This is just pure speculation, and the other two deathly hallows sets have been 8-9+. So maybe this is at least a darker set or something challenging like the mechanic patronus being described before.
  5. I'm really with you here. I always felt that Harry Potter was a theme that had reasonably priced sets and didn't create unnecessary big and expensive sets. This wave has really changed my mind. The only set I'm very happy with is the BOH. I really liked what they did design-wise with the March wave and I can see them doing a great job with the build and minifigures. Expecto Patronum is either a POA diorama or a DHP1 Lake set. If it's the latter, then I will be very happy. A big, spacious tent, small lake and rock build, Doe patronus and a few Snatchers. If it's the diorama, then I will be very disappointed. Dobby and his sock is fine. If it's very creepy or very cute, I'll get it. The Quidditch trunk is annoying. I liked how they kept the 'Child aimed' (Books, 2022 trunk, banners) sets to March. I'll save my complete judgement until I see it. A $430 Gringotts is too much. I was looking forward to a Gringotts D2C around the $200 price range. That made sense. Each block was approx $100, so having a double sized block for Gringotts made sensed. This is just excessive. I know once I see this, I'll want it. But still. If they had a $60 vault and track play set and then a $200 building that would have been perfect. If this set comes with a Leaky Cauldron (The Diagon Ally building I want the most), I could see the price point becoming more achievable. If the other D2C is the Knight Bus, then that is an easy pass. If they lock away Aunt Marge behind this set I will be very annoyed. The fate of this wave falls on the shoulders of the two mystery sets. I hope they follow what the 2022 wave did, with the three 'out of Hogwarts' sets (MOM, SS and GP). If they do Malfoy Manner, the Lovegood house, Bathilda's house, Hogshead or the Shell Cottage then that will give this wave a huge plus. I also wouldn't mind another Hogwarts expansion to go with BOH, maybe the bridge. There is still hope for this wave, but I lost a lot for it today.
  6. 1. Malfoy Manner with better Bellatrix and new Narcissa 2. Battle of Hogwarts with Bell towers, proper courtyard and destroyable wooden bridge 3. $400 Diagon Ally extension, Leaky Cauldron, Borgin and Burkes and large Gringotts with the Ironbelly on top 4. Inferi Cave, 2 Inferi + Harry, Dumbledore and a boat 5. Forbidden Corridor that can connect to the 2021 models 6. Hogshead with Aberforth
  7. I would really like this too. I hope they end up finishing the rest of the forbidden corridor as that too could have stone walls. A small set with the winged keys, maybe a small chess set or way to connect the 2021 chess set and then a mirror of Erised. It would also be nice to get another Quirrell as we haven't seen him since 2018.
  8. I thought I would also rank the waves/ years of Lego Harry Potter (since the reboot) 1. 2020 wave. Best D2C, best Hogwarts modular (Astronomy tower, but the ROR is pretty good for the price), a better CMF series, The Burrow is incredible, so was Privet Drive (Just wish we got Aunt Marge). Grawp encounter had great figs and a nice build for Grawp. Hedwig was an original idea and the Yule-Ball advent calendar is the best so far. 2. 2022 wave. I liked the new moments more than the original 4. Dumbledore's office is the best modular of the new system, with The Hospital wing being a close second. Grimmauld Place and Shrieking Shack were great doll house displays. Decent D2C and advent calendar. Only one disappointment, Sirius' escape. 3. 2018 wave. Great way to revive the theme. The Great Hall and Womping Willow are excellent. Really great display piece in the D2C. I really liked the platform 9 and 3/4 that came with the Express. Good CMF, but many wasted spots. I liked the Fantastic beasts sets, but wasn't in love with either. The Quiditch set was fine, but nothing special. Aragog's lair was fine too. A solid wave, perfect starting point, but not as great as I remembered. 4. 2021 wave. Good to get a January wave. The moments were fun, but I liked the 2022 moments more. Art set was fine. The new system was okay when used well, but the exteriors were severely downgraded to what we were used to. I really liked the interiors and figs of the Chamber of Secrets and the Polyjuice Potion mistake. Both have great interiors, but Fluffy encounter was pretty poor overall. The flying lesson was fine. Hogsmead was excellent. Not a big fan of the chess set because the pieces roll around and the advent calendar wasn't great. Fawkes was too similar to Hedwig. I still think the maxifigs look ugly and they are one of the few sets I have which are not on display. I liked the Golden figs, but not the frog cards. The icons set is okay, but my least favourite D2C. 5. 2019 wave. It's by no means bad. But not enough highlights. I love the Beauxbaton's carriage. The Rise of Voldermort is also great. The Night bus is good too. Clocktower is my least favourite Hogwarts modular of the old wave. The hospital wing, Moody classroom and Dumbledore's office a much better in their 2022 editions. The bottom floor is empty. I like the prefect bathroom and the new prints for the figs. I really dislike the look of the Hungarian Horntail. It also breaks too easily. Expecto Patronum has a flimsy build, but a good new mold. I like the introduction of the advent calendar, but it is improved on in the coming years. NO D2C and a boring GWP. Good by standards of other themes, but compared to the other Harry Potter waves.
  9. 1. The Astronomy Tower 2. The Ministry of Magic 3. 12 Grimmauld place (I've got 2 bags left, but I am loving it) 4. Attack on the burrow 5. Hogwarts: Great Hall 6. Hogsmead village 7. Diagon Ally 8. Dumbledore's Office 9. Hogwarts: Chamber of Secrets 10. Beauxbaton's Carriage 11. Hogwarts: Polly-Juice Potion mistake 12. Hogwarts: Room of Requirement (2020) 13. The Shrieking Shack 14. Hogwarts: Hospital Wing 15. Fawkes: Dumbledore's Phoenix Honourable mentions (16 and 17): Rise of Voldermort and Forbidden Forrest: Umbridge Encounter
  10. Hi I’m normally on the HP server, so I’m not quite sure if this is the right server to post this question. I just had a question for any Australians here. I’m am wanting to purchase 2 of the new sets. The obi wan star-fighter and the inquisitor ship. I know that Lego’s prices are going to increase in august, which is also the month that they come out. Should I preorder the sets before they go up in price or should I wait until they get into Kmart and get discounted. The Kmart discount is inconsistent, but would be significant for the latter set. I’m not sure what the best option is, hopefully some of your experience will be helpful.
  11. if this has suited Voldermort or epilogue characters this could be good. If it’s just train workers or random students, this may the second easiest pass. Second to only the maxi-figs. This means I will be able to focus on the incredible wave we have in our hands. They should have made the ministry or 12 grimald place the D2C. Never lose hope. We will get Gringotts eventually!
  12. I just saw SOD and I was very charmed by it. It had nice comedy, the actors were great and the plot felt interesting. I hope people give this movie a good chance because I quite enjoyed this. On a Lego side of things, I think there are a bunch of minifigures and small set pieces that could be made and can’t see any stereotypical Lego sets that fit in the movie. Because the movie hasn’t come out properly yet, I won’t spoil anything. However I will say a couple stuff from the trailers. The big standout set idea would be Bhutan. I thing there could be some great characters and creature moulds. I also think that the cave scene (trying to be as vague as possible) would work as a small set. I know there is a very small chance that a set or a wave would ever be made, but it’s nice to dream.
  13. Don’t we all. It would be great if he came with a deluminator as well. I would also like a good Vinda Rosier and a younger Nicholis Flamel.
  14. I just got the hospital wing and I’m not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet. But the instructions are really fun now. When you finish a section there is a spot light effect and there’s a small Harry at the bottom to show how far in the build you are. I’m about to order the trunk, divination book and one of the ‘the Batman’ sets so maybe the other sets will have a different version of Harry at the bottom because this version has the Pos Harry from the set. I am also very much looking forward to how the hospital wing fits in with Dumbledores office and the dark tower.
  15. I am living for this COS love Fest right now. I adored that set the second I saw it. It just has such a colourful feel to it. The pink Dumbledore, the green snake heads, the glow in the dark NHN. I actually think that I wouldn’t want the COS any other way . I’m a huge fan of things connecting to each other. That’s why this new system works so well for the forbidden corridor and the COS. I wouldn’t be very interested in a COS set like the 2002 version where it has a heap of empty play space. It had the head, it had a slide. It was exactly what I wanted. I’m normally completely #greyroofs. But a point that I think many people fail to highlight is that because the rock base is in dark blue-ish grey. The green roofs work better then the #greyroofs as they contrast better. The clips I’ve seen of people who have replaced the green roofs with greys ones make them fit better with the old line up. But they make the rock work look out of place.
