  1. Remembering this model from my childhood, I got one from ebay and rebuild it somewhat more modern. The main model is stock except a few liftarms instead of the old technic bricks. In addition, many tiles and extras to fill up the gaps and create a more badass look. Reworked the rear bumper parts (instead of the stickers now there are real lights). Don't know if I like the flat silver modified tiles on the V6, but for now i will keep it. I am thinking about the use of one or two panels for the rear end. I think this model is my absolute TOP favorite of all technical models. Playabillity, technical aspects and of course, the use of real pneumatic with an air-tank. Oh and the black 3L connectors ... why are they nowadays ugly blue??? It's sad that LEGO is not using those anymore.

  3. Hi folks, I finally got hands on the awesome Volvo EW160. The model was really good but I missed some parts here and there. The main upgrades I wanted to have included: a scrap grabber and redesigned boom with an exchangeable tool-array made by @Freizeitopfer (see Rebrickable for instructions - it's worth) a second pneumatic cylinder for the main boom - I had to redesign the lower part in the front a bit to make it fit snug. Also in the cabin I had to remove a long lift-arm and make a small gap so it won't interfere 0.5L with the cylinder while in the lower position. filling up some more lift-arms in the chassis and cabin to close ugly looking holes changed many 3L blue-Pins with black ones (still some work necessary in the front part) changed the balloon tires to the new tractor (Jeep) ones for more badass and real look Most important: for the scrap grabber I used a pneumatic hose from ebay. seems not original Lego but it is more wobbely and not so stiff. That is important, so the whole part is not pulled by the hoses. Still need to built in an extra valve to control the front pneumatic cylinder, new hoses (maybe all black) and an air-tank for more fun. Not looking into electrical, will keep it manual :) Enjoy the view and let me know what else could be done for this project.
  4. Hi folks, just wanted to start a new thread with mods for the Lego Technic Power Puller (8457). Here are some pics of mine. I didn't change very much to the base structure, most mods were done in the front part and with the engines. The drive train in the back part was pretty messy over the years, that's why I opted for a differential. Makes no sense, but who cares :) bilder speichern kostenlos
  5. Sorry for the Delay, i was super busy with moving to another place but here are some more pictures. Hope it helps
  6. https://www.ebay.de/itm/4-StüCk-96mm-1-9Inch-RC-Crawler-Auto-Felge-Und-Reifen-für-1-10-HSP-Redcat-Auto/383291548486?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Here is the ebay Link of the tires I bought. You can find similar other listings for different price. They do not have any special branding and many listings are the same tires. Just check the diameter and tread. It took some time to get them cheap from china but you might find them somewhere in europe. It is important to take max diameter of 96mm as all the other RC tires are too big, same experience here. When fitting then, make sure you fit the inner lips somehow into the grooves of the rim. The tires will strech just a tiny bit and flatten themselves this way. It looks a bit bulky to the side but holds super well on the rim and does not interfere with the upper panels.
  7. I am looking for the same but could not find anything comparable. It seems this guy took the old power functions system but still curious where he put all the motors into that model.
  8. @barbanera The rim covers look awesome, can you upload a more detailed picture?
  9. I fell in love with the Volvo loader quite a long time ago and finally got one from ebay. After a complete rebuilt I wanted to build in few of the mods you showed here. Thank you efferman for the authentic steering mod! It's awesome and the steering is way better compared to the servo engine. In addition, Rock Crusher 1.9 XT tires and plenty liftarms & tiles completed the model. The original loader was well designed, but too naked. The cabin was extended with bend yellow liftarms and also filled a bit up. The black panels in the back bumper fit somehow better, although yellow ones look also great. Can't choose at the moment. The upper engine body was rebricked as I didi't like the loose exhaust pipe. Also an external air filter was copied from the real loader and an additional filter/oil reservoir behind the front wheels was attached. Hope you like it. I do not have any building instructions but can share pictures how I made the rear bumper and other stuff if someone needs that. All the rest is self explained I guess.
  10. Hey! Thanks to corona lockdown I got my LandRover set and was very happy to build it up after nearly 17 years lego technic "abstinence". As I really enjoy modding stuff to perfection, I did a few upgrades and would like to share them with you. Main things include: 3rd set of hard red springs for the back axis, dual red hard springs for the front, front and rear bull-bar, trailer winch (will be upgraded soon), side-steps, snorkel, external air-filter, lightbar, some cosmetic addons i.e change of all visible blue pins to black ones and adding some round tiles, exchange of light gray parts to pearl dark grey (ladder steps and exhaust), For the future I plan to build in a v6 classic engine, ackermann steering, a custom roof top tent, better tyres (maybe not Lego ones) and a suitable trailer thanks to jerry_sutton from rebrickable. Here is the actual update with 3rd party tires and a new Bullbar variant (Took a day to build it the classic way without studio :)). The tire size is about 90mm diameter and fits very well on the new Lego rims. No issues with steering or rubbing against the fenders. Check on ebay for 1.9 crawler wheels if you are interested.

Sorry for the double post! I have posted that in the "Defender Mods and Upgrades" thread already but 't know how to delete my post here.
