    That's really nice.
  2. I would also, rather mishievously, suggest that the original Le Mans winning GT 40 (up to Mk 4) don't belong in the USA group either

Would it be possible to have this thread as just a general Speed Champions collection thread, for everyone, whatever the stud-width, without necessarily the exclusive 8 - wide rule? Or is there already a 6 - wide thread? Apologies if there is and I just haven't found it. I very much enjoy the challenge of restricting myself to the 6 - wide Speed Champs scale. Using just original Lego stickers and pieces. And really, in that sense my 'creations' are only ever really slight modifications to the original design philosophy of the six- wide scale models. As you can see, I only really enjoy making quite subtle modifications to the original designs, so they don't really qualify as Moc's in that sense. And probably only just scrape by as Mods. The differences are there though, but you just have to look really close.

The P4 is just outrageously good! I can see that it might be possible to derive a Lola T70 from your ingenious build technique, too.
  6. Very nice indeed. Your 240 z's in particular are absolutely tremendous. I really appreciate you working at 6-wide with the 240 z's too. That can be so difficult. I can imagine a classic Alfa Romeo Guilia or Montreal being built based upon your technique with the 240 z's. Great photography too. It can be quite tricky photographing the 6-wide speed champions.
  7. I don't think that I will ever really get used to or accept 8 - wide. To the extent that I actually plan to convert 8 - wide back to 6 - wide. Partly for the continuity with the earlier Speed Champs sets and partly because aesthetically at least, the wheels at 8 - wide now 'appear' too small to my eye. I accept that the original 6 - wide speed champions also appear too narrow when viewed head on, but I only ever display them with their side on view profile anyway and in that context wheel size is everything. I also really enjoy the challenge of trying to correct the 6 - wide speed champs sets. It is difficult to correct the 8 - wide sets as we can't really adjust the wheel arches. That said, I do support all the 8 - wide set releases. Those sets just mean extra Speed Champs relevant pieces and stickers to me, so it's win-win in that sense. The 8 - wide Lambo is fantastic though.
