For what's worth, I think accuracy to source material doesn't matter if ignoring it gives us cooler sets. The Batmobile is definetly supposed to be black and the blue are just highlights, but it DOES look totally blue anyway. I don't think it matters whar it's SUPPOSED to look like, rather than what it FEELS like it looks. It also makes it stand out more, rather than being yet another black car.
