  1. Pic of the set is out guys! Found it on FB. I am sure it's pretty much everywhere else now. Liked the set on the box a bit more than its pic itself! PS: it's orange with strong black accent
  2. Ofc! I mean we are bound to see photos, are not we? Just do not know how soon it will be! I guess pretty soon...
  3. Like Jokos said does not look fake to me at all. I did miss the posts from the olden days when people would jump to say "it is a fake!!!" here and there. So thanks for that And it is most probably getting the yellow/orange colour treatment which is noice.
  4. Thanks for replying even though it has been ages. Thanks to AllanP’s valuable inputs it is now fixed. The driving rings seemed to have jammed a little whenever the gear switcher would change its position. It just wondered me that a very slight position changes of the connector(s) on which the driving rings are put on would cause the axles to spin.
  5. One liner conclusions are tough ya know. However, I second that. Two very well-made fan-loved sets (Mac Anthem, Rally car), the BIG Red, the 1/8 Chiron with orange rotary catch that is arguably much loved by casual sheep, variety of sets like the First Responder, the Yacht, Forest Hervester, Heavy duty forklift, and a Volvo versus BWE, the first 1/8 scale Supercar which many regard as the best 1/8 in terms of Technic spirit (with huge mods from community, ah I love the enthusiasm and pages-after-pages discussions in EB), a Klaas Xerion, the EW160E, a somewhat underwhelmed Helicoptre and a drag racer and several forgettable sets. Nah, I would go with 2018.
  6. Every Lego part is a creation themselves I think. Just imagine the full bush being a container or a barrel itself
  7. A gearbox, at the end of the day, is a gearbox. So, it has it. By it I meant gearbox which I am pretty much sure everyone understands it. What I bracketed in my post is a further information. Let me get it very clear to ya: all the Technic sets released SO FAR in 2024 except for a two-wheeler (otherwise known as a bike under the brand Kawaski, thanks to ur correction) do not have a gearbox which the 10334 Icons set has. What kind of rotary catches they have is a sub/different topic.
  8. Edited. Nope. The 2023 Yamaha has it. Looks like the bikes been saviors for 2023 and 2024 (so far) for Technic geaeboxes
  9. Racingbrick's review for Icons set 10334 is out. And OMG it has a gearbox inside (featuring the orange wave selector) which all the Technic sets minus the Kawasaki released so far in 2024 don't have! 42172 and 42177! Come out come out! The set is excellent, by the way.
  10. That's why as I have said earlier I really do not have my hopes too up for the set, at least not yet. They slap a 7-speed gearbox sticker on the 42156 and a lever for a non-exiting gearbox on the 42154 🤦🏻‍♂️ (both do have new parts with faithfully recreated suspension system and it is 2024) Guess we will know in bits by bits soon.
  11. In that case, if the suspension system(s) are faithfully recreated, diff-locks are implemented and so is the AWD, then the gearbox will be a welcome thing or icing on the cake? Based on what I have read so far, the diff-locks are much anticipated from this Lego model. I just hope they don't slap a sticker saying it has a gearbox like they did with the 42156
  12. For all the combined Lego themes maybe. But from Technic theme perspective I am not sure. The H2 sets are not even out yet. I think nope. For its size Lego would have to make smaller shocks for this. But the set is lit. I have not paid any interest in Senna Bolide etc. from the past years. I am seriously eyeing on this one
  13. Also, of all the 2024 Technics released this far, the Dune Ornithoptre is arguably the most functional and good looking Technic set without the Technic logo on it 😝
  14. The Supercars have been the August release. But they used to get leaked around this time of the year since they are Lego (websites and stores) exclusives and have been available from June 1. However, if we look at the recent leaked info's provided by Jim it's wider August release is pushed back to September? Maybe that's why the news/stuffs are coming a bit later. Cannot tell about G500 4x4. And the Jesco is not ugly, but it subjectively is
  15. Guys, my 8880 was collecting dust for 2+ years. So, I decided to disassemble it. I kept the parts unassembled for a while and then I started rebuilding it (for it to collect dust for another 4/5 years). However, during the progress and after the build is complete, I have found that the Engine pistons are still moving while the car is in neutral mode. Is that normal? Am I missing something? 🤔 In my first build, I could not remember if I drove that car while in neutral mode.
  16. Nope. Racingbrick did test with the (now not so) new 20t and 12t gears. They still click. Check it here: The gears were just one part of the story IMHO. The way the whole chassis designed for that incredibly complex transmission was not JUST ENOUGH. That I think is the leading reason. However, they will certainly help make that stuff improved if all that factors are taken care by Lego, using those new gearbox parts from Yamaha bike.
  17. I found the review more informative and helpful. Here he talks about the pivot point issue between oscillating axles and the actual plantery hub-axles. LOL, the mini Kill-E has better/smoother negotiation with objects for suspension.
  18. I really do not have too much hope up for this set, at least not yet. The main reason/culprit is that 18+ logo. Usually, those of us who are less experienced enjoy all the initial posts about an upcoming set from the Technic legends here on Eurobricks as part of the hype up. It's cool. I see many are [quite legitimately] comparing or are hoping the Merc G500 as an evolution over the Technic Defender. But, please be mindful that the Defender was an 11+ set. Sure, 18+ was not a Technic thing back then but when a set like Merc Zetros or Airbus H175 or Defender or Audi Q e-tron still comes every year with no 18+ logo where their functional performance is the topmost priority from the maker it looks like Lego still thinks or envisions 18+ as a display-oriented material. Yes, the Cat D11(T) or the Liebherr LR13000 are flagships but I think they are the exceptions within the 18+ realm. I think there was a set released between 42110 and the upcoming 42177 which mostly fall in this jeep/pickup category- it is the 42126 Ford Raptor which I think is notoriously bad in terms of stock build expereince- be it the building Techniques or the functions. That rear live axle was weak. The front suspension was wobbly. The tires were not right. Some built modules felt a bit unfinished. Since 2023, the situation seems to have improved upon the release of Yamaha MT10SP or the Peugeot 9x8 Hypercar. One has revolutionary gearbox the other one has one of the best sturdy/rigid builds. However, the latter did not include any gearbox. I have built it in January and honestly the magic goes away as soon as the building is done no matter how beautifully its pullrod/pushrod suspension system was implemented. I fear, the 4x4 will end up being a Display Queen despite having more than double the piece count of 42126 or being labeled as an 4x4 Off-roader of something which is a real life top-notch off-roader. Yes, the 42126 can be made into awesome creations or can be improved greatly over its original setup but here people are hoping for an out-of-the-box wow factor that we had experienced back in 2019. Again, I will be very happy to have myself proven wrong! Continue this awesome discussion!
  19. It won't. It is not from TLG or is simply fake. Look at the piece count: 3662 pieces
  20. Looks like Goc Guyen forgot to put RB's review link
  21. Hi, thanks for the follow-up! I had to make do with something which I think is efficient and effective. I observed and found out that the reason the 2L axle connector colliding with this part actually was the orientation of the oval shape of that part. If you take a look at the instructions manual you will see the clutch hole of that perpendicular connector is positioned upwardly and is facing towards the wheel-hub and causing the parts potentially colliding with each other. I used to replace that perpendicular connector which has its clutch-hole part positioned upwardly and now has different oval position. It just does not make any contact with those connectors at all when pushed forward/backward with inclined steering and with/without suspending. That way you do not have to use 8x full bushes; you only need 4 of those 2L beams to make it go away. As for steering, there is certainly one tricky way which can make the rear steering aligned as much straight as possible. Unfortunately I cannot remember how I did that. All I can remember is it had something to do with doing one specific step before the following ones so that you can ensure it can be aligned (although not 100% perfect but close enough).
  22. So to deal with it I have to stop buying since whatever Lego released from 2021 and miss the masterpieces/well designed sets like 42128 and 42145 as well? Sorry. I won't deal it that way. Yes, you can tell you were not suggesting/forcing it to anybody but it is courageous enough for anyone, least to say.
  23. Ford GT is 42154. Edit your Thread’s title. Otherwise it might create confusion before entering the thread. The MOC looks beautiful.
  24. For the sake of arguments- let's take year 2016 or 2018 or even 2019- the last best year for TLG's Technic theme [whoever of us think that way]. Whatever the last best Technic year was it is obvious the past few years specifically 2020-2022 Technic lineup from TLG faced backlash criticisms disappointments sentiments etc. to somewhat larger extent especially when the prices also got higher. Disappointments or critiques will always be there- no matter how great the year it is for the Technic Theme. However, I think 2023 is the year Technic at least did not make mistakes/disappointments to such extent. Lets start with mini sets like the 30655 Polybag, 42147 Dump Truck, 42148 Snow Groomer- all of them seem to have no backlash. Then the Monster Jam Series- no complaints there as well I think. Last year, within similar lineup a backlash or two was raised with the introduction of TWO pullback sets where Zero cogs was used. This year no such complaints. Then come the mid-semi big sets- the 42151 Bugatti Bolide (with its Blue version 42162), the Nascar which IMHO has all the upgrades that a Corvette ZR1 should have from the beginning i.e., the proper use of cams in the Engine etc. The Batcycle was a surprisingly solid bike although innovation was almost absent in it. The 42161 is subjectively clumsy. However, this set receives few complaints [or none] in terms of functionality. And if I have to guess correctly I think it has and will continue to have nice and attractive MOCs out in the wild. I think Functional Authenticity-wise the 42151, 42153, and 42155 all have been solid performers. In this range, I have to give the 42152- the Firefighter Aircraft the upper hand although it is big. This set has surprisingly cool Techniques and functions [notably the lever which uses pullback mechanism to power the propellers is pure genius]- something that all of us desire to see in all the sets released within the same year. All right, next up the 42154. I think it is one of its kind especially for the 2023 lineups. It introduces cool new parts which I guess MOC designers will appreciate much. Moreover, it was from Grohl whose last year's only official design was that lime pullback car. However, the Ford GT 2022 could not escape some backlash- i. its scale and ii. the suspension height. But hey! That's Lego Technic, and at the end of the day if all of them are perfect then what we would have to do LOL. In this respect, I have to say whether you like the car savvy 18+ sets or not, this year the 18+ cars have proven to be better. That brings us to the big and beefier sets for the remaining of 2023. The 42156 Peugeot has become a popular set for all the good reasons. Its clever and solid suspension system and rightfully sturdy body are something definitely deserve praises. Even though it has its little quirks I guess it most probably did the 18+ cars series a lot better. The 42158 NASA Rover is a pure genius in terms of....well everything. It may not drive that well on the surface but it definitely incorporates dense Technic building marvels. Almost same to say for the 42157 John Deere Agro-vehicle. It does quite well whatever it was designed for. Yes, the Pneumatics operations' placement is awkward but the parts the build the details the operations are something not to complain much about it. Like the 42161, it also starts to see cool MOCs from Technic veterans. The 42159 Yamaha bike is my 2nd most liked set for 2023 [the first being the 9x8 Hypercar]. Its introduction to the new gearbox pieces is one of the reasons 2023 is an important and perhaps the better year in recent times. Although it is 1:5 it is way less flimsy or wobbly and I think it functions quite well. The 42160 Audi RS Q e-tron is arguably the most enjoyable stock Control+ set to date. It got many things right specially the axle setups, suspension mechanism and steering. The Buwizz team [lead by @Zerobricks ]made an excellent effort to make it faster with better steering. Last but not the least, the 42146 Liebherr Crane. Well, it divided people. However, it is what it is. There are actually a number of people who bought two of the same model and made a giant [more accurate to proportion] LR13000. I can safely say, had it not been released in 2023 the year would still be considered as one of the better/significant year for TLG's Technic lineup. I guess the two factors that affected this year are: 1. the ever increasing price and 2. "too much" cars. However, if I am to put these factors aside, I think this year has brought improvements over the yester years. And although 2020-2022 seem lackluster/uninteresting in terms of lineups I guess each of the year brought significant Technical achievements/serious attempts i.e., 2020's 42114's transmission, 2021's Zetros's Technologies, 2022's H175 Airbus and even the 42139 All-terrain vehicle. Let me know what you guys think of this year especially when compared with the previous years. Just don't shoot me or each other . And let's try not to act like a Lego representative. Free your mind. PS: I did not use any translator. I write my own English. If any sentence/part seems hard to understand- my sincere apologies. I frequently visit to check if I made [mostly] any grammatical or factual error after-the-fact and if I find any I try to edit them as much as possible. Thanks.
