The return of dark bluish grey roofs does put a smile on my face and to all people complaining about the reboot of the Hogwarts I say.... that is how it felt in 2021 to us, deal with it :D
My Hogwarts setup is happy for it :)
"Combines with other LEGO® Harry Potter™ sets sold separately: Gringotts™ Wizarding Bank model attaches to Diagon Alley (75978), sold separately" - the end of a debate (was kinda obvious to me anyway but to some of you who doubted :D)
Thank you for making it more clear.
People are also complaining that it is not wide enough, well it actually is just as wide as it should when you look at the official source material, because the model only represents the front part of the Gringotts bank which we see from Diagon Alley. Of course it is getting wider as we go further back with the building but if they made the full Gringotts building like we see in some MOCs it would be absurdly expansive or we wouldn't have an undergroud system.
Definitely European tomorrow (so today) since they are based in Denmark
I think does it match the scale, Gringotts is not supposed to be mega giant compared to Diagon Alley buildings, just 1,5 times bigger I would say. All those MOCs we have seen are oversized in my opinion. Honestly I hope they confirm it or directly show it today during the reveal so we won't have to have this debate anymore :DDD
I finished my Hogwarts castle layout. I posted it on every single platform but I thought I could share it with you too since this forum motivated me to create it :D
I remember how critical I was about new Hogwarts sets when we found out it’s gonna be a full reboot. Everyone including me thought they wouldn’t be compatibile with old 2018-2021 sets and now 2 years later I can say that I was so wrong.
Backside picture of the new Hogwarts layout leaked. I almost got it 100% right. The only thing I didn’t put on correct place are the roof parts with golden fence from the Dumbledore’s Office set that are supposed to go on the top of the Bathroom set.
I would suggest adding Fluffy and Flying Lesson sets on the right side of the layout. There are couple options where you could put Dorms GWP set but to me all of them look rather ugly because 1) you can't stack higher than two modules as otherwise both towers would loose they dominant look and 2) connecting it to sides would create wall effect which we want to avoid. Yeah the Chamber of Secrets play feature is lost here but I can't help myself, this way it just looks better from the outside.
That playfeature is one of the main things that makes Polyjuice Potion Mistake so great but I also kinda get why they decided to put it on library instead as it looks much better from the exterior side. Also here is the render of the entire interior side which they didn’t show to us.
Well I work with these sets in stud.io program for almost two years now so I know each of them just too well. I don't know if I got it 100% correct but I'm sure the library section from Dumbledore's Office set is either under Hospital Wing+Polyjuice Potion Mistake set (first picture) or under Lockhart's classroom, in both cases the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets play function is lost. I would suggest to just swap Lockhart's classroom with Polyjuice Potion Mistake set (2nd picture) but then the exterior part doesn't look good because black and white windows are next to each other (3rd picture) so it's up to your preference.
