  1. Really cool - like the color scheme, looks like camo.
  2. The flags was intended to be some kind of ID for the ship. Ideal would be one with a number och character on it instead, but I don't have any of that kind (and custom decals aren't really my thing - don't even own a color printer).

Let me present my first Vic Viper inspired creation: The UVMK1 (Utility Vehicle Mark 1) "Stallion" Built for the mining companies in the outer rim of the galaxy, digging asteorids for valuable raw materials. Based on a military design, this workhorse is a space-tractor with its powerful fusion-engines and flexible Maglev hovering system. After the Final War, there was a lot of these left over that was converted to civilian usage, with their ordnance stripped off but the power plant left untouched. The Maglev was added to make the ship useful at close surface missions where the engines would be dangerous to use. But some of the military legacy of the ship has been restored due to the high numbers of pirates roaming around. Two powerful laser guns is standard issue for self defence (and does not conflict with the load capacity), but if more firepower is needed, additional weapons can be fitted at the belly-mount...
  4. He might be from Bulgaria, but the bus is hugarian - at least the hand-written signs and the company brand at the front. And the same make was very common in Budapest...
  5. Must be a hungarian designer behind this - recognices the source... Nicely done with all features there...

Time for a MOC from space - it was made for a competition at Swebrick. The idea was to design an X-Wing killer as an alternative to the classic TIE-fighters. As this ship is not a true StarWars vehicle, I decided to put it in the Sci-Fi section instead. The (fantasy) story behind the ship was that the Sinear Fleet System (the company behind the legendary Lambda Class T4a shuttle) was developing a new weapon system that should combine the flexibility of a star fighter and the long range capabilities of a cruiser. The ship is a prototype for testing weapons and propulsion system, build using spare parts and leftovers from other ships to save cost. The final product would have been much sleeker when finished, but the project was cancelled due to budget cuts by the Empire... The build was intended to be minifig-scale and to resemble the Lambda style without making a straigt copy in a different color. A lot of detailing of course, and serious weapons... . Features are folding landing gear (using a linear actuator inside the body) and equipped interior (folding canopy). It is rather fragile so it is more a display piece than at swooshable toy... Thank yoy for watching!

Thank You everyone for the nice responses! As a first-time train builder, this is inspiring and there will be more in the future. A few passenger cars would be nice to add, in the same size/scale as the cargo carrier of course. The driver compartment of the train is fully equipped with control panels, seat for one minifig driver and the mandatory coffe cup. It is hard to take descent pictures of, but I could try. Regarding the mono-color approach - this is the way I prefer to build. To create detail primary by structure, not by color. And this is supposed to be military of some kind...

Hi everyone! Not really active here, but building a lot... For a Lego train-event in Norrköping, Sweden, I built this fantasy train, inspired by the Bond-movie "Golden Eye". This is my first try at this area. The train set is pure imagination, set in a future time where small nuclear power plants fuels our vehicles. The tender holds tha actual reactor and the engine is electric. A cargo carrier was added to the set to make it more fun to display. The whole train set is build as 8+ wide (I think it is almost 10 studs wide including the snotted tiles/armor plating) but it runs on regular Lego tracks. My initial idea was to use a triple-boogie setup on the engine, but it did not work IRL (except as a static display piece). The train is powered by PF-components, all of them inside the engine.
  9. Really like this - looks like a kit-car...

I can do that when back home from work... I don't know the price levels regarded as high, but I paid 439 SEK (about $65 US) from a Swedish web-shop. I find it descent considering 1: it is Star Wars and 2: it is Sweden...

At Your request... Bought this set (and the new X-Wing) last week here in Sweden and for a descent price. Really like both...
  12. I can't give any numbers on it as I'm half-way through the collecting process. And I'm usually put these parts inside BL-orders that I need for other projects. Some of the parts will be ordered from Lego direct instead of BL as they are hard to find or very expensive.
  13. Yes - the two parts just snaps together (but it is a bitch to separate - there is a risk to damage the parts in the process) and they spin as freely as two pieces of plastic without any lube or bearings can do.
  14. Got the 9391 today and took some pictures of the new turntable (these shown here is more of UFO-quality...). Also, tried some gears together with the part to see how it meshes. Enjoy! It is not yellow - the lamps are causing this (even with flash used). The gear profile - half-bevel. The meshing used in the set. This config gives a rather rough connection (not that smooth as expected). With a 20T bevel gear, works fine. With a 16T gear on a straight beam - not even connected... Same 16T with a twist - now it works. A 8T must also be used on an angle.
  15. Without seeing the actual design, I will guess it uses the same phenomena as the drive wheels on a regular car without diff-lock. If one wheel get stuck and the other is hanging free, all drive will go to the free wheel. Same here - the support leg that hits the ground first will stop and all force is transferred to the leg that is still in the air.
