  2. Hi, could someone please help? LDD keeps crashing. I try and create a new file but when I click 'Save' the programme crashes. I currently have large files such as 7192 pieces, I import this into a blank file then delete the models I don't need. This brings it down to about 5000 pieces. When I try to save this file, LDD crashes. Other times I have managed to save the file and done some work (just made like 4 or 5 minifigures) and successfully saved for a little while then it crashed again and now it says I can't open the file. I've read on other posts that some people have had models with 10,000 bricks and no trouble. Even with only 3000 bricks often my LDD glitches or becomes slower, but in the past I have managed up to 9000 pieces on one file without crashes. I try to copy paste various models into separate files so individual files don't have too many bricks, but this is often where I get crashes or lose entire files to somewhere. I have an MSI Gaming tower that is only about 2 or 3 years old and is very capable of running a programme like LDD. Especially as many of you have started creating new pieces (made after 2016) and adding them to LDD, how do you stop LDD from crashing in the first place? Does adding new pieces make the programme slower?
  3. @CalabarGood idea. What would also be really helpful would be a new thread or folder or something where fans can go to the latest LDD with all the new 'custom' parts (for parts made post 2017), and click on one link to download the whole lot. At the moment its very difficult finding the latest link to all the new parts (which ideally would include all parts made previously too). Also in this space could be a link to download LDD 4.3.11 I think it is (the one that isn't stuffed up). Finally, I'm not sure if this is possible but it would be really cool and helpful if there was a way for one to download LDD (4.3.11) with all the custom parts included as one download. That would save all the moving folders, renaming stuff etc. which is very daunting to those of us like me who don't know much about computers and don't want to stuff up our LDD.
  4. Thanks! Great to hear someone is making Boutique Hotel and the new prints. I assume the new prints would include the rotary telephone and typewriter? (I NEED those haha) This is irrelevant to the hotel but I'd really appreciate if someone could make the minifig prints from Pharaoh's Quest (especially all the heroes) for LDD, they would help a lot with my 1930s-1950s MOCs. All the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts prints would also be really good and I reckon quite popular. Thanks for the link! @StephanOh one more thing. When you download the new parts link, does that include every new part added up to that point or just the new parts added that month for example? And to update does that mean I will have to re-download LDD every few months?
  5. Is this thread not for Lego Digital Designer? While I appreciate your reply, I am just so sick and tired of people saying "use Studio" whenever I ask a question about LDD. I am not directing that annoyance at you personally, but I have had so many people go on about Studio, sometimes quite adamantly despite my clearly and respectfully rejecting the Studio idea and asking for assistance with LDD. It's like asking how to add page borders to Microsoft Word and everyone tells you to go buy a whole new computer. Studio is extremely user unfriendly. I struggle to understand how it works despite using LDD for years, as well as having a little experience with other non Lego CAD programmes. Studio may have lots of new parts but that's pointless if I struggle to even place and connect them. The idea of an in built rendering system and the ability to make custom prints as well as having all the new parts is great, and I would love to have that. But I have tried multiple times using Studio and it is just so complicated and user unfriendly; even the black background makes the experience far less enjoyable than LDD. I once built a WW1 era omnibus (because Studio had an old Fabuland staircase piece it needed) in Studio, it was a relatively small 6 wide bus and not at all complicated. That thing took me hours to make in Studio, in LDD I could have made it in less than an hour. Building minifigs is my favourite thing to do and there's no way I'm spending hours having to put arms, hands, legs and waist pieces together for each individual character. Furthermore, while Studio does have a good range of prints, it doesn't have any of the prints available in LDD which is just dumb because you would think that is the first thing they would add and then go on from there. I have previously been open to trying Studio for the purpose of rendering my LDD models however this never works as while Studio can import LDD files, for some reason it always completely mucks up my model. I'll have entire sections of buildings missing, minifigs with no prints, I've even had bricks randomly turned 90 degrees from the way they should have been facing. This was not because the colours or parts didn't exist in real life, I checked that before hand; and the turning brick problem was literally just a straight bricks on top of bricks wall. It wasn't like I was doing any crazy illegal techniques or anything. I didn't know you could save studio files as .ldd files, how do you do this? I have had people wish to send me models but can't because they use Studio and I use LDD. Also, one more thing. People's main complaint with LDD is it's outdated parts inventory. This problem has been fixed as I said by a group of fans who someone accessed the LDD parts database and managed to make codes or stuff like that so they can make custom parts and fix existing ones. These have been working fine for other people so I wanted to know how to successfully download these new parts onto my LDD without causing any problems with my existing files.
  6. Has anyone built the Boutique Hotel modular? If not then could someone please do so? Also, how do I download the new parts that people have made (eople have been making custom parts and prints for pieces made after 2017)? Is there a link I can download to download the whole lot? How do I make sure it doesn't stuff up LDD? I'm already having trouble with files with more than around 7000 pieces, the programme starts crashing despite me having a powerful gaming computer. Is there a way to download the new parts without too much coding? I am very unconfident when it comes to typing code and copy pasting files, deleting files etc. I tried it once and stuff up my pictures folder so I'd hate to stuff up my LDD.
  7. Finally someone has found a way to add new parts to LDD! It makes me very happy knowing that I am not the only one who wishes to keep using LDD instead of using Stud.io which is horrendously difficult to use. Is there a link or URL thing I can download etc. to get all the new parts and decorations listed above, as of the 9th of November 2021 (the day I post this comment)? Also, is there a simple or least risky way of getting the new parts without stuffing up LDD? To be honest I'm rather unconfident when it comes to playing around with the computer typing code and so forth. Naturally I don't want to lose LDD trying to get the new parts. Finally, as well as new parts, will someone, or has someone, made a new download file that lets one download Lego Digital Designer 4.3.1? I think was the correct version (4.3.12 lost lots of pieces and is just weird). Normally when I get a new computer I have to patiently search through forums until I find where someone has posted a google drive link to 4.3.11 and hope its not a virus or something. The current 'official' Lego LDD website has 4.3.12, which is the one without most parts and decorations.
  8. How does one get around the flash player problem if flash player is being deleted by adobe and microsoft on all devices as of ironically today the 31st December 2020 (although the process for this started ages ago)
  9. How do I get around the flash player problem now that adobe flash player is not only no longer supported but also all versions are removed?
  10. I posted this in another topic but I will post it here since it is likely more relevant here. Edit: Having read some comments above I will just clarify that I am using the extended version in both the msi laptop and msi tower. I have a question for everyone sorry if this has been answered before. I am using LDD 4.3.11 on an MSI laptop I have got a new computer as the laptop with LDD on it is getting old. When I downloaded LDD from both the offical Lego link it said LDD 4.3 (although I believe mine does that sometimes too but its fine). First it wouldnt connect to the internet, I have used offline mode before and had no problems but this time when I opened a file I had on USB from the other computer, the parts section (sorry I dont know the proper name for the column on the side with all the squares you click on to get Bricks, Plates, Minifig accessories etc.) was much smaller, about three 'squares' had question marks on them and many parts were missing as well as all the parts were just ordered weird with some minifig accessories for example included as minfig body parts, the 'misc' tab (it normally has a picture of one of those old Fabuland round signs) was just messed up and instead of all those great minfig prints there was like 20, all really old crappy ones too. I uninstalled that and tried a link from a third party website, same issues. Where can I find LDD 4.3.11 or 12 or whatever the latest version is and successfully download it? Below is a list of parts but the ones posted above such as the marcroni tiles and Claas tyres, minidoll bottom pieces etc. are the version I want. It runs fine on the MSI laptop and now I want it on my new MSI tower but cant find it. Some of the latest parts I can recall are Tile 2x3 flat tile, 2x3 with angle, 1x1 tiles 1/2 circle and 1/4 circle plate 2x2 27 degrees (left and right) plate 2x2 45 degrees I believe the latest CMF prints are the CMF series which had the paleontologist, Egyptian warrior, alien trooper, classic king, but was the Queen after classic king? If so then it also has the Queen and associated parts, Jewel thief and the rest of whichever series that was.
  11. @CorvusA THANK YOU! FINALLY someone has admitted the Studio SUCKS because its near impossible just to build anything. Its great thats its got all these new parts and prints (although it doesnt have the ones from LDD which is just dumb youd think they would start from that) but its impossible to use. Studio reminds me of Trump, impossible to work with but seemingly worshipped by everyone. :( Now, I have a question for everyone sorry if this has been answered before. I am using LDD 4.3.11? (maybe its 10) but whatever the latest one was. I have got a new computer as the one with LDD on it is getting old. When I downloaded LDD from both the offical Lego link it said LDD 4.3 (although I believe mine does that sometimes too but its fine). 12. Is this link safe? Thanks for posting it! I am however a little hesitant with this. Is 0006 any better? And do you think it would fix my problems?
  13. Does anyone know where I can download the latest Bluerender? Im still using the 0.005 beta version and someone here mentioned a 0.006. Normally it works fine but this time I have a 5000+ piece model (Im actually only rendering two minfigs for the purposes of a Lego World Builder project) and it doesnt render, says something along the lines of java out of data. I did read above where some of you have rendered BIG projects with no problems so any ideas how to fix this? It appears to work for a smaller model, at least on the wireframe preview which I couldnt even get to work on this 5000 piece LDD project.
  14. Hi there may already be a thread for this but I was wondering if anyone knows how to create custom prints for parts that are completely one's own, i.e instead of has been discussed putting say the already existing 1x1 gauge print on a 1x1 round tile. putting for example Choc-A-Block Belgian chocolatier on say a 1x8 tile or Flying Scotsman on a tile 4x4 w/ bow piece. I did find one fellow who I think could do it but his instructions required a lot of 'hacking the Pentagon' stuff as I call it which I am not confident with, I dont want to go stuffing around with the codes of my LDD program too much in case I bugger up the whole program or something. Any ideas?
  15. It would be great if we got a good medieval set and then a cheaper creator one. I do wish Lego would invest in some historical themes though... If not the classic ones then I really dont see why they cant do something else, such as vikings, greek/roman mythology I dont know. Victorian? I guess steampunk fans would like that?
  16. I really hope they bring back historical themes. Im wondering if Lego will release some sort of Naval set, either a fort, ship or both, to accompany POBB like they did with Ecto 1 and the GFHQ. I can understand Western has probably had its day, although I hardly think the kids of the 1990s were any more into cowboys and Indians then the kids of today as opposed children growing up in the 50s and 60s. As has been said, there is certainly a market for pirates and castle out there, for both AFOLs and KFOLs. Sadly Lego seems to have got into its head that 'we dont do historical themes anymore'. The only reason kids dont buy say pirates is because there hasnt been any pirates sets for 5 years and the last pirates wave had no 'love' put into it. Compare the effort put into say first wave Nexo Knights compared to the 2015 pirates line. If Lego gave historical themes a good 'go' they would sell just as much as say hidden side or creator. In my experience young kids love pirates, there's whole pirate themed parties and my local 'cheap store' has one isle for 'dress ups' and one isle devoted entirely to pirate dress up. Im sure there's plenty of kids who'd love to own POBB but naturally a $300 set ($300 AU here) is not going to sell well to young kids. I dont see why Lego cant do something 'new' with historical themes either, perhaps more emphasis on the islanders this time round or revive the Imperial Armada. For castle I personally liked Kingdoms the best as it was most realistic but the 2008? 'Castle' line with knights vs monsters seemed fine and Im sure would sell now with updated parts and building techniques. I really hate it when people in forums such as this assume that if AFOLs want to bring back historical themes they mean literal re-releases with very basic sets like Yellow Castle. No one means that... And as I said before, the historical themes of the 2000s and 2010s were okay its just they needed more support. Of course kids are going to go more for say Ninjago over a regular castle if Ninjago has a tv show, game, characters, and multiple sets rather then just the same old say 5 sets plonked on a shelf. Some sort of battle pack 'ambush', a 'bad knights' prison carriage, King so and so's castle, and a small and insignificant hideout for the evil wizard. Personally Id really like to see a realistic Viking theme, they could add mythology if they want to. In my experience vikings are very popular with kids of all ages, there is always a large crowd at a local re-enactment group despite Australia obviously being a long way from any viking influences while both the tv show Vikings, How to Train your Dragon and Norse mythology in general all seem to be 'in favour.'
