[TC25] Technic Shrinking Contest - Information Topic
I should have phrased that differently. A picture you found online will suffice. An official product picture. It's just to show us which set/model you used. This is okay, but studio.io is fine by me too. It's just for reference.

Like this? I have included the last post, sorry. Not a big deal. You can edit the first post to the "new first post"

Yeah sure, that's possible.

Technic 2023 Set Discussion
I have split the off-topic discussion into a new topic.

Technic is no longer what it once was
Yup. There are definitely some advantages. Looking at the new Liebherr crane, the max load mechanism is quite ingenious.

Technic is no longer what it once was
Given the plethora of awesome C-models (of the 42100) on Rebrickable, I beg to differ. Admittedly, you can't use the Control+ app to control these models. But it's not that you can't use the electronics. Don't we have a dedicated topic for this off-topic discussion btw?

Generic Contest Discussion
So maybe we need to start discussing more interesting things....like game development. Have done some myself (some simple web and mobile games) And let's end the pay-2-win and bigger-is-better discussion. I understand your point of view and with your background I understand where it comes from.

Generic Contest Discussion
It's never a level playing field when it comes to contests. Size restrictions might level the playing field somewhat, but then there will be other things. I can already tell you that next contest will have color restrictions I do appreciate your opinion (I really do), but you seem to be one of the few people constantly debating the contest setup and rules.

Generic Contest Discussion
This is a personal opinion and not a fact. We are still going strong and the number of contestants doesn't depend on size restrictions, it does depend on the chosen subject, time of the year, etc. The last couple of contests have been very specific, but check out the broad TC20 contest. No size restrictions and 47 entries. So, please don't confuse your opinion with actual facts. Of course you can discuss the contest setup here, but the "bigger always wins" is simply not the case. And we do have plenty of contests for small builds or builds like motorcycles (which automatically is restricted due to tire scale). So I don't think we need to be discussing size restrictions over and over again.

Generic Contest Discussion
Exactly this. Spot on. Also, I’m getting somewhat tired of the “this is not fair, that is not fair” discussions. We have been running contests for ages and we had very few issues and very few complaints. So, let’s simply enjoy building for a contest and stop whining. Besides that, I will come up with my own idea for the next contest instead of having elaborate discussions about it, like last time.

I already have the next contest in mind, so don’t bother

[TC25] Technic Shrinking Contest - Information Topic
Why are you guys giving me such a hard time with the stickers I am not a big fan of allowing home printed stickers, because it might open up a can of worms. But if you EXACTLY match the scale I am okay with it. Unless there are objections from other contestants.

[TC25] 42039 - 24 Hour Race Car (Free Instruction)
The rules were pretty simple. Just scale down a model. It's only logical that the more you deviate from the original, the less points you will score. That's no rocket science. And yes, using some alternative parts will obviously be necessary, but it's up to the builder to determine how much deviation is acceptable. Don't worry about it. Your model looks awesome, and to be honest; it doesn't even need stickers if you ask me.

I need to add them. Forgot it. Will do that tomorrow. Basically the usual rules with the addition of a picture of the original model.

Then don't choose these models I can see the Extreme off-roader working perfectly fine without stickers btw. I know a guy who did a review back in the days and he didn't apply the stickers. Model still looked great.

Another good reason not to allow them

[TC25] Technic Shrinking Contest - Information Topic
You don’t see it as a problem, but the you pretty much sum up all the reasons why I’m not allowing stickers
-
[TC25] Technic Shrinking Contest - Information Topic
No, it's not the same, because 3rd party strings and rubber bands don't make a model look better. Being able to make great stickers is not part of the contest. Would not be fair to people who don't know how to Photoshop and make stickers.

[TC25] Technic Shrinking Contest - Information Topic
Hi. No custom stickers. You can cut genuine LEGO stickers (at least, I think I said that on one of the previous pages), but that's it.

[TC25] Technic Shrinking Contest - Information Topic
There are no limits in how you shoot the video. So that's okay.

Yeah, that's okay

Of course. Actually....this should be mandatory
