  1. Howdy Folks! For last years Brickmania Antwerp, me, Kabel, Captain Braunsfeld, Loves houses and Legostone teamed up to do a Wild West layout. You might have visited and seen it, or saw pictures of it here in the forum (I can't seem to find pictures of the whole damn thing, so post 'm if ya got 'm). Today I want to show you my contribution; Ding Dong Alley. Why is it called Ding Dong Alley? Just because it sounds cool. My part of town attached directly to Kabels to the side street left to the saloon. The others where just, well, all over the place. Let's start of with an overview: And then the 4-4-0 locomotive, modelled after the Leviathan:http://locomotive.wikia.com/wiki/Central_Pacific_4-4-0_Leviathan The first car is a cattle car: The second one is a passenger coach, I am really happy how I dropped the 9 volt motors into the frame: Then a transport wagon with 2 cavalry field cannons (same as behind the covered wagon): And the last is ofcourse a caboose: Along side the track is a small freight station: And a water tower: A friendly group of Indians has set up camp to the east (this part used to be bigger with rocks and all, but I needed the parts...): The sherrifs are having a shootout wit some bad guys in the alle (in the whole thing we had about a hundred sherrifs I think haha): A band of Union soldiers is riding through town: The stage coach delivers mail and locked packages? In the Saloon there is a bit of a brawl going on. Glass is flying through the windows and the owners swiftly kick out te troublemakers while the ladies that work there wave at men from the balcony. In the alley next to the Saloon is the military contracting office: On the other side of the Saloon is the Drug store. I was planning to make store signs, but it didn't happen,so: And next to that is the General store: And as last, the back of the Alley: Well that's all folks!
  2. I Will host it again this Saturday, more info here: https://kaf.nl/expo/seizoen-2017-2018/masterclass-rick-bewier-het-kasteel-van-almere/
  3. Tickets are available untill the last day, unless we sell out. Maximum attendants is 30. Would be cool to see some of you there!?
  4. Awesome Job!?
  5. Well, the idea is we build castles and I tell about techniques and assist the builders. There might even be a prize for best the build.
  6. Hi guys, I Will be hosting a build masterclass on the 23d of november in the cultural centre in Almere the Netherlands. Tickets are only 3 euro, so if you'd like to join it would be great! Find all info here:https://kaf.nl/expo/seizoen-2017-2018/masterclass-rick-bewier-het-kasteel-van-almere
  7. Thanks guys! It was a fun operation and a pleasure to work with Stefan. We made a setup using a variation of cloths, angles and lighting. The smoke comes from my E sigaret.?
  8. Your layout looks really nice Patrick, keep sharing!
  9. Wow, so lovely ydillic, top notch!
  10. Excellent model, instantly recognizable!
  11. Superb, love all the litle detail!
  12. That is beautiful and very creative, awesome!
  13. Oooh, chrome! Very nice model, it didn't even look like Lego at first glance.
  14. These are real masterpieces, well done! Must be a great honour to show your work in such a great place?
  15. Frans, the owner of Blokbricks is a really neat builder and a most friendly and helpful person. Shipping from the Us to Holland usually takes between 2 and 4 weeks, depending on the service chosen. Customs usually take up most of that time, nothing to do about that. So yes, I'd definitely order if you like it!
  16. Amazing display again! The run down look is so well executed! Congratiulations and I really hope to join in some day.
  17. Thank you all for voting, the hms tribute has won! It is actually build by Legostone, hè wil get the trophy next time we meet. Second in is the Tuna King, which is made by Maxim I. Third is the Piercing flame from Sebeus I. And lastly the Hms whatever by TitusV. It was a great weekend and it was fun to host it all. Enjoy the prize and bragging rights Legostone!
  18. Very cool! You might also try the 1x1 tile with clip and then upside down plates/bricks for a smaller gap in the side.
  19. It looks great, I like the angled galleries! My point of improvement would be the headrails.they sort of point forwards, where they should angle up a bit.
  20. Last weekend me, Maxim I, Legostone, TitusV and Sebeus I got together. To start off the Saturday we visited the replica of VOC ship the Batavia. To me this is the most beautiful replica ship in the world. It is build according the way they did things back in the day. It has no motor and can actually sail. Batavia visit (4) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr The stern, you can clearly see they are doing maintenance. Even the scafolds are somewhat historically correct. You don't see that every day. Batavia visit (5) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr Discussing how to make stuff in Lego at the bow. Batavia visit (1) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr In the sail shop, we also visited the rope maker, the smith and the model shop. Batavia visit (6) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr At the wharf they are also building a replica of the 7 provinces, the flagship of Michiel de Ruyter, Sadly we learned that they had to stop work due to the lack of funds and volunteers. We took the guided tour which was very educational. I thank our guide for all the information, I actually learned a few things. After the visit of the Batavia it was time to build! I hosted a little competition called Ship Build Off #1. The idea is that everybody had to have a ''finished'' ship by Sunday 21:00h. They had to make their own pictures and send them to me. So we got busy: Work by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr And we got some progress: Progress by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr Like any good contest there is a prize. In this contest the builders can win this trophy I made (well, it still needs sails and so): Trophee by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr Entry nr. 1 is the Tuna King: Tuna King (2) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr Tuna King (1) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr Tuna King (3) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr Entry nr. 2 is the HMS Tribute: HMS Tribute (1) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr HMS Tribute (2) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr HMS Tribute (3) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr Entry nr. 3 is the Piercing Flame: The Piercing Flame (1) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr received_10210678542551190 by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr The Piercing Flame (3) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr And, well... nr. 4 didn't really get the concept of building a ship so we'll just call it HMS Whatever: HMS Whatever (2) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr HMS Whatever (1) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr HMS Whatever (3) by Captain Green Hair - don't just favour, comment!, on Flickr So please vote for your favourite in the poll which will be open untill Wednesday the 29th of March, midnight Dutch time. Oh and of course I build something too, but I won't compete. 21. She has turned out really nice mate!? I look forward to the next!
  22. Another masterpiece, I hope you bring it to bma so I can study it!?
  23. So, I'm curious. Let's say I upload a Moc that hits 10.000 and get's produced. An honour ofcourse, but a potential big sale for Lego too. Question is, what does the designer get?
  24. Super awesome, well done!? Can't say what my favourite detail is, since it all goes together so well. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I surely remember this part and uou got it spot on!
