algiogia replied to algiogia's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYes, I figured that out. On one side they're half ground to dust ?

Grinding gears and wobbly axles
algiogia replied to algiogia's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYes, skid steering works fine. 42069 looks neat but would add more complexity to the model.

Grinding gears and wobbly axles
I recently built a custom tank and had some issue with gears and axles. The tank is probably heavier than it should be so there is a lot of friction and I am struggling to prevent the gears from grinding. There are two sets of reduction for motor. I have tried to holding the sets together using liftarms but at higher torque they seem to struggle anyway. The second issue I have is with the axles connecting the independent treads to the body of the tank. Since the treads are suspended the axles are the only thing holding it. That is not optimal as the treads spread out or even come off. The suspensions don't seem to hold much, probably due to their "mobile" nature. Any suggestions on how to solve these issues? Here are some pictures for reference: https://imgur.com/gallery/tL4erYo

Advice needed for quad-tread tank differential
I'm trying to build a quad-tread tank (i.e. 2 treads per side). It powered by 2 XL motors - one per side - and I figured I would need a differential for each side so that the treads can spin at different speeds. Not a big deal really but I'm having issues keeping it compact, since the outputs of the differential need to to the front and back rather than the sides of the tank. This makes the motor-differential block either too wide or too tall to fit in the tank. Has anyone links to compact motor/diff blocks? Or any suggestions? I'll try and post some pictures later.

Multiple steps with servo motor?
algiogia replied to algiogia's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThanks brunojj1. Where does the rubber band go?

Multiple steps with servo motor?
algiogia replied to algiogia's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYes, sorry. I've just realized I could put a cog at the end to transfer the movement.

Multiple steps with servo motor?
algiogia replied to algiogia's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThank you Didumos69, very neat. However that only has 4 positions. I was looking into a linear movement, where I can go left or right indefinitely. P.S.: your models are amazing!

Multiple steps with servo motor?
Is anyone aware on a way to use the servo to make multiple steps in a given direction? I.e. rotating it 2 times clockwise would move something 2 "steps" to the left. Then rotating 2 times counter-clockwise would bring it back to the center. Basically I need a mechanism that does nothing when the motor re-centers.

Hello there
I'm algiogia from UK. I've been a fun of LEGO Technic since I was a Duplo. I now use my kids as an excuse to buy more
