[HELP] Generic Building Help Topic
MAVERICK26 replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHere are some pictures: As to the above questions: I believe it will be manually operated. My hope is to use some sort of gear system that can be hooked up to a motor encased in a cargo box in the hold. Separate deployment is definitely an option. It just needs to deploy. I fully intend to have a stand to hold it up. The gear is just there for effect, but balance is also a factor.

[HELP] Generic Building Help Topic
MAVERICK26 replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHi all, First time posting here on this subforum so please let me know if I do something wrong. I'm working on a minifigure scale C-130J Super Hercules cargo airplane. The one part preventing me from moving in the interior is the landing gear. I've seen videos of the stow sequence (how it raises/lowers) and it's proving to be a bit difficult to accomplish with plain bricks, so I decided to turn here for help. The landing gear is stowed by raising up. I believe it could be accomplished by using linear actuators but I'm not quite sure how to accomplish that. It would need to be able to support about 7 pounds, or 3.1 kilos and fit in a 14 stud (L) x 4 stud (W) x 7 stud (H) space. Please know that I'm working on this problem in my own time, so I'm not asking you to do my work for me. I'm just asking for input. Thanks!

I agree that one weapons rack is an improvement but they essentially substituted a WR for a playwall. I do like the microbuilds, though, and might part them out.

Are there any Shadow AT-AT or Elite AT-AT MOCs out there?
@The Clueless: Welcome to Eurobricks! Glad to have you. I think you would be better off finding a MOC that fits your preferences and executing a recolor and touch up to bring it up to snuff. There don't seem to be many sources for these vehicles, the most notable one being Star Wars: Commander. Maybe even recoloring a UCS AT-AT would work. Good luck!

What Minifigures do we cry for next? Gregor? Clone Wars Crosshair? But seriously, the new sets are beautiful. I'm impressed that they didn't leak until 30 minutes before the reveal. The one qualm is, of course, the price. Wish they had swapped price points.

It looks good. Do we have info on whether they've made the little wingpack or not? I couldn't see. Other than that, the one thing I wish that they'd have done would be to put the indent on the helmet. And before I get people saying, 'It's hard to make a new mold! You know the process they go through? etc etc,' I'm wishing. It would just be nice because he, like Rex has a unique design.

[MOC - WIP] Star Destroyer Bridge - Input Wanted
You are absolutely right. I've updated the title to WIP and will scrape together some tiles for it. The dark bley plates are just what I had on hand. Like I said, this design will surely everything evolve over time and many things will change. Thanks for the input!

[MOC - WIP] Star Destroyer Bridge - Input Wanted
The fearsome First Order strikes again! This model occupies over two square feet of your average usable coffee table space at just under (an estimated) 2000 pieces. This behemoth took over two months to design - but I'm not done yet. Before the Christmas season, I hope to have instructions completed. This model is based on the First Order Resurgent-class Star Destroyer's bridge. The original model was a measly 8x12 inches: And used only around 700 pieces. The most difficult part of this stage was creating the curved portion of the front section. This took many iterations to get right. When I had time, I would plan the wings of the bridge. The wings use around 300 pieces for the left-wing (looking from the back) and 350 pieces for the right-wing. Finally, we get to the back extension. This alone uses around 650 pieces and expands the length of the model by 25%. I knew that this would be the last section for one crucial reason: I was running out of space at this point. I wanted to focus more on figure placement for this part, so I left it mainly open while emphasizing the diorama aesthetic. It took a while but I was able to obtain all of the black bricks I needed for the back of the bridge. I think it turned out well. @Monkeyulize, if I may ask for your help designing a UCS sticker for this model, here's that question. The 1x2 technic brick is designed to be used to anchor a figure stand (coming soon) - I know it's there, don't worry. At last, the finished product. A piece fell off during transport but I found it and it's back on. I'm very pleased with this but know it can be improved. If you have any questions or critiques, please don't hesitate to post. I have but one request: stay civil. I will update this post with more design changes and processes. The Flickr album link can be found here: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjzSuaU
