  2. Peterbilt 281 "Needlenose" semi truck with 28 ft reefer trailer Another passion project was this semi truck with trailer, based on the yellow TC27 truck from @efgen86 as shown here: [TC27] Lime dump truck - LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling - Eurobricks Forums Here's my version, it takes hood, grille and doorsteps from efgen's truck. The truck features: HOG steering openable hood and openable doors inline six-cylinder fake engine Thetrailer features: pendular twin axle openable rear doors similar to the MACK container retractable landing gear, operated by spinning the small tanks under the frame compatible to all MACK-ish saddle plates Here are some impressions from this real-life beauty: Here's the gallery: Pete 281 Reefer Trailer - Bricksafe
  3. Just before the end of the year, here is an update on my garage. There have been a few revisions and new additions in the last few months. Bortnick's Buggy: I created my own version of it, based on the parts I had in my inventory LEGO MOC Buggy by Bortnick | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO Rebuild the Hot Rod from scratch. It features HOG steering with working steering wheel, V8 fake engine, openable trunk. It is not wider than 13 studs, even though it has the fat tires in the rear, so it fits on the car transporter trailer. Using big panels and only few liftarms, it looks really clean in the end. A highlight are the wheels, the usual rims in combination with a black disc create a super classic look. Roadster Kit Car Inspired by cars like Caterham 7, Panoz Roadster and small kit cars It features HOG steering with working steering wheel, openable trunk, openable doors. It is not wider than 13 studs, so it fits on the car transporter trailer. The tricky part was creating the front wheel arches that move with steering as they hav to allow a decent steering angle and must not collide with the nose. With #1 and #2 I finally own enough small cars to fulfill one wish I had for a long time: Fit seven cars (excluding pullbacks) on my car transporter trailer and have the center part of the upper ramp in the lowest position.
  4. For each taillight they printed four round lamps on a 4L curved slope... I got used to printet taillights and i understand the use of these if a supercar has complex taillights with special lines, but here? Four round tiles on each side would look so much better.
  5. I was kinda hoping it was the classic stingray...
  6. Finally my LEGO PaB order arrived yesterday - after five weeks of waiting. I'm sooo hyped now! Time to update the rear axles of some of my trucks from super singles to dual tires... This is how (simple change of few parts, no change in frame structure needed, old (left) vs new (right)): And this is how it looks (old (left) vs new (right)): While modern trucks as the Anthem look okay with super singles, they look weird on classic trucks. So the first one to get this treatment was my K100. Here the creepy version as it has been for years now: And here the version with dual tires: The difference is enormous, like between a toy and a model. I didn't touch the front axle yet, that's another chapter.
  7. Really cool alt, beautiful shapes in the front. I'm getting FUSO vibes.
  8. Since I completely fell in love with your design of the legendary Pete 281, I had to try if I can build one too with my parts. I found the right parts in white, but just as many as needed for hood and cab, so I made a two axle semi tractor of it. I took your design of nose and grille, which imho can't be made any better, put in an inline-six-engine, made a slightly different cab, used the fenders design from my yellow Pete tow truck and the rear chassis design from my K100 - just shorter. I promise I am going to wait until TC27 is over before posting images. And ofc I will refer to your design. Thanks again for sharing your pics and giving me the chance and the inspiration to add such an iconic truck to the garage.
  9. TLG made things right with this truck. After watching the speed build I was impressed by the way the truck chassis is built. Looks like this chassis can be the base for many different trucks. I really like the use of the new fake engine elements and the design of the front axle/engine area, and I love the fact they used the narrow truck wheels. I did a quick check on the LEGO website and I saw the narrow truck wheels (tires and rims) can now be ordered via p&b again. They've been unavailable for a while. https://www.lego.com/de-de/pick-and-build/pick-a-brick?appearsIn=42175&perPage=400 The negative side of the wheels being available is, that now I feel myself forced to order some to update my fleet.
  10. Aaaaand it's gone. That was quick Thanks again @Murdoch17
  11. I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you too. I just didn't recognize the "report MOC" link before, thank you for that hint. Reported just now. Thank you very much!
  12. Today I found one of my models on RB. Here's the RB link (posted July 28, 2024): LEGO MOC 42112 Concrete mixer truck american type by GU | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO Here's the EB link to my garage (posted March 31, 2021): XTN's garage - LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling - Eurobricks Forums That makes me mad bc: That guy didn't ask for permission - which I probably had given him bc I have no experience in making instructions. He wants money for the instructions - I can take pics from every angle you want for free if you're interested in building it. For me that's the most annoying part, bc I'd never want money for my designs, especially if they are not really polished due to my parts inventory at that time. I didn't expect stolen designs showing up on RB - I wonder if it has already been on other sites. We all know about designs stolen by chinese brick manufacturers, but RB always felt like some kind of safe space. More than three years later? Really? What took him so long? The set isn't even available anymore. Please tell me your thoughts and maybe your experiences about that.
  13. Oh. Tbh, 42023 is the only Technic excavator I've had in my hands so far. Maybe geared slewing is pointless for an excavator with a wheeled chassis when you have a HOG steering for the wheels. But turning a tracked chasis whithout some kind of mechanism will require touching the tracks, otherwise you only rotate the superstructure, which isn't a good solution in my eyes. I've had an idea for a solution, but I can't upload pics bc the prototype is waiting at home for me returning from vacation.
  14. Is there a knob or a gear for rotating the superstructure versus the tracked chassis? Or is the superstructure rotated just by touching it and pushing it, like the kid in the clip does? As far as I remember earlier excavators had one, and TLG usually has a lever or a knob for all kinds of functions - not counting doors and hoods. Without such thing it might be difficult to steer the excavator around corners or just rotate the chassis.
  15. I really like the design of your American trucks, so I'm looking forward to see the result. The nose looks promising already. For me it was a hard struggle to fit all the functions when I made a Holmes 750 in that scale on a Mack Cruiseliner chassis. I hope to see some helpful solutions to improve mine.
  16. I've entered the Lego Techic party kinda late when buying 42078 as my first Technic set, so I've totally missed the four digits set number era that many of you praise for offering great B-models. After building the Mack A-model I also had to buy another copy to buy the B-model, bc I loved to have two Amreican trucks in the same scale standing next to each other on the shelf. So yes, I've build the B-model because the set had one. I've also built 42093 B and the van from 42098 B as a basis for further modding. Later I found the RB website and the incredible amount of models that fit the theme and the scale of 42078, so I've bought another copy of it and manifested my addiction to 15 studs wide trucks. After crossing this border, I've bought sets bc of their alternatives on RB or later as parts packs, so I don't really miss the B-models. At the end it doesn't matter for me if the alternative model is provided by TLG or a talented MOCer.
  17. I've seen this boom concept in a post by @suffocation first and fell in love with it so much, that I had to copy it for one of my tow trucks. For my truck I found two ways to make this concept tough and reliable: give it a little more guiding, maybe limit the travel of the inner boom part just a little, let it stick out like two studs less, use flipflop beams for the upper guide rail inside of the panels and use them with the first hole perpendicularly oriented, then they are thicker than normal liftarms, which gives the boom more stability and less play. Maybe that works for you too as it did for me. And... I really like your project so far, especially the design of the rear axle.
  18. After all the mod, here's another addition to my garage: Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Of course it fits onto my car transporter trailer or inside its belly. It features: HOG steering openable hood, tube doors, trunk door fake V6 engine driven by differential from rear axle foldable trailer hitch; for folding it in or out, the the boot floor can be folded up. I wish it didn't have to be orange, but those are the parts in my inventory. In my eyes the front bumper looks awesome, maybe I will add a fake winch, like just a hook with an inch of rope. By now I didn't find enought space to add a real winch with a knob without destroying the overall look of the nose. I guess I will leave it like that for a while, I'm open for ideas. Folding in the trailer hitch... The girl is getting ready for a trip to the beach.
  19. Thanks mate, that means a lot to me.
  20. Also my van was updated. It started as mod of the 42098 B-model years ago and was sitting on my shelf untouched for a long time. The idea was to create an adjustable rear axle to be able to change the chassis angle from a civilian look to a custom car look that matches the giant V8 inside. Therefore I've changed almost everything inside except for the V8. The height of the rear axle can be adjustet by two small LAs. These are operated by a small axle that is used for the HOG steering too. just remove the small axle from the steering position (midlle of the roof), place it in the hole (back of the car) for rear axle adjustment, then place it back to the roof position for steering. To make the van look more civilian, the spoiler can be removed and hidden inside the van. Now it features: HOG steering openable roof in the back + rear "window" fake V8 engine adjustable rear axle height Here are the pics. Civilian look (low + no spoiler) Custom look (high + spoiler) Open roof, spoiler and axle for steerin/adjustment Spoiler stored inside Another small update, more like an upgrade. 42128 got a bumper guard. To still be able to open the hood, the bumper guard can be folded down.
  21. I updated some of my vehicles. In previous posts I had shown that I've changed my orange and white 1977 Ford F100 inspired pickup truck from a long bed version to a stepside variant bc I was bored of the look. Also I lowered the roof and I had to cancel some of the features. These features still remain: HOG steering, working steering wheel fake V6 engine driven by rear axle via differential openable doors, hood and tailgate Here are the missing pics. Next one is the red sportscar from one of the more recent posts. It had a small issue: There was no engine inside. This problem is solved, now it features a small transversely mounted three-cylinder in-line engine in the back. Now it features: HOG steering with working steering wheel openable frunk, doors, engine cover in the back. fake three-cylinder engine in the back directly driven by the rear axle The girls called a mechanic to check if everything is fine, because now the car makes strange noises while driving.
  22. The night between kicking out the old couch and getting the new one delivered, when the living room was almost empty, I made myself a wish come true on the living room floor (probably not what u think ):
  23. The latest addition to my garage: A small red sportscar, that fits onto the car transporter trailer. It features: HOG steering with working steering wheel openable frunk, doors, engine cover in the back. The frunk offers enough space for four (!) luxury shopping bags. The engine in the back is still missing. Now there are enough cars to fill the trailer without using the pullbacks.
  24. My two cents: Can we have a speed build vid on YT pls? I miss the message "boat doesn't float". I love the fact that this moc already has more comments than parts. Not sure bout it, but this moc might be the absolute king regarding its comment part ratio.
