After some back and forth with support they've agreed to send me more of that one connector piece. They actually admitted this set has an issue across several parts in my response but unfortunately won't send other parts as they said they can't guarantee it will fix anything. They gave me $25 worth of rewards points as an apology. While I would have preferred an attempt at new parts I guess them admitting the set is flawed is a step in the right direction. I'll probably try for replacements again if they ever do resolve the issue.
