42154 B-Model | Ferrari F40
Hey all, we'd like to present another alternate build from the Lego 42154-1 Ford GT set. This was the best I could do out of the Ford GT! Honestly, I'd just like to hear if you guys liked it :) A 1/12 Scale Technic Ferrari F40. When designing this model, we wanted to preserve the Ferrari's iconic features and looks to make it a worthy replica of the famous sports car. The limited parts available in the Ford GT set proved challenging, making a functional car that looks accurate and performs as a good display piece. I want to say that when designing the model we built it to act as a shelf princess with some extra features. Our Instagram for more photos: InstagramNow let's dive into the features Features: Accurate and detailed F40 V8 Engine (working) RWD Suspension on both front and rear axles (limited in the front) HOG steering Interior with steering wheel and seats Opening doors Accurate F40 exhaust design 1/12 Scale (same scale as Ford GT) Tilting Hood Pop up Headlights A tilting Rear section that exposes the engine, rear suspension and exhaust Full independent suspension

CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHello Everyone, Crazykreations here with another update to the truck. We have switched out the tyres that were mandatory for the TC27 competition with the tractor tyres that fit the same size rims for better grip offroading (The contest submission is over, so tyres don't matter:). Enjoy the video we made of it offroading in the wild!

CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI do understand what you mean, however, If the caravan was put on a steep slope the outriggers obviously wouldn't be able to accept the height difference. If the outriggers were to be put on an uneven offroad terrain that is mostly flat but is far from perfect they would adapt to the height difference. Again, this will not be parked on the side of a mountain but a decent clearing. Your argument that the outriggers will not adapt to every height doesn't make sense as you would have to ask yourself the question, Will you park the camper trailer on an extremely uneven or tilted surface? Even in real life, realistically, no one will park their camper trailer on terrain that lacks a basic horizontal angle. If you are one of those people who engages in extreme camper trailer parking, I think my camper trailer will work but you would have to choose a safer more appropriate clearing/area to park your trailer *The sum of the front travel does not have to be the same as the rear, they can lower independently of each other so they do adapt to the surface.

CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThis will probably be my last or second workbench post as I have just finished the camper trailer. Before anyone says anything about the camper trailer not being out of a tent I have an explanation. I decided to build a hybrid camper trailer that combines the best of both worlds, a lightweight camper design that isn't the full size of a caravan. You also get the extra space and rigidity of a caravan without it being so big. This is my camper trailer. I still have a few things to polish here and there but it is mostly finished. I just need to make some changes to the Fender designs and clean up some random colours. I should have a video of all the functions of this full entry soon. The camper has the following features: - Pop-top for the roof - trailing arm suspension - Multiple storage and bench compartments - 2 output gearboxes for the outrigger deployment and pop-top roof lifting - Synchronised outriggers, courtesy of my differential design for the lowering and lifting mechanism - Rear door with lock - spare wheel rear bumper with integrated steps I just wanted to also say that I have changed the M-Motor for the steering from a fake one to an authentic Lego motor (I honestly had to check if I was using any fake motors and I did it not on purpose. I have now changed it). The rules stated that I can't use any imitation Lego motors and parts but Jim has allowed me to, due to a grey area, to proceed I must only use the battery box as an alternative power source and nothing else so I just wanted to talk about that for a bit before I show the photos.

CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingOoo alright, so that means that my entry would be disqualified. I’ll try and find another power source for the truck then…

CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHello, Crazykreations here with my next workbench update on the trailer. The 2-output gearbox has been rebuilt and added to the trailer chassis for the camper trailer. The mechanism for the outriggers works as I expected, allowing the trailer to be stable even when there is uneven terrain. Hopefully, my next workbench post will include some progress on the exterior of the camper trailer. I am planning to have a lever mechanism for the lifting roof with the linear actuator.

CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI understand the problems with this concept, but I have found a solution. The mechanism is made so that all of the outriggers will fold and turn to their position (even if one outrigger goes first). I will show in my next post. That is a great idea! A different cab fully based on a specific truck will look good.

CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHere I am proud to present my next workbench post, creating the concept of the camper trailer and the gearbox that will be implemented into it. The photo below is the gearbox concept that I have developed separately from the trailer. The Differentials are for the outrigger extension that will allow the trailer to be stable on uneven terrain. The framework chassis for the trailer has been completed and is awaiting the gearbox implementation. I will have to rebuild the gearbox so that it fits comfortably onto the trailer. The framework chassis is here below. Hopefully, This camper trailer will have synchronised outriggers controlled via a gearbox and a switch on the trailer. I am in a fight against time to finish this build so expect more workbench posts over the next few days:)

TC27 Aussie Overlander/Tradie vehicle
CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingBig Update 6... I have looked at more photos of the generic Aussie pickup and Overlander setup/build and I have now done another big modification to the orange rig. Now here is a little rundown of everything I have done today: Made little stickers for the doors and tradie tray canopy Designed 2 canopies for the flatbed. I initially thought of using the double door setup which would give 4 openable doors to access the tools and other equipment but the openings weren't that useable as they were a bit small and it was a bit of a tight squeeze for the fingers. So with that in mind, I redesigned the canopy to only have 1 opening door on each side. I will include photos of both canopy door configurations. Changed the spotties on the top from 3 to 4 spotties. There is a law in WA about it being unlawful to have 3 spotties at the top, but you can have 2 or 4+ spotties which is weird. I had no idea and I still don't fully understand that law but I guess I don't need to for a Lego pickup :) Canopy now has a slide-out benchtop Added a stronger tow hitch Tradie tray has a trundle drawer at the back Spare wheel mounts on the flatbed and canopy have been added I have tried to make a small rooftop tent that looks cool when it's been set up fully (It was only for fun as I am planning on making a camper trailer to complete this contest submission) New front Bull Bar design The rear suspension has been made stiffer to accommodate the extra weight of the tradie tray. The drivetrain has been geared down Now here are some photos of the changes I have made and how the truck looks now... Above is the design I chose to keep. It has 2 side doors in total whereas the design below has 4 doors that can be opened. I like the 2 door one above as it is cleaner and feels more polished than the sharp edges of the 4 door one below. I hope for the design to resemble this photo of a tradie tray below: \ \ Let me also add the photos of the different mods that I have designed in total for this aussie rig! I hope you guys are liking how it is turning out so far!!!!

TC27 Aussie Overlander/Tradie vehicle
CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingUpdate 5... So I did quite a bit of work on the model, the major modifications I have made are the following: Flatbed rear tray Openable side compartments for the flatbed adjusted placement of the battery box Snorkel added New front bull bar design. It's similar to the tubed front bull bar that most land cruisers in Australia have. I am still planning on making another front bull bar design that can be used interchangeably and some stickers for the truck. A canopy for the flatbed also called a tradie tray, is also needed. PS. I am adding an extra light for the spotties on top of the roof, I only left it at 3 because I couldn't find another one for now! The image above was some inspiration. There is a lot of work to still be done but I am happy with this progress so far. Tomorrow I am playing to get a lot of things done and hopefully, finish up most of the pickup truck. I can't wait to also commence the making of my 2 wheeled camper trailer that will complete this competition entry!

CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingUpdate 4... I'm trying to make this model original and envision making some changes in the future but here is what I came up with... I also have decided to make different visual configuration options for this model, for instance, I am currently making a stock bumper for the pickup but I will also try to make 2 different types of front bull bar's for the truck so I tick off the multiple 4x4 equipment off the checklist. I also took out the interior design that I had made onto the chassis early for some tweaking and adjustment to see if the bodywork fits nicely on the chassis. I initially tried to take some inspiration from this Ford Ranger Pickup truck, but this inspiration is only for the front grill and more or less the lights. The final model will barely resemble the image below but it was nice to see that my front design isn't too different. I mean, it has to be generic anyway

TC27 Aussie Overlander/Tradie vehicle
CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYea, thanks me too. I guess this competition works for me because I have to build a fully original model that isn't like any licensed set or real-life car. So it will end up having all of the features of the best and most popular Aussie offroaders rather than just look like one of them.

CrazyKreations replied to CrazyKreations's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThanks mate, yea these are very iconic and strong cars. I also am planning on making a 1/8 scale version which would hopefully be exactly like the one I’m currently making.
