  1. I never really understood the damning response and criticism for the prelims - sure the exterior looks different to the 2018- wave, but it has its own charm and succeeds in resembling older interpretations, which is what it set out to do - it is an anniversary set after all. And there was never any doubt in my mind that the interiors and minifigs would be well-received - nice to see a change on the forum after several weeks of negativity! I really like CoS (glad to see the barn owl, cant really understand why they included Luna though, when it would make soo much more sense for it to be Penelope Clearwater) and Hogsmeade looks great as well (definitely prefer the Three Broomsticks over Honeydukes). Bit disappointed that the trio have uniforms in the Fluffy set, but happy to see confirmation of things like the trapdoor and Devil's snare in that set (am now really intrigued by that tower room!); the golden lectern, pixies, the duelling club set-up and lockhart's office/classroom in CoS; and the sink opening in the bathroom set. I agree with @Guyon2002 that the changing styles for the Hogwarts ghosts are a bit frustrating, though it is a nice addition. And although we have to wait till next year for sets like Gringotts or other DH sets, scenes like the CoS and the PS challenges were highly requested over the past few years so it's great that we're finally getting them - also looking forward to seeing the Flying Lesson set. The August wave being mostly non-minifig scale stuff doesn't bother me - its great to see that Lego is trying out new things, and I'm sure that the sets will be of great quality, and will appeal to many people, even if we're not the target audience. Because we are getting so many more sets in 2021 that previous years, I've found that thinking about the August wave as a bonus is a good way to stop the disappointment of the what-ifs and could-have-beens. And given that all of the house robes are present in the CoS set, I guess that there is now another likely contender for the accessory pack...
  2. Quite a bit bigger than 'life-sized'...
  3. Yeah same - I would really enjoy an accurate one, with a proper underground tunnel as well.
  4. This made me laugh way more than it should have
  5. Maybe the $120 is an accurate minifig scale Whomping Willow with, you guessed it, another CoS Ford Anglia!!
  6. Won't the Duelling Club be included in the June Great Hall set? I think it makes more sense that way tbh. My guess for the $40 August set is for a Troll Bathroom set
  7. Yep just seen that as well - ah well we just ignore whatever they said. Whoever NoKnow is, they're definitely an active reader of this page though.
  8. Last year, we didn't have any other sources that could confirm the hints he was giving us, until the sets leaked and he was discredited. This year, a couple of his hints seem to have been confirmed (and for the accessory pack for example he posted his list a long time ago) so it's only natural that we think about taking his information into account. But it doesn't mean that we're still not extremely skeptical at the moment.
  9. I really think that whoever pawnyeye on instagram is (even if its a reformed NoKnow) actually does have accurate hints this time. They've been correct about a bunch of stuff that has been revealed so far - they were correct that Sinistra was the missing teacher, they gave the exact minifigures for the accessory pack, and they said that Hooch would appear in a moments set. They've said a bunch of other stuff that hasn't been able to be confirmed yet, but it is all believable and makes sense. For example, they say that in the bathroom set, the trio will have slytherin robes (like Malfoy's in DA) and in the Fluffy set, the trio have their correct scene accurate outfits (and not robes) and that it will include the trapdoor and the devil's snare. I really hope this is true because I think it will elevate both these sets. They also said that its Neville (in his iconic PS pyjamas) in the AC and not pigtail Dudley. I think that this actually makes a lot of sense, as it would fit in more with the other characters in the AC, and these two minifigures could easily be confused. Looking at their other info, they've hinted that 76394 is a vehicule set. If this is true, at $40 dollars, I wonder what it could be. Surely not a new Knight Bus??
  10. I'm getting more and more convinced that the $250 D2C in the August wave is going to be something completely unexpected and weird and polarising like the Jurassic park D2C a couple of years ago. Either some sort of large centerpiece display set (maybe like the golden statues at the Ministry of Magic?) or it's not to do with Harry Potter but with another part of the Wizarding World (a large version of Newt's Suitcase perhaps?). Or maybe it's some large buildable character versions of the trio (in Mickey/Minnie Mouse style)?? Either way, I'm struggling to think of realistic sets that would warrant such lowering of expectations...
  11. I reckon it's Justin Finch-Fletchley in the Herbology one instead of Cedric. Looking at pictures of the actor, it would make sense for him to use the same hairpiece as Cedric, hence the confusion. Also given Seamus is in the Potions classroom (where he frequently causes explosions), I think he'll be getting a 'blown-up' face print.
  12. So it looks like there is a new wand box piece And Lockhart's cape is double sided
  13. This is really well done! Absolutely love the design and it's quite accurate to the film with the inclusion of the barrels and bottles. I think it will fit in very well with the new DA.
  14. Same - this is what I had in mind when visualising the entrance. And I am always blown away by the detail inside each of those shops.
