  1. Yup, I was in Walmart last night and realized it was a poster I saw with the light grey Ren shuttle, not a book. I also saw this guy in Walgreens, was going to post it in this thread, but I wasn't sure if the model was just white for the sake of being white. *cought*Battlefront*cough*
  2. $1650, wow. You lucked out of that one. As much as I love the hobby, I could never pay that much for a single set.
  3. I'd say it's fair to assume most of us have more Stormies in the house than actual humans. I got 2 today alone, and I know some of you got even more than that from Santa. Edit: LOL @ the Family Guy quote. That one always cracks me up.
  4. I'll probably end up spending some of my Christmas bonus on a larger SW set(between the TFA Falcon, Slave 1, and Death Star, obviously quite a swing in prices...) but my girlfriend got me The Ghost, TIE Defender, and the last A-wing for xmas. I also purchased the Phantom recently, and finished up my Rebels A-wing MOC last night.
  5. My point was tha when designing the set TLG probably used reference photos like the one on that book cover where the shuttle was grey. And I don't think TLG *needs* to remake it just because people aren't pleased with the color, though I would be surprised if the set doesn't get an update for one of the next two movies.
  6. I saw Ren's shuttle on the cover of a book last night and it was clearly light grey. Perhaps TLG got early images, hence the color.
  7. According to new cannon, the Battle of Jakku effectively ended the war. It will be interesting to see what took place in those 29 years between the battle and TFA.
  8. Exactly, look at how the F-35 was intended to replace multiple fighters. And to the lack of TIE Interceptors, it was noted that the TIE/sf "can move", so perhaps it fills the role that the Interceptor used to.
  9. They said they were seperate from the Republic fleet, so I'm assuming capital ships and the other small craft were with them. It makes sense for one resistance cell to only be flying one type of fighter.
  10. We didn't see much of a need for specialized fighters though. The Finalizer held squadrons of the TIE/fo and TIE/sf. A need for bombers and interceptors didnt really present itself. There were only several ships in ANH, it wasn't until the next two movies that the other rebel and imperial fighters surfaced. The squadron of T-70s were all that part of the Resistance could muster through the movie. Presumably, any other fighters were with the Republic fleet.
  11. Seriously dude? Starkiller was on one of the posters from before the movie was released. I don't see how my post was worth being deleted, it's not a spoiler if it's on an official poster that every single one of us has the ability to see. It's amazing how sensitive grown men can be.
  12. I didn't see any either, though the Republic fleet was supposedly destroyed, no? Perhaps they were with that fleet.

Spoilers!!! Ha, I kid. This is great, definitely reminiscent of the Jakku map in BF.
  14. I'm rooting for a UCS Bespin myself. Hoth is fairly easy to MOC.
  15. Is it really UCS worthy at this point though? We haven't gotten any Prequel locations as UCS sets yet, and I'd imagine the real money for that line would be with the original trilogy.
  16. What's the point of this thread without spoilers? Seems pretty unreasonable to not expect them here, or to ask for a spoiler free version when the point is for people who have seen the movie to discuss the sets. So concerned about spoilers? See the movie or don't open a thread where the people commenting are discussing the sets in the context of having seen it. That being said, the line up of sets covered pretty much all the bases of the movie, sans the actual Starkiller base which will be very hard for them to do justice in anything less than a UCS set. I'm actually more excited about the TFA Falcon after seeing the film, it obviously won't be the last we see of it so *another Falcon* makes more sense now. I also want a Poe's T-70 after seeing him string together those several nasty kills. The upcoming Takodana set could be better I think though with just a bit of interior. The set is obviously about the battle, but maybe just a little bit of interior for more context would be nice. Ren's shuttle is probably the weakest link of the bunch.
  17. Firstly, I really enjoyed the movie. It felt 100% like Star Wars even if it was something of a greatest hits album. What's sort of remarkable to me is how much I care about Finn, Rey, and Poe already, they might as well be that original trio of Luke, Leia, and Han because they're so likeable. I also didn't expect to want the new sets so badly after seeing it. Beforehand, I was content to just start with Rey's speeder, but now I want everything. As everyone else has said though, they really covered pretty much all the bases with the toys, not sure what else they could really do. Surprising that they didn't leave more room for more toys, though given the reason for the Ewok's existence, that's not necessarily a bad thing.
  18. With that Mcquarrie Boba Fett in the mini fig book, how about a Mcquarrie Chewbacca?
  19. 10/10 would buy a Jar Jar Jar
  20. This looks fantastic, and it's very welcome after I night spent playing the new Jakku DLC in Battlefront.

The original Y-wing and TIE Advanced will always stand out to me. It was my first set and I still remember the day I got it, my dad took me to KB Toys at the mall and I was thrilled to finally have a Star Wars set, having been a huge fan of the OT and Kenner figures. Do you guys remember how we had to represent Star Wars characters before the line came out? I actually feel lucky that it came out when I was young and could fully enjoy it. The Batman sets didn't come out until I was in my dark ages, I'd have gone crazy for them when I was young(and just think of a TLG Batman line based on The Animated Series!)
  22. This is awesome. Just imagine the Ghost thay could fit this!
  23. I really hope the A-wing holds true, that'd exactly the set I want. The UCS set is particularly interesting though, if it's true and its an OT set with 19 figs, perhaps it could be a proper Cloud City?
  24. Grabbed the latest OT Snowspeeder today. I wouldn't call it an update of the design, more like a refinement. It's a Snowspeeder with Luke and Dak so it's what you've come to expect, which I suppose isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's up to you if the $30 USD is worth it. The Snowtrooper is really nice though, I love the printed 1x1 tile on his backpack and I was delighted to find a second in my leftover pieces. I think my next purchase will be the rebels Stormtrooper battle pack. I've realized I have more clones than stormies and I need to remedy that.
