  1. The moving balustrades are just the ticket. Would be phenomenal to see a matching set at the top. Do port and starboard switch sides depending on whether you're going up or down stairs?
  2. Really? Dang. I saw an early listing with 4 figs (none named). That further dents my enthusiasm.
  3. I was keen for the Night Buzzard, and it would have been the only Rise of Skywalker set I would have bought but it looks.... kinda small. Like, really small. I wonder what the rumoured 4th figure might be. As for the AAT... I think it looks OK. Dinky but instantly recognisable. I think its important to step back from the AFOL perspective and realise kids tend to prefer something smaller with play features (see also the Rebels Ghost). Dat Ahsoka dough.

I give my word I thought that whole window was a sticker until I zoomed in to a ridiculous degree. Lovely.
  5. Not sure where in the world you are, but recently BL dropped "flesh" and now use "nougat", in UK at least.

Hello there whoever got you that technic set has unleashed a monster... no one buys lego for me anymore as I have bought so much over the years for myself... happy MOCing, its the most fulfilling part of the hobby.
  7. I have never seen a failure as extreme as that. A single hairline crack generally, which sometimes causes the arms to flop a bit if it gets that far. Most of my worst ones are in that date range of 2010 ish.
  8. Hi chaps. Realise this is an old topic but has anyone experienced that certain colours are more prone to cracking? Darker colours like dark green and dark brown (but oddly not black) seem to go much sooner than tans and whites. And these are on figs that have been displayed only, and not in the sun.
  9. I just purchased the TLG set, mainly because getting a Zeb aftermarket is extortionate and I found a used set on bricklink for a steal of a price... and I kinda like it in a goofy sort of way. I think a kid would love it. So I went looking for mod inspiration, found this post and liked it so much I joined eurobricks... so thank you
  10. I naively put a bunch of large grey and white plates through the washing machine in a net bag and forgot to turn to cold wash. They are now warped and unusuable and replacements on bricklink are a pretty penny. prevention being better than cure, a fine soft brush on the vacuum cleaner once in a while is the way forward.

Nice! The smoothness and absence of detail on the wall gives a sense of scale. Almost the opposite effect to, say a star destroyer, where scale is suggested by dozens of tiny pieces.

Thanks chaps @deraven@leafan shouldn't say "new baby" anymore really as he's turned one, and already loves to turn wheels and put bricks together. I might do a few posts on Lego-based parenting!

I am always in envy of builders who can match angles like that. Superb.
  14. (Hi... I'm new) superb design work. I've seen it so many times but only now realised it has the angled 1x2 grill bricks incorporated in the wing. Masterful. Have you a Defender? Watched the Rebels episode which re-introduces it recently, and was reminded how much I like it.
  15. The 12 year old me wrote out a whole comic of my own, having no access to the official stuff... loved this theme. It seemed the most exciting thing in the world that Johnny got a green coat.
  16. As adventurers was my favourite theme as a kid, I absolutely love it when they pop up in modern sets, even ones I won't buy. Like Johnny in TLM, or scooby doo, or even the recent CMF. They do seem to like throwing easter eggs to us (slightly) older guys who were building in that golden age!

Hello eurobricks - good to be here. I'm Mark, an AFOL from rainy northwest England, refusing to turn 30 for as long as possible. I've been a constant lego builder since childhood, never had a dark age and now reaching the point where real life gets in the way of buying and MOCing... new baby etc.... so looking for a way to continue to engage in the hobby. Would like to post occasional MOCs, reviews and humble opinions, after enjoying reading the site for many years. Once I have figured out my way around of course. Currently Modding the 75053 Ghost and scaling up a star destroyer. Favourite themes: Star Wars, LotR (why no Gondor soldiers, lego? Why?) Look forward to it.
  19. No. 1 on the unmade LotR set list! I like that head, a lot. Have you seen the new CMF warrior releases this year... the helmet is a dead ringer for Eowyn in her disguise.
